Online classes began on Monday and when I asked Brooklyn if it made her day feel longer or shorter, she assured me in was LONGER! I love that girl. What a blessing that the schools are able to provide ways that learning can take place during these crazy times. I love that for PE one day, the weather provided swim time. They turned the trampoline into a black sand beach and had a great time. Ricky's stake has asked him to figure out ways to help people recieve the Sunday School lessons and he wanted to check in on our Zoom Seminary one morning. It was fun to have him there with us. The girls started this big puzzle thinking it would take the whole time they had to stay at home but guess what? It's done! They do have some very great puzzlers at their house.
Our Medford Granges
The Medford Granges closed on their house this week and got the keys. The painters are getting started and the fence builders are coming soon to. While they wait to move in, there is plenty of fun things to do at home. Lots of books have been read. Penny finished her first Harry Potter Book and got to watch the movie. Max finished Charlie and the chocolate Factory and little Gracie loved listened to him read to her. He is a great reader. Charlie and Oscar have loved the puppet theatre Tatia put up in the hallway. There have been lots of fun stories written and acted out with puppets. Oh what fun! Pierce's family taught them how to make quilts on the side walk. They loved a nice afternoon quilting with side walk chalk. Love it!
Our Carmichael Thiots
We got a phone call from Keelie last night calling from Love Field in Dallas. She had a 40 minute layover and then headed for home! What a wonderful two weeks she and her grandma spent in Houston with her aunt and children and brand new baby girl who was born on Monday afternoon. Welcome Baby Lyla Christine. Keelie's middle name is Christina and she loves that they share that special name. Charlie and Jen took a fun bike ride across the American River Bridge. As you can see, Miss Jen puts a smile on Charlie's face. Mine too! I'm not sure about the six feet apart rule:)
Our LA Thiots
I can't believe what Adelaide, Jackson, and Pierce started on their driveway. I love all the beautiful Side walk chalk quilts that are appearing everywhere. Such fun. Thanks for sharing with the world LA Thiots! Light brights have come out of the box and been a fun way to keep everyone happy too. Now I'm not sure about the pulling your eye balls out. YIKES! Jackson has surely started something, not sure good. Bike rides around the neighborhood and a car ride to a friend who was having a birthday to sing happy birthday from the car windows have put smiles on these faces this week too. Thanks for sharing your fun ideas!
Our Oak Lawn Thiots
Miss Elie is an outside kind of gal and with all the rain rain rain we have had, she is sure glad for a few sunny days to run and run and run. Miss Elie has a funny connection to sticks. She can find them where ever she goes and she must have quite a collection of them. On Saturday they watch Moana and when she was out for a walk, she found a Hook like the guy in the movie. She was so very happy with her find. What a fun girl you are Elie. I loved this little snowman that my sister Lani built. It reminded me of Bobo who lived in our freezer for years and years in an ice cream bucket. Sky had built a HUGE snowman and when it started melting in the sun, he rescued it and stored it in the freezer. Many a primary singing time it came when we sang. Once there was a snow man snow man snow man.... Love it Lani!
We Plano Thiots
Dick and I have loved going on walks and have so enjoyed the creative art work on the side walks. With our big rain, the sidewalks are cleared ready for new art to go on. We drove over to Cousin Pammy's to check up on them, and their side walks were magnificent. We loved it and decided we need to start carrying chalk to comment on the art we love. Way to go Royal family. Well done! Seminary has been a blessing to have rolling on Zoom this week. I love getting to see my class and getting to teach these great lessons from the Book of Mormon. I've got a lot to learn about figuring out this zoom buisness but hopefully I can. We talked about how important it is to "preserve" our records this week. I showed them a jar of cherries that have been in this jar for way to long, but are still sealed and preserved. By recording our stories and writing down things of importance to us, we too are preserving. Dick's new sign for his new builidng arrived this week and he was sure pleased with how it turned out. Thanks Sky for helping him design such a snappy sign. It looks great. Dick still fills safe about working from his office. He's sure glad they aren't in that big office anylonger where it would not be safe. This small office is good. Have a great week everyone. I'm so grateful we can join our fast with the world today as we fast for the health and safety of eachother. Sure love you, Robynn
