Happy Heaven Day Mom!

Today is June 26, 2018 and it marks four years since Gram returned to Heaven.  A friend of mine told me that instead of calling it her Death Day, she calls it her Heaven Day.  That made my heart happy when she told me that and I wanted to share that with you today on Gram’s Heaven Day.  I found  a list I made right after Mom died of things Gigi loves, I wanted to share with you and maybe we can add to it today.

Just yesterday I felt her near.  I’ve been making a play rug for Pierce and Jackson for their birthdays, and I was to the finishing part where you needed some smart brain cells to design the road ways and give it all some direction.  I invited Sky to come help me and he was too busy to come and so I simply put on mom’s pretty pink bath robe and spread it out on the dining room table and guess what, she came and helped me design the roads and connect it all together.  I love that Heaven is not far away and I love that she can slip in often when I need her most.  Happy Heaven Day Mom, Thank you for teaching me all the things that make life worth living.

 Our Mansfield Thiots
For the past three months, Our Thiot Times has been kind of hit or miss.  Mostly miss as I can't seem to wrap my brain around many things that used to be so easy to do.  I thought maybe it would be good to just jump in and not try to catch up today.  Last Saturday  Graypa and I were invited to a delightful, artistic and very fun 9th Birthday Party for Addison.  She requested an ART and Create Party and Ricky and Becky did not disappoint.  They started out by painting a darling little scene that came with it's own easel.  They all did a wonderful job.  Then they played a came where they did portraits, and everyone drew a different part of their face.  It was so fun and they turned out great!  Then it was snack time and decorate your own birthday cupcake, soooooo cute and then the icing on the cake was they each made their very own tie dye t-shirt.  Oh my goodness.  Addison, you chose a very fun party.  I loved being there and meeting many of your darling friends.  I am so glad Graypa and I could be the helpers.  This week the two younger gals, got to attend Vacation Bible School with friends from school.  It was held at the church where they play soccer.  They loved learning some new songs and loved the Bible Stories.  They are packing up this week for their BIG trip to Utah and Idaho.  They leave Tuesday morning and head to Yellow Stone Park, Rex-burg Idaho and some River Rafting in between.  Be Safe and we will see you on Sunday for the Reunion!

Our Charlottesville Granges
This has been a week of LASTS in Charlottesville.  It's been both exciting and hard to think of leaving their home in Charlottesville and making the move clear across the country to Medford Oregon.  Yes our Charlottesville Granges, will soon become our Medford Granges.  They have loved living in Virginia.  It's a beautiful place and is filled with so many good memories.  They have made friends who will be friends for a lifetime.  They have doubled their children while living there and will be moving with two Virginia boys who will have Charlottesville in their hearts forever.  This week they have tried to do all the things they love, just one more time.  They've taken scooters to the church parking lot and had a blast riding all around, they have gotten hair cuts from their favorite barbers and hair cutters, they swam in their pool one more time before giving it to some friends, they've played play dough one more time, played with favorite toys before packing them away to go on the moving van, they've had friends over to play and maybe the funnest thing is they have planned a party at Penny Park on Tuesday and invited all their friends to come and they have a Pinata!  Talk about fun.  The kids are excited as can be.  Jake's amazing parents arrived last night and are going to be helping with the final packing and the fun drive across the country.  The Granges will arrive in Salt Lake just in time for our Reunion next weekend. Be Safe Movers!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Our Last kids to start school are finally on Summer Vacation.  Carmichael Schools go the LONGEST of all of our kids but they have both enjoyed school and are both glad to be on Summer Vacation.  Swim Team is in full swing and Keelie is taking a Drama Class this summer that she is looking forward to also.  Keelie had her eyes checked last week and discovered she will be able to see better with some glasses.  GO KEELIE!  I can't wait to see you in them.  Glasses are a very good thing.  I went to the dermatologist this week and forgot my readers and had to fill out a pile of paper work.  Oh my goodness, what craziness to not be able to see very well.  I was wishing I had them. Callum and Keelie are looking forward to our family reunion and are excited to get to catch up with cousins.  Taylor and Callum are the first two Great Grandsons and I have a feeling, they are going to become instant buddies when they get together.  Keelie is looking forward to catching up with all those Girl Cousins.  What fun this will be! Safe Travels!

