Our Mansfield Thiots
I had a fun Tuesday afternoon with our Mansfield Thiot girls.  Miss Elie and I were able to go pick them up from school and with Addison and Brooklyn navigating, we found a 7-11 for a slurpie.  It was a nice warm day and they tasted really good.  We even stopped at McDonald's for some fries to go with our Slurpee.  Miss Elie is a french fry lover and that was fun.  Then we came back and made some cup cake wrapper flowers.  They turned out gorgeous and even though we had made them last year, everyone loved making them again.  What fun Tuesdays are in Mansfield. I love where you live girls!

Miss Penny is turning 7 this very week
Our Charlottesville Thiots
With all the chilly and raining days that Virginia has had this month, it has brought some glorious Dogwood tree blossoms.  Jake and Tatia have a huge tree right outside the children's bedroom windows that is amazing.  On Saturday, they took some pictures of the kids in the front yard in front of the dogwood blossoms.  It was so fun to get a picture of them and see their cute house.  I have loved where they have spent the past five years, in Charlottesville, Virginia.  I have been blessed to visit many times.  They are starting the packing up process to move west this summer.

Keelie's birthday party was even more fun they she imagined.  The weather was perfect for a back yard movie night and she had many friends come.  They all loved the Worlds Greatest Showman and popcorn and treats and birthday cake.  Charlie did a great job of hosting Keelie's party and I was so happy for Keelie. Charlie's work in the back yard the past few weekends helped make it look perfect for the party.  We love where you live!  Callum took some great pictures for us and I loved the ones that he was in too.  While we were busy at a service event Saturday morning, Callum face-timed with Dick and Dick loved getting to visit with them.

Our LA Thiots
Adelaide has started back to swimming lessons this week.  She is such a great swimmer, a real live mermaid I do believe.  When I visited with them on Friday night, they were heading over to Adelaide's friend from CTR-4's , Scouts home to go for a swim.  We love that Scout has a pool and is so kind to invite them for a swim and some good practice for her swim class.  Our sweet Jackson boy loves the water too and I'm sure he will also be another great Thiot Swimmer.  I'm getting excited for their visit the end of May.  I love where you live LA Thiot's, I wish it was a bit closer to Dallas.

Our Downtown Thiots
I heard that Sky and Kara and Elie got to go to a Ranger Baseball game last weekend.  What fun to have the Rangers play not to far from where they live and close to Elie's other grandparents.  I love where you live downtown Thiots.  I just wish I was not a chicken driving downtown.  I loved my time with Elie on Tuesday.  She is starting to talk and if only she had her own translater, we could have such fun conversations.  Actually, we do have fun conversastions.  I love to hear her voice and she is so good.  She remembers what we did the last time she came and wants to do it again.  She loves having tubbies in my bath tub, riding clipclop and she loves my play phone and makes a lot of phone calls.  What a dear little girl!

Dick spent the week in Destin, Florida at the Spectrum Annual Conference.  He had 4 presentations that he made and said the last one was the very best.  Sometimes last the best of all the game is true.  He met some good new possible customers and came home excited that one lives in New Zealand.  He wouldn't mind a bit going there for a customer visit.  He loves where they live.  It's good to have him back home.
Our Stake participates in a program called "Love Where You Live".  It's sponsored by the city of Plano and helps neighborhoods who need some extra help with their yard and home.  Our stake had 3 homes on a street named Tarkio.  It was not too far from our home when we first moved to Plano 35 years ago.  During the week, they painted the homes, trimmed trees and helped make the yards look better as well as giving the families a new mailbox which looked really nice.  We had about 20 ward members come to help on the home we worked on and in 2 1/2 hours, it was quite a transformation.  I kind of wanted to take them all back to my house and see what miracles we could work here.  Many hands made a big difference.  The family we helped were so appreciative and happy.  My favorite part was we trimmed a tall boxwood hedge and I got to bring home some clippings to try to make a boxwood wreath.  No photos yet, he he he.  I do love where we live.  I hope you do too.  Have a wonderful week. Our Mansfield Thiots
Brooklyn had a couple of sick days this week with a very bad and crazy cough.  One of the days was fun and field day, which we all know is the best day of school for the year.  She felt good enough to go for part of the day ad then came home in the early afternoon.  I hope this new week is a much better one Brooklyn!  Addison and Harper felt well and had good weeks at school.  Ricky had a college buddy come into town on business and enjoyed getting to catch up with him on Thursday night and Becky had a fun evening of "Our Favorite Things" with her girl friends.  What a fun group of friends they have made in Mansfield.  That makes me happy that they have such good friends to spend time with.  Choose JOY!

