Our Mansfield Thiots
Happy Week of Halloween from Mansfield.  Yes, the Wizard of Oz was a very fun theme this year for our Mansfield Thiots.  Becky was the Scarecrow and Ricky the Lion. Unfortunately no photo of all five of them.  Perhaps on Halloween night.  Lowkee, Nana and Papa's dog is having a vacation with them and he promised to be the tin man for trick or treating.  Very fun!  Girls, you look Fabulous!
Our Medford Granges
Our Medford Granges had the Star Wars theme going on.  Oh my goodness, I love Tatia's death star tummy.  Skyler guessed that the twins may be Luke and Leah.  Oh my!  Jake has sure turned them all into Star Wars Fans.  Even little Charlie as Yoda!  No masks allowed for trunk or treat so you can tell that Max was a fine Darth Vader and Miss Penny looks great as Rhea.  I've never seen a finer Chewbacka Jake! Oh Mister O, you look terrific too!
Our Carmichael Thiots
Trunk or Treat in Carmichael is a BIG Deal!  Charlie and some fun guys did an amazing show of some mad scientists inventions.  Everybody loved it.  Keelie had two side kicks in the 3 little piggies and Luigi had Mario to team up with.  I simply adore their pumpkin wearing Charlie's wig and your window is soooooooo spooky!  Well Done Carmichael! Ooh my goodness, guess what?  That pumpkin head who I thought was wearing Charlie's wig, is really CHARLIE!!! Oh  my goodness, please forgive me for calling you a pumpkin head:)
Our LA Thiots
It's a Whole New World in LA this weekend.  I new about Adelaide dressing up as Jasmine, but I had no idea about Stacy as the Genie and Pierce as Aladdin and our darling monkey Jackson!!!!! Oh you made Grammy's day when I got this photo!  You all four look MARVELOUS!!!!  So very very fun!  Way to go!
Our Oak Lawn Thiots
And look who just snuck out of the Hundred Acre Woods for Halloween.  It's Kara, aka Winnie the Pooh and her sweet little side kick, Piglet.  Oh my goodness. girls, you are both adorable!  I can't wait for Halloween to see who daddy turns into! They had a fun day on Saturday at Fright fest at Six Flags and don't think they frightened a single person.  They are darling!

We Plano Thiots
I have a funny story to share.  I woke up early on Saturday morning, (no surprise) and thought about planning a Halloween Party.  I had the list of who to send invites to made in my mind, I had thought we could each bring a pot of our favorite soup to share and I was going to  make bread sticks shaped like fingers to eat.  Then after dinner, we were going to build Halloween Haunted Houses out of chocolate graham crackers.  I had thought of some games we could play and I even wrote a poem for the invitation telling you that you could wear your costume if you dared after you brought of pot of soup to share.  I was so excited until I discovered that I already had a commitment on Sunday night when I wanted to host it, and so tried to switch to Saturday night then discovered that everybody else had trunk or treat.  UGGGGGG,  I was a bit disappointed.  Halloween during the week is tricky.  It's not easy to host Halloween when school is the next day.  I do want  you to know that I really wanted to do something super fun.  Perhaps next year will work.

Miss Elie and I got invited to a Halloween Party this coming Tuesday with 4 other 2 and 3 year olds.  We get to read the Story of Little Boo! and bring a game to play.  We are getting excited. We've been working on a poem to share withe the kids, Pumpkin Pumpkin big a round, I'm glad you grow upon the ground, for if you grew up in a tree, I'd be afraid you would fall on me!   I hope you have had a fun week preparing for Halloween and that your plans work out better than mine.  Sure love you,  Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
My phone rang on Monday afternoon and it was Ricky Thiot calling from the parking lot of Six Flags over Texas.  It was Fright Fest and apparently every person in the Dallas Fort Worth area had decided to bring their families.  The parking lot was packed which meant the lines would be LONG!  Becky had found on Craigs List a pair of Dorothy, think red sparkly shoes, just the right size for our Miss Harper's halloween costume so they decided to head north.  The girls weren't excited to go shopping so they opted to come to Grammy's House.  It was truly my BEST DAY!  I loved having three little ladies for a couple of hours.  We did a bit of crafting, a lot of visiting and read one of our favorite fall stories.  Oh, how I loved having these girls here with me.  Thank you Ricky and Becky for sharing them.  When Dick got home we headed to Panda Express for a yummy dinner together and then sent them back home to get ready for bed and back to school on Tuesday!