Our LA Thiots
This was a very good week for our LA Thiots.  On Monday our Adelaide turned FIVE years old.  It's hard to believe how quickly those five years have gone.  Oh and what a fun five year old she is.  Saturday, was the party for both she and Jackson boy who turned two a few weeks ago.  Much like the Mansfield Thiots, the LA Thiots know how to make a very fun party.  They got to play on their new blow up water slide and had water balloons like crazy and had a Taco Truck come and cater a delicious Taco Lunch.  I can't think of anything much more fun!  The kids had a blast and the day was perfect for an outdoor party.  Well, I think you could choose any day in LA for a perfect outdoor day.  One of the blessings of living in such a perfect climate.  We are looking forward to seeing our LA Thiots next weekend for our Family Reunion too.  This will be sooooo fun!  Safe Travels!

Our Downtown Thiots
What a busy week this has been for our Downtown Thiots.  Sky has had several jobs he's been busy with and the most exciting one was finishing up the book; Olivia's New Heart that he helped to write and illustrate for a new friend.  The Solis Family had a baby girl born in February who her only hope of survival was a heart transplant.  There is a little angel in heaven who couldn't stay long on earth, but gave her heart to Olivia.  Olivia's family was able to take her home from the hospital on Tuesday morning and the book is ready for pre-orders and will be shipped in July.  I was order number 19 and I'm sure there are going to be lots and lots of orders.  It's a darling book that explains to children what a heart transplant is all about.  Sky did an amazing job of illustrating and has worked so hard on getting the web site up for ordering too.  All proceeds will be given to Children's Hospital to help families dealing with hard things. Kara has helped with editing the book and I can't wait to get mine in my hands.  As they've talked on the news and in the paper this week, it's been fun to see Skyler Thiot, a Dallas Based Graphic designed get mentioned.  Go SKY!!! Thank You to my sweet neighbor Mary for sharing her copy with me.  Go Elie for your help in being patient while daddy works hard!  The World Cup Soccer games have been enjoyed.  Elie is cheering for Team France!

We Plano Thiots
Last Sunday was Fathers Day and it was the first Fathers Day in my life that I haven't been able to mail a card, or make a phone call or plan a visit to see my great dad.  I will say, it has been so hard to have him gone.  I have some voice mails on my phone that I love to replay just to hear his voice and ask me where I am and how I am doing.  I so miss our daily phone calls checking up on eachother.  It's hard to believe it's been 3 months today.  People tell me it's going to get easier and that I won't miss him so much.  I'm hoping they are right.  On Tuesday, it will be four years since my mom died.  That is quite a long time and I miss her every single day.  It's interesting how many times I want to call.  I do wish our Heavenly Father could install a phone line in heaven.  Even if it's only open once a week, I'd love a phone call from those two.
We are in the final stages of preparing for our Family Reunion,  Remember Me.  Someone asked me what our theme was and I wasn't sure we had one until I've been working on things and realized that we do.  We want to Remember of family who have passed on to heaven and we are going to learn more about them at this reunion as well as having lots of fun with our family that are here with us.  Each of us have been given an ancestor to research and share a few minutes about.

I got Alice Elvira Green.  She's my mothers maternal Grandmother.  She died when my mom was only 3 years old but my mom knew how much she loved her.  I've loved reading her story that her children wrote about her.  Aunt Alda said she was so busy making historye, that she didn't have time to write her history.   That made me smile.

We are going to take a Train Ride on the Heber Creeper and Remember Great Grandpa Birks,Edwin, Wheeldon Birks, my dad's Grandpa who was killed while working for the railroad.  He was only 29 years old, just Skyler's age and he left 3 young children and a sweet wife.  As I'm learning more about these dear ancestors, I'm loving them even more.  That's what Remember Me is all about.

I have a dear sister who I used to visiting teach and now I minister to, who is very ill in the hospital.  She is sleeping most of the days now but I love to go sit with her and hold her hand and let her know she's not alone.  I think I'm going to get dressed and go see her.  Have a wonderful day today.  Remember that I love you!  SLY Robynn

What a couple of Weeks

Sunday, June 10, 2018

Pierce took Stacy on a magical trip for their 10th Anniversary and Dick and I were lucky enough to get to have Adelaide and Jackson come and stay with us.  Talk about a busy, fun and totally exhausting time.  I loved getting better acquainted with these two California grandchildren.  They are so smart.  It was great getting to have them in our home for the past two weeks.  We dropped them at the airport yesterday and said goodbye but only for 3 weeks as we will get to see them at the Family Reunion in Salt Lake.  YAHOO!
