Our Mansfield Thiots
It's been so fun to see the Mansfield Thiots more this week with the Granges in town.  We loved having them at Charlie's birthday party on Saturday and the talent show was extra fun with them participating.  Loved the pool party and just seeing all these Grands together is very very fun for this old grammy.  They are in getting ready to go back to school mode.  All three girls will be at different schools this year.  Three different start times, but Becky and Ricky will do great.  Back to school night will be interesting, oh how I remember crazy nights like that.  What fun!!!!

Our Medford Granges
After counting down the days for nearly a month, the day arrived when Tatia and her four littles flew from Medford to Francisco and then on to Dallas.  HORRAY!  The fun has not stopped for a  minute except to sleep at night.  We are grateful for every minute we get to spend together.  Tatia said they were very very good travelers and I believe it.  They are very fun kids.  We've enjoyed packing lots of memories together each day.  That may need it's very own post.  Jake is at home working and taking care of the new kitty which has adopted their family.  It's a black tuxedo cat they  named mittens. We all miss Jacob and wished he could have come too.

Our Carmichael Thiots
Our Keelie has been taking a summer acting class and has loved it.  The performances were this weekend and Keelie scored a leading roll.  She has enjoyed it so much and has worked so hard to memorize her lines and learn all the music.  What a talented girl you are miss Keelie!  I wish I had been there to watch.  Thank you for sending lots of pictures.  I loved seeing them.  Callum went on a quick get away with his grandparents to visit a great grandmother.  Can't wait to hear all about it.

Our LA Thiots
Ever since I heard that our Pierce was featured in the August issue of BYU Magazine, I've been sitting by my mail box every day for a few weeks waiting for it to arrive.  Oh my, it was worth the wait to see his cute picture in there and to read all about his Adventures in Advertizing that the past 12 years have brought into his life.  He is so humble about his accomplishments that I don't always know about them and so this has been a treat to have my own copy.  I'm hoping to get it autographed and laminated soon.

Our Oak Lawn Thiots
We loved having Sky be our Master of Ceremonies at Charlie's Daniel Tiger Birthday Party.  He was amazing as he had a snappy joke to go between performances and we loved Miss Elie sharing her baking talent.  With the help of her magic oven, and her wonderful mommy, she make cookies in 3 minutes flat.  Oh my goodness, they were delicious and all shaped like Mister Rogers neighborhood.  My face hurt from smiling so hard at all the performers.  I loved it!

We Plano Thiots
We loved having  my sister Lani join us for the weekend too.  Originally, Tatia was going to drive to Texas.  Jacob was going to drive with her to Salt Lake, then Lani was going to be her co pilot on to Dallas.  When Tatia decided to fly instead of drive, Lani still came and we LOVED having her here.  Anytime Lani is in a room, life is simply more fun.  She has a gift about her that is almost electric.  Everyone loves to be with her.  She has forever been the favorite auntie and this new generation is no different.  We all adore her.  thank you for coming Lani!  We loved having her at the Zoo, the American Girl Store and we loved her help assembling meals for Feeding the Starving Children.  We were sad to say goodbye on Sunday afternoon.  Thank You Lani for coming!!!!!  I hope you have had a good week too.  We have one more week with the Medford Granges and I can't wait to enjoy every minute.  SLY Robynn

Disneyland 2019

SanDiego Temple being renovated

LA Temple, soooooo pretty
Our Mansfield Thiots
It's sure good to have the Mansfield Thiots back in Texas!  We  missed them a bunch and we loved picking them up at the airport last Sunday afternoon.  Each of them from oldest to youngest got to share their favorite parts of their trip.  Oh my goodness, they really packed a lot of fun into their get away.  I hope they have had some quiet and calm days since they've been back to rest up from their vacation.  Welcome Home Mansfield!

Our Medford Granges
Only TWO more days until the Medford Granges will arrive in Dallas.  We can hardly wait to have them come.  My little sister Lani is coming the next day, so the fun will only mulitply in goodness.  It going to be great.  Tatia has everyone packed up and Saturday night she and Miss Penny had a girls night out at the play Freaky Friday.  As you can see from their smiles, they really enjoyed the play and especially the girls together time.  Can't wait to see you all!