Our Medford Granges
Miss Penny's Stake Activity Day girls planned a Daddy Daughter Date.  I had noticed it in the announcements when I was in Medford earlier this month.  It said you could dress in your favorite 50's clothes.  I knew that meant poodle skirts.  Penny and I made a plan to make her one.  Unfortunatley, time ran out on our trip and so Grammy made it here and mailed it to Penny just in time for her daddy daughter date last night.  Oh she looked so cute and had such a fun time.  Tatia went to the doctor this week and guess what?  Both Baby A and Baby B have got their heads down.  Last time they were both heads up, this will be good if they can stay that way!  Max has some great news, after wishing and wishing for a loose tooth, he has a loose tooth!  Horray for Max! Tatia is enjoying the Girls Weekend at her house.  The girls went to see the play Hair Spray and Tatia said it was really fun to spend the afternoon with grown ups!

It was Keelie's turn to be t he team captain at Soccer on Saturday.  She looks most official standing there and helping everyone know where they should be and what they should be doing.  Go Keelie! Callum is working on a project for trunk or treat.  It's kind of a secret so hopefully I can tell you more about it next week!

When Stacy sent this picture to me this week, it put the biggest smile on my face.  Miss Adelaide's cast came off last week, but her arm was still feeling weak.  When I saw her doing the rings at the beach, I suddenly knew, ALL IS WELL!!!  Happy Day!  That arm is as strong as the other and she could flip herself around and around.  Go ADELAIDE!!!

Miss Elie has had a crummy cold this week.  It seems like when the weather changes, our bodies don't know quite what to do and a cold and cough move in.  I have to say, for not feeling her best, she is a very cheerful little girl.  May I share with you a miracle that happened on Thursday?  I know Thursday is not my usual Elie Day but I was dropping a friend at t he Love Field Airport early Thursday morning and that is simply too close to not stop by Miss Elie's home.  I asked Sky if there was any way she could come stay with me and he finally agreed.  On the way home Elie said Food.  When she is hungry, food is how she lets you know.  We stopped by McDonald's and had a hash brown and a bite of a biscuit, then she wanted to try the play ground.  I will admit to you, that I have never taken her alone to the play ground.  Those slides and tunnels are high and I know my limits that there is no way I could climb up that high to rescue her if she were stuck.  I said a little prayer and up she went, she came back down the slide and seemed to have it figured out.  I quite worrying and let her try the other side.  I had to give her a boost to get her up the first step, and then she was off climbing to the top.  When she was ready to come back down, it was too far for her feet to touch and she yelled, "Help me Grammy!"  Oh no, my worst fear coming true.  You see we were alone in the McDonald's play ground and I was not sure what to do.  Again i began to pray and was sure I could help Elie be brave and jump.  It was only about 10 inches and I've seen that girl jump.  I started to coach her, Jump Miss Elie Jump.  Her reply was Help Me Grammy!  Just then, a young man about Sky's age walks into the play ground area with his cup of Hot Chocolate and his cell phone.  No Children, all alone.  I knew exactly who had sent him in that play ground.  I bet you know too.  I asked him if he felt like being a Rescue Ranger and he agreed when I pointed to our miss Elie up up high.  It was not easy for him to shimmy up those platforms, but he did it very carefully and got to the 8th one and gently helped miss Elie down each one until she was safely back on the ground.  I hugged both him and Miss Elie and thanked him profussley.  What a miracle, he came to MacDonalds in the early bird hours, all alone, and came to the play area to catch up on his messages.  Oh my, there are no coincidences in this world.  Miss Elie and I will forever be grateful for our Rescue Ranger.  THANK  YOU!!!!

This week was the BYU Management Society's Golf Tournament.  Dick sponsored a team of golfers and they played very well.  He had a great afternoon and the weather made it so pleasant too.  This week in Seminary, We are studying the book of Luke which means we were able to celebrate the birth of the Baby Jesus.  That is my all time favorite scripture story and I couldn't resist bringing my box of Nativity costumes and outfitting my whole class in "Bible Wear" we called it.  They were such good sports and we loved reading the story all dressed up as if we had truly been there on that sacred holy night.  Have I told you how much I love teaching seminary?  It's such a great way to start my day each weekday morning.
My sweet nephew Josh sent me some old family photos yesterday.  They were taken 28  years ago this month.  I loved seeing three little boys in a bubble bath with bubble beards on.  I wonder if that is when they all decided that in 28 years they all three would be sporting beards.  he he he.  Then the photo of my dad on Dick's bike with Pierce on the back and me beside them made me smile.  Mom and Dad were just returning home from serving as missionaries in the Indianaplis, Indiana Mission.  It was great to remember.  Thanks Josh!

