Our Mansfield Thiots
Yesterday was our sweet summertime girl Addison's 10th Birthday.  Her Nana and Papa hosted her birthday party at their lovely home and swimming pool.  Lots of darling girls came and swam and participated in belly flop contests and  all kinds of fun.  They had a great time and Ricky grilled burgers on the grill.  Addison designed her own birthday cake and Sister Sams Club Bakery did a great job of baking a delicious cake for all to enjoy.  Addison is very much a Sunshine Girl.  She loves everything about summer time and with her beautiful blond hair, she looks like Summertime.  I was so glad Nana and Papa hosted round two of the birthday for a family party later in the afternoon.  Skyler and Elie came with Graypa and I.  Kara had a previous commitment and was surely missed.  Miss Elie LOVED the swimming pool and was darling.  We had  a great time and loved Nana and Papa's beautiful new home.  A storm came upon us just as we were done swimming and we got to go inside and watch the storm from all directions with their wonderful windows that look out at the sky and their gorgeous yard.  Oh my, that was a treat to have our very own fireworks show from heaven.  Loved your party Addison and we LOVE YOU!

Our Medford Granges
It was Imagine Week in Medford.  That means everyone could choose a project to do and do it.  What fun it was to have so many fun ideas and see the great imaginations these Grange kids possess.  I loved seeing all the photos and couldn't wait to share them with you too.  Penny loves to water color like her mama does, and she opened up a water color school where she taught lessons to all interested.  Max loved the class and did some great work.  I loved that Oscar wanted to be a robot and made an awesome costume to wear.  Charlie boy wanted to be a framed picture and he is a darling one.  I can hardly wait until these kids are at my house.  Only 23 more days!  Yipeee!!!!!!

I have to admit that Callum's s'more photo inspired me to make s'more kits this week to take to the temple and to take to our Self Reliance group tonight.  Thanks Callum Jay!  Nothing says summer time much better than having marshmallow and chocolate across your face.  YUM!  These kits have two half graham crackers, a flat marshmallow and a party sized chocolate bar.  Put it together and slip into the microwave for 17 seconds, and BINGO, you have one tasty treat.   Wish I could hand each of you one to test it out.  So yummy!

Thursday was our Pierce's 33rd Birthday.  WOWSERS!  What a great 33 years it's been to have him in our family.  We are so blessed! Pierce is holding down the fort at home while Stacy was a blessing to her sister Katie in Spokane Washington who was blessed with her third baby boy early this week.  Stacy and Katie's mama is in Bulgaria serving as a Humaniarian Missionary with their Daddy and so Stacy and her other sister Jordan were blessed to take her mama's place and go help Katie with her new baby Callen.  I loved these pictures she shared with me of the big brothers and the baby brother. There is nothing so sweet as a brand new bundle from heaven.

When Miss Elie came to play on Tuesday, she brought with her a favorite stuffed animal, Miss Teddy Green.  She loves her and I was so touched to learn that Miss Green used to belong to Kara's Nana and when she passed away a few years ago, Kara became the owner of Miss Green.  Miss Elie loves her and sleeps with her each night and so it was a bit disurbing when she got left behind at Grammy's house on Tuesday night.  We took good care of her and she slept in Elie's crib with mister tiger and had a good sleep.  The next day, Grammy  made a plan to meet up at El Fenix as it was Wednesday for dinner to return Miss Green To Miss Elie.  Now if you are going to El Fenix, you want to have a bit of fiesta spirit on, so we sewed her this darling skirt and made her a matching headband.  I will tell you, she looked really cute.  When Miss Elie saw her she was delighted and quickly removed her head band as Miss Elie prefers to not wear them either.  I laughed out loud.  How I love our tiny Elie.  Happy to report, they are living happily together again.

We have things looking quite festive and patriotic around here and it makes me smile. I've always loved red white and blue as you would know if you've ever visited my home.  It's fun to have flags flying and stars and stripes abounding.  We are looking forward to a fun week ahead.  I hope you are too.  SLY Robynn

Five Years Since Mom's Heaven Day

Wednesday, June 26, 2019

This week marks Five Years since my mom was picked up by angels and went to heaven.  Even though it's been five years, I can often feel her close by.  This weekend when my girls wanted to sew new outfits for their dolls, we went up to my sewing room and I told the girls about their gigi and how she loved to sew doll clothes.  We talked about her bride doll that is standing in  my living room and how she sewed her dress out of her very own bridal gown.  My  neice Krista nicknamed my mom, The Doll Clothes Queen or Queen of the Doll Clothes.  She is right.  We pretended that she was with us as we sewed together.  So may wonderful lessons my mom taught me by simply doing.
How I love you Mom.  How missed you are here on earth.  I'm glad Heavenly Father lets you linger close by to us all.