I had to smile when I noticed Keelie wearing her twirling skirt we made many years ago!  Love it!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Charlie, Keelie and Callum, packed up their Disney shirts and headed south to LA on Friday.  They are spending the weekend with Pierce's family.  From their faces, you can tell what a great time they are having too.  Stacy gave the boys permission to go to Disneyland without her and trusted them to return with all four of the children they took.  What fun to be with cousins at the happiest place on earth.  It made me smile all day just thinking about those two Thiot families being together.  Yippee!
Pierce's autobiography written in 5th grade

Adelaide off to her day of Beach Camp

Jackson was wishing he was old enough to go too!

Our LA Thiots
Earlier this week, I was doing a bit of organizing of my grandchildren's photo alblums and came across this book that my Pierce had made in the 5th grade.  It was his autobiography and was filled with his very own words and photos from his life.  What a treasure.  I stoped what I was doing and sat down and read every single word and then snapped pictures of each page and sent them to him.  I'm sure it was not appreciated at the very early hour he received them, but I hope he did enjoy reading them.  Life has not turned out quite like his 10 year old self pictured it, but even though he isn't an astraunaut, circling the planets, he is a mighty happy man.  One of his commercials was recently nominated for an Emmy award.  He's got my vote for sure!  Congratulations PJ!

Miss Elie is enchanted by cup cake papers.  She entertains herself for a long time with them!

While the Rangers were at Spring Training in Arizona this spring, you may recall that Dick was blessed to attend a game there and he loved it.  Now what he didn't tell me until this week, was that he had mistakenly purchased tickets for the Diamondback/Ranger game in July.  He thought it was the April game he wanted to attend.  But to make a long story short, he was lucky enough to go this week too and this time with two of his boys, and Keith from the Office.  Even though the score was not what they had wished, when you are at the ballpark and it's the last season the Rangers will play there it was a really good time.  It's always great to have Skyler there as he is a walking Wikipedia about each of the players and all the good stuff you want to know.  What fun to spend a nice HOT night in Arlington!  I loved my Elie Tuesday and Kara, Elie and I got to meet up for a girls night out for dinner when I delivered Elie back to her mama.  I loved it.
My friend Lynell called and told me this sweet quote. I couldn't wait to write it on my chalk board!

Grandpa with his siblings

rolls for primary raising away.  They are baking now and it smells like heaven here.

My dining room table is all set for our Pioneer Day feast

New umbrella which made us get the table which made us get the chairs
We Plano Thiots
This has been quite a week in Plano.  It started off with me wanting a new umbrella to go on our picnic table out back.  Shade is a good thing in this hot weather and I thought with our company coming we might enjoy that.  I found a great one at Sams Club and brought it home, but guess what? It would not fit on my old patio table.  That table is one a neighbor gifted me many moons ago and my dad had even welded it back together for me and so it was kind of sentimental.  But when the umbrella wouldn't fit, and when it was again not very safe for sitting at, we decided to see if we could replace it.  After replacing it, we discovered the the old chairs didn't look quite right so now we are the owners of a new umbrella, a new table and six new chairs.  Oh my, what a great blessing a new umbrella was.
It's Pioneer Day this coming Wednesday, and in Primary for today, I was invited to share a pioneer story with them.  How can you share a Pioneer Story without having a delicious homemade roll to munch on while you listen.  I've been up since 5 making tiny pioneer day rolls.  Dick just laughs at me as well he should.  He is using my Pioneer Story for the spiritual thought in  his meeting this morning and took little pies to wish the brethren a Happy PIE oneer Day too.  Fun!
Friday was my Grandpa's 133rd Birthday.  You might ask, how do you remember how old he would be?  Well, Grandpa was born 100 years apart from my Pierce.  I loved thinking about him all day as I served in the temple.  I could feel his spirit close by.  I love Orval Edwin Birks and love his good example to me and our whole family.  He worked hard his whole life and taught my dad the same thing.  I love you Grandpa Birks!
I hope your week has been filled with goodness and if it hasn't been, I hope you can find some goodness along the tricky parts of life.  My car spend a few days in the shop and it's probably about time to start looking for a replacement.  I love that car and hope it will last a few more years.  Have a great Pioneer Day on the 24th!  SLY Robynn