It's Beginning to feel a bit like Autumn Time

I love Coach Ricky's awesome soccer cleats

Our Mansfield Thiots
We woke up to a very chilly Saturday morning which was wonderful.  We invited ourselves to Harper and Addison's next to the last soccer games.  They were at 11 and 1 with practices the hour before.  We were able to attend a baptism for a sweet little girl in our ward and then dashed home, changed clothes and headed south to Mansfield.  We arrived and the first player I spied was a darling tall blonde pony tail girl with the number 10 on her back.  It was Addison and she was about to score a goal.  Oh my goodness, Graypa, you simply couldn't have timed our drive any better.  I LOVED being there to cheer for that darling girl!  Go Addison!  I walked over to the play ground where Brooklyn was leading a group of younger children in a fun game.  She doesn't enjoy watching soccer but loves to coach these cute kids in bungy ball.  I loved watching and then she showed me her treasure she had found.  this beautiful big pink rock that sparkled inside.  WOWSERS!!! It didn't photograph as well as it looked in real life.  But it was nice.  Brooklyn's scripture bag has been in need of replacement.  I had bought this one at the quilted bear years ago and offered it to her.  She was delighted and so I took it to the soccer game to give to her.  She was so happy.  Next it was time for Harpers game and Ricky is her coach.  He loves coaching her team.  They played a good game but were not able to score a goal.  The blue team scored and scored.  It was still fun watching them play.  Ricky did a good job of keeping their spirits high even without being on the score board.  The Mansfield Thiot's have a tradition.  Which ever of the girls scores the most goals, they get to choose where to go for lunch afterwards.  Addison chose In and Out burgers with a bit of encouragement from Graypa.  It was yummy.  It was so good to spend time with our Mansfield Thiots!

Fall is in full swing in Medford.  This first photo is not acturally there but it's how I picture it.  I'll bring the apple cider and you bring the marshmellows.  Yum!  Tatia's crew has been busy getting ready for the Granges Girls Getaway that Tatia is hosting.  The kids are helping her get the house clean from top to bottom.  Such good workers they are.  Max scored his dream hair cut this week.  His first buzz and he couldn't be happier.  Way to go!  Good luck on preparing for your company!
Our Carmichael Thiots
Keelie had a soccer tournament this weekend.  Charlie designed t-shirts for he and Callum to wear to support Kellie's team!  Way to go Charlie!  He also got to use his birthday lunch box for the first time to pack full of snacks and lunch to munch during the games.  Go Keelie!  What a fun family!

This was the week that Adelaide got her cast off.  Horray, Horray!  It was still pretty sore and so what a wise doctor, he put a nice brace on it to keep her protected and help it to grow stronger.  She and my sister Laurie, are both sporting those matching braces.  OUCH!  Be careful,  We want everyone to have a better Autumn than FALL!  I loved this photo Pierce send on his trip last week.  He went to Budapest to help film a commercial and while there got to see Stacy's Parents and her brother and his wife too.  WHAT a BONUS!!!!  He loved it! Also in Adelaids picture notice the awesome cindeblock wall that Pierce has spent the last several weeks constructing.  I'm so proud of him.  I love the way Adelaide and Jackson have decorated the wall.  WELL DONE!

Miss Elie and I did a bit of ministering on Wednesday.  One of our friends had fallen and broken her arm.  Something must be in the air, and so we took her a set of our favorite do a dot markers to paint with to cheer her up.  Unfortunately, she wasn't home when we arrived but we left them for a surprise.  We came home and Elie wanted to take a bubble bath in my tubby.  It was a perfect way to spend the afternoon and then she loved sorting my sea shells.  She is one fun girl.  Thanks for sharing her with me Kara and Skyler!

Dick left early last Sunday  morning for a weeks business trip.  He started in beautiful Boston had a lovely lobster dinner in Maine one night  and then flew to Minneapolis Minnesota on Tuesday and then home on Friday.  He discovered fall, just starting in Boston but in full swing in Minnesota.  Beautiful!  He did several presentations and met with potential customers.  He came home hopeful for some new business.  He promised me that fall is on its way to Texas too.  Our temperatures have cooked way down and we couldn't be happier.
I had a good week home alone.  I was invited to two concerts by my Seminary students.  A choir concert at Jasper High on Monday and an Orchestra Concert on Thursday night.  I think I'm getting my cultural arts in.  I loved seeing my students perform and was tickled I was invited to come.
Miss Elie and I found a pink pumpkin at Home Goods this week.  It looks so pretty in my living room next to  my  mom's picture.  My mom loved pink and we knew she would love this pink pumpkin too.
This last picture is one of my favorites.  You might think that strange, but there are fourteen seats ready for 14 customers to have dinner at Taco Bueno.  The number 14 is very near and dear to my heart as our 13th and 14th Grandchildren are preparing for their arrivals.  I told Dick that we could fit all of our grand kids at this table one day.  He thinks I'm nutty, but I'm sure he loved thinking about that too.  Brooklyn, Keelie, Addison, Callum, Penny, Harper, Max, Adelaide, Oscar, Jackson, Elinor, Charlie, and Baby A and Baby B, we LOVE you! Let's all go to Taco Bueno! Have a Happy Week Ya'll! SLY Robynn