Our Charlottesville Granges
Penny's bus route and times and driver were changed a few weeks ago.  That made her the very last child picked up and the very first child dropped off which gives her more time at home.  It did change the gal who she always sat with since the first day of kindergarten last year which was a bit sad for Penny.  I'm glad to report, she has made some new friends and is enjoying her shortened bus ride too.  She doesn't have to get up quite as early in the morning and has more time at home after school.  The Granges had a fun Saturday; they went to a parade, went to the children's museum, had a chocolate malt milkshake. played at the Spinny Park down town and went grocery shopping.  I bet they all slept well last night!  What fun! Choose JOY!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Charlie started with a spring yard clean up last weekend and continued on it this weekend too.  He sent me a photo of his pile of trimmings which had reminded him of his trimming project he did when he was six years old at our home in Sandy.  He's always been such a good worker man and I bet his yard is looking good.  The kids swim team is back into practice season.  Callum moved up to 7-8's which means he gets to learn the butterfly and breast stroke this year.  I bet he will be great at both.  Keelie is in her same group of 9-10's and is looking forward to a great swim season.  She told me her Thailand presentation went well on Monday.  We visited before she left for school and got to have prayer together.  I LOVED that.  Choose JOY!

Pierce reported to me early this week that last weekend he had been the Dad in charge at home.  Stacy had gone to a pinterest conference in San Diego and he and the kids packed as much into their weekend as they possible could.  He is a great dad and they love him.  They even took an afternoon/evening trip to Disney as there was a new parade beginning that night.  They didn't get home until midnight they had such a good time.  They were all three glad to see Stacy return on Sunday and say life is always best with a party of four.  Way to go PJ! Miss Elie and I had a fun day on Tuesday and we loved getting to see the Mansfield girls too.  It's always fun when we can go pick them up from school and have some play time together and then I drop Elie off at Kara's school and she gets to ride home with her mama which she loves.  She is such a good girl and it's always so fun to have her here.  She has learned to love riding our Clip Clop the Wonder Horse and is quite independent hanging on tight.  Sometimes she forgets to hand on and stays on.  Oh elie, you are a little scary.  Choose JOY!

Dick has worked extra hard this week preparing for this coming week at Spectrum.  He has 4 presentations to make and he is feeling almost ready to present.  Some times when he goes he just plans on working through the nights preparing, so this year he said he may actually get some sleep.  The conference is in Destin Florida this year and promises to be a beautiful location and hopefully he may have time to play some golf after the conference is over.  He will be gone all week.

I had my Primary Girls and their Mom's for our Mom & Me Night on Wednesday.  Talk about a fun evening.  We had 10 girls and their mama's and a bonus of two Grandmothers.  I loved it.  My house was filled up with lots of laughter and good memories.  We made Hot Fudge Sundaes for desert which were Delicious.  My friend and Primary Counselor years ago gave me her recipe and each time I make it I think of Tiffany and it never disappoints.  I made it early in the morning and my house smelled like Hot fudge sauce all day.  The next day was go to the dentist day and my dentist is always thilled when I made bread and bring strawberry jam to share with his staff.  The smell of bread baking is even better than Hot Fudge Sauce.

Friday, the temple was closed and it was my friend Letitia's birthday.  She had asked if she could come celebrate turning 48 with us.  She came and we went to visit a friend of both of ours, Mary Ann Kennedy.  She is not doing very well, and I'm not sure she even knew who we were, but it was good to spend some time with her.  She is a lovely person who I love.  Then we did a little shopping for some storage containers to help Letitia organize her stuff and then we went to the Olive Garden for dinner.  I hadn't been there for a long time and I think I had forgotten about their heavenly bread sticks.  Oh my, they were as good as ever..  We stopped at Nuthing Bunt Cake and let Letitia choose a birthday cake.  She picked Red Velvet and said it was delicious. It was nice to see her as it had been quite a while.
Saturday was our Stake Womens Conference with the theme Choose Joy.  Sister Willie Dunford spoke about the last three years of her life having had brain surgery and how it would have been easy to just give up but how hard she has fought to Choose Joy even when it's not easy.  What a wonderful example she was and what a lovely gathering of sisters it was.  I loved getting to sit next to Jill Bailey and Peggy Smiley.  It was a joyful morning.  Twice this week, the mailman brought joy to my front porch.

First my friend Mary sent a beautiful angel to watch over me and then Lani send a beautiful statue of a little girl dancing on her daddy's toes.

She had given a statue just like it to dad years ago and I was so touched that I have one now too.  What JOY!  SLY Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
Last weekend as we were saying goodbye to Charlie's family, Ricky asked me if I could watch his girls while he and Becky head to Austin for his company's Spring Gala!  Hip Hip Horray for me!  It's been so fun to have the Mansfield Grands with us this weekend.  I got to go to a very windy and very chilly soccer game with Addison and then got to bring all three girls home with me.  We stopped for lunch and some play time at McDonalds.  The big girls told me they really weren't that interested in McDonalds play grounds any more but boy did they have a fun time.  Then we headed to the 1:55 showing of Peter Rabbit.  I kept calling the girls, Floppsy, Moppsy and Cottontail and we laughed and laughed and really enjoyed the popcorn, the icie and the movie.  What fun, then we had to stop at the library on our way home for a puppet show, some i-pad time and to check out some interesting books for latter on.  The girls loves the library and it reminded me of taking Keelie and Callum last week.  There is something magical about being in a building with so many good stories.  We met Graypa and Rocky at the Green Park for some chilly and fast fun and then came home and enjoyed some little ceasers pizza and crazy bread.  Yum!  What a fun day.  They are still snoozing and then we will get to take them to church with us.  Hip Hip Horray again! Thanks for sharing your girl with us Ricky and Becky and I hope you had a Gr-8 Gala! Brooklyn had STAR testing this week in school.  She tried her very best she told me and that's all anyone can ask for!  Go Brooklyn!