Ricky had a business conference in Las Vegas this past week, and Becky flew in to join him for a quick weekend.  The girls came to my house and we had such a nice time together.  The time simply went by too quickly.  Before we knew it, it was time to pack up and get ready for Ricky to come and pick them up.  Let me share a few highlights.  We begin at a favorite spot, the American girl store.  So fun.  Even the potties have a spot to hand up your girls while you are there.  Everyone had to try it out.  We loved getting to put together meals for Feeding the starving Children.  We learned a lot and loved getting to serve.  We enjoyed our traditional donut holes on Saturday morning and loved it when Miss Elie and her parents came over for a dip in the pool.  A BIG Texas thunderstorm, got us OUT of the pool and off to see TOY STORY 4.  We loved it and Graypa treated us to popcorn and icees, YUM! Sunday was super as we took turns drawing activinties out of our Sunday Can. Everyone wasn't excited at first, but we all loved it.  I loved watching the girls take a drawing lesson on line and draw dumbo flying.  AWESOME!   Monday we went to the library and then joined Graypa and his office for lunch at Austin Avenue Grill.  We got to watch the final few minutes as Team USA won the soccer game against Spain.  Go USA!  After a trip to the green park it was time to pack up and meet up with Ricky back at home.  WE had a wonderful time and Ricky and Becky did too.

Summer is in full swing in Oregon.  It's warm enough for some swimming in the pool and they have made a goal of finding a new play ground each week.  If you look closely at the photo, it's baby charlie up on the highest platform.  He has no idea he is the baby.  What a great time everyone had all together at the park.  On one sunny afternoon, they decided to open a Lemonade Stand and made 23.00 in sales.  After paying for supplies and additional workers who came in droves from the neighborhood, they each made 3 bucks.  WOWSERS!! What a fun afternoon that was.  Way to go kids!

It's been a great week in Carmichael too.  The ward hosted the annual ward Loo Ohhh and what fun the kids had wearing Charlie's outfits from the Philippines.  Wish I could recall the name of them.  They had a fun night with cooking s'mores on their camp fire and maybe my favorite was making some patriotic tye dyed t-shirts.  They have really got some great tye dye skills.  I'm so impressed.  My mom would be totally impressed she loved doing fun projects like that too.  Way to go!

Our LA Thiots
As I told you earlier, it's been a very fun birthday two months in LA  Stacy began the fun in May followed closely by mothers day and then with Jackson's birthday and then it was Father's day and then it was Adelaides birthday and now this week Pierce will celebrate his big day!  WOW.  They decided a trip to the farm would be a fun way to celebrate all the birthdays.  So off to the farm they went to pick strawberries and carrots and eat as many as they could along the way.  I'm not sure if they weighted the kids coming in and then leaving to know how much to charge but it looks like they enjoyed themselves a LOT! What fun!

I'm ashamed to say, I didn't take any photos of Saturdays swim party when Sky and Kara joined us.  Take my word, we had lots of fun and the JDAWGS on the grill were delicious.  We love making JDAWGS and thinking of my dad who loved Hot Dogs and is named Jay.  Perfect!  Miss Elie enjoyed a day at the park with our new friends on Tuesday and Kara has just one week of Summer School left.  Yippee!  They are planning a trip to Argentina next week and Miss Elie gets to come stay with me a few of the days and her other Grammy and aunties the other days.  Can hardly wait!

Miss Elie's play ground buddys brought us over a HUGE bowl of Thai Soup this week.  We shared if with several of our friends and it was delish! We loved going to feed the Starving Children Friday night.  Ben and Rebecca and their kids joined us and we made a terrific Team Thailand.  WOWSERS!  I loved being there and doing some good for those in need.
I saw this sign in Home Goods when I stopped after taking Miss Elie to meet her mommy.  I have to tell you, if you looked at my house today, and peeked in my oven, you would agree that there must be a LOT of Happy Kids here.  It's been a great week, and I've loved getting to spend time with some of my Grandchildren!  Hope your week has been blessed too.  Love, Robynn