Our Charlottesville Granges
Our Charlottesville Granges had a week of service and good works.  I told Tatia I was worried about her and thought she needed to kick a cat or have a nice cold diet coke to keep from being translated.  To start the week it was Max's Birthday Celebration on Monday.  Tatia was the mom helper and she loved it except for the snow that was coming down that morning while she was the car pool walker in to school mom.  Burr, but she loved being there with Maxwell James.  He is such a fun guy and loves it when it's her turn to come to school.  He loved choosing a birthday surprise from the birthday box and chose a large striped bag that included three animals, an elephant, a giraff and a zebra.  When he got home he immediately knew the giraffe would be loved by Oscar and that Penny would love the Zebra and so he re gifted to them.  What a kind brother.  Tatia took dinner to four families during the week and each time made it so fun for her kids to help too.  They found play grounds close by to the delivery locations and she is teaching them how fun it can be to serve.  I love that about you Tatia.  Today is her first week in her new calling as a Primary teacher.  She has the Valiant 9 girls and is teaching about the Temple today.  What lucky little girls to be in her class.  She printed them off a photo of the Washington DC temple that she took.  Just beautiful.  I loved it as I too Love the Temple.

Our Carmichael Thiots
As soon as our Carmichael Thiots returned home, they hit the ground running.  Swim Team is back in full force and school started right up the next day.  After two weeks off, it took a bit of getting used to to be so busy and involved in real life again.  Charlie had lots of work to catch up on but didn't seem to mind a bit.  Everyone was looking forward to the weekend and a minute to catch their breath again.  I will tell you, we've sure missed them here.  Our house was so quiet all week until our sweet Mansfield girls arrived.  Keelie and her dad are working on getting her birthday party invites addressed and into the mail for her party coming up on the 27th of the month.  What fun that will be, I'm sure.  Tomorrow is Keelie's report on Thailand in her school class.  How I wish I could be a fly on the wall and listen to her give her presentation.  She is quite remarkable and wrote a great paper about all the things she leaned about that amazing country.  I must admit, I didn't know much about it until Keelie told me so many things.  I loved reading the books with her and watching the DVD we checked out of the library about families in Thailand and going with her to interview my friend on their stay there.  I've smiled every time I hear anything about it.  Good Luck tomorrow Keelie!
Our LA Thiots
I loved having Pierce's family in town in Utah for my dad's funeral.  Pierce and Adelaide had come a week earlier as Adelaide had wanted to spend some time with Grandpa Gr-8.  I do believe she was prompted to come and I'm so very glad they did.  Adelaide is a ray of sunshine when she walks into any room.  It was a blessing to have them both there.  Dad loves Adelaide and I'm so glad she came before he departed.  She told my dad on the last night they were there to not worry, that Gigi was very close by. She is so wise beyond her years and has such as sweet connection to my mom, her Gigi.  I loved it.  It worked out nicely that Sky and Elie's stay overlapped with Pierce and Adelaide.  I loved having both my "little boys" there with their "little Girls" .  Great memories for me for sure.

Our Down Town Thiots
I got to have a Miss Elie day on Tuesday.  She is so much fun as she walks all around, can climb stairs and is just not a baby anymore.  She tries to repeat words you say and loves to talk on the play phone I have.  Maybe one of my funnest things for the day was when she found Rocky's last two packages of dog food.  They are just little individual servings and fit perfectly in her hands.  She carried them around with her and when it was time to feed Rocky the next morning I couldn't find them.  As I hunted around, I found them in the little grocery store under the stairs.  She knew where food belonged.  Rocky was thrilled that I found them too.  Kara had STAR Testing on Tuesday and said she survived.  They put a lot of pressure on students and teachers to pass the state regulated tests and she has part two in May.  Way to go!

We Plano Thiots
This was the first week I went back to the Family History Center on Thursday and back to the temple on Friday morning.  It was nice to get back to doing normal things after being gone for so many weeks. I had a nice friend stop by on Wednesday night for a hug and a visit.  She lost her mom just one year ago this month and sure understands how it feels to miss a dear parent.  She brought some beautiful carnations that I love and it was so good to have her come.  I've sure been blessed with lots of sweet cards in the mail and kind words.
My sister Laurie is starting the clean out of dad's home.  She sent a message this week if there was anything anyone was wishing for to put in their request.  I was tickeled by how many requests there were for Grandpa's coveralls.  That was his favorite and most comfortable things to wear.  Laurie found 12 pairs of them.  I think all the grandson's wishes will come true to get to have a pair to remember him.
The girls are awake and I am going to go fix some breakfast for these sweet girls.  I hope you have had a nice week and that you know how loved you are.  SLY Ro
