Our Mansfield Thiots
We loved getting to see Ricky and Becky and the girls this week.  Becky's whole family was in town for Thanksgiving as was ours and so they were wonderful dividing up their time to share with each family.  Becky and the girls and I had a fun Monday afternoon going on a boot hunt. Yes you read that right, a Boot Hunt is when you are looking for boots, in a size 3 for Miss Keelie.  We thought we knew what we wanted, but when we couldn't find them, we changed our mind to what we found and loved them even more than what we thought we wanted.  Does that make any sense at all?  It's a good way to be, thanks Keelie.  We had a fun meet up at Six Flags on Tuesday evening and LOVED going on the snow hill with them.  I'm not sure if we had more fun in line or more fun on the actual ride, but it was just plain great to be together!  Thanks for all the  miles and tolls you paid to hang with us, We love you!

Tatia's family arrived on Wednesday evening after a long day of traveling.  Their original flight was delayed two hours, which made it impossible to catch their connecting flight in Houston so the airline was kind enough to reschedule them on a direct flight which ended up arriving 30 minutes before the original flight would have arrived.  We scooped them up at the airport and met up with everyone at El Fenix for enchiladas, except Sky's family who were celebrating Thanksgiving a day early with Kara's family so they could come to our thanksgiving on Thursday. It was a bit wild as we had to wait and wait.  It's not easy cooking enchiladas for 20 people I guess.  But the cousins loved being together. We packed a lot into the next few days.  We just put them on the plane to head home a few minutes ago.  We miss you already!

Charlie's family arrived on Sunday night, 30 minutes ahead of schedule and we loved having them here.  They left to go home on Friday afternoon and it came way to quickly for us.  We would have loved them for much longer.  Keelie and Callum loved spending time with cousins, and Charlie made everyone happy by finding old toys in the attic and playing with them with the kids.  He found an entire big tote filled up with semi trucks and trailers and oh such fun.  Callum gave them a tubby and scrubbed them all up to look like new.  I was so impressed when I went in to clean the tub afterwards, and it was perfectly clean.  Charlie had scrubbed the tub after Callum scrubbed the trucks.  What a great team they are.  Thanks guys,  we miss you already too!

Pierce's family except for him arrived on Sunday afternoon and Pierce arrived in the middle of the night on Tuesday.  They came over on Wednesday and we loved getting to see them and the cousins loved playing together.  Pierce was the hero in setting up the Christmas train under the Christmas tree on Friday.  Tatia thought it would be fun for the kids to help us get Christmas set up and everyone was great helpers.  It was almost like having Santa's elves over setting up the  magic of Chrsitmas here.  Everyone loved the train, Thanks Pierce, it's been  years since it has run.  Pierce had to work his magic on Sodering the battery pack back together.  He's got some sweet skills!  Thank you all!

Elinor was enchanted with our Baby Charlie.  She couldn't believe there was someone almost her size in this world and she couldn't keep her hands away from him.  She loved hugging him and kissing him.  So very cute!  Elie got to pick out their tree this year and they picked a live Christmas tree and it goes almost to the cieling in their home.  It's very very very tall, and smells oh so good.  She is loving it and has not tipped it over YET!  We met up with family at the Christmas Lights at the Zoo on Saturday afternoon and loved seeing all the lights.  The animals had gone to bed but the lights were fabulous.  It was great fun! Tatia's kids had been wishing for Happy Meals at Mcdonalds all week and Graypa treated them to happy meals at the Mcdonalds right by the Zoo. It was way fun and had a great play ground.  Everybody was happy.  Even little Elie played on the playground.

We Plano Thiots
It's been  quite a week here in Plano, Texas.  I don't know when our house has been filled with so  many people that I love so much.  I loved looking around and seeing all those happy faces and it just made me smile. My face hurts from smiling so much.  It was truly a very Thankful Week.  Thanksgiving with our feast was delicious with so many hands to help.  I loved our Family photo Shoot before we ate.  Stacy and Tatia did a great job of fitting us all into one photo.  That is no easy job with 23 Thiots.  We loved having the Christensen's join us for Thanksgiving.  We love pretending that they too are really Thiots.  Pierce leaves tonight and Stacy and the kids get to stay until Tuesday.  We are hoping to enjoy every minute we have left.  Another bonus of the week was my sister Laurie and her hubby Mike came to town for Mike's brothers son's wedding on Friday.  They have come by a couple of times when they had some free time. We LOVED it!  My dad sent with Laurie a doll for each of the little girls from my mom's doll collections. They were thrilled and the boys each got flashlights.  They too were delighted!  Thank you Laurie and Mike for making the big effort to come see us too.  I hope you had a wonderful week of Thanksgiving too.  Sure love you, Robynn

It's been a good one in Mansfield.  It was the Wax Museum in 3rd Grade and Addison wanted to be Amelia Erhart this year like Brooklyn had been.  The whole family loved learning about her and once they discovered she was an actual relative, it made it even more special.  Ricky worked his magic on a cardboard box and many cans of shiny red spray paint and built a wonderful replica of Ameilia's plane.  We only wish the story had a happier ending for Amelia.  She is still lost and presumed dead.  Brooklyns school class had a field trip to go see the new movie WONDER that started this week.  Her class had read the book and talked a lot about it.  Kinsley's class also read it and Brooklyn and Kinsley loved talking about it last weekend at the sleepover.  Both girls were going to see it with their school classes this week.  Becky got to go as the  mom helper and she along with Brooklyn loved it too and recommend it to all.  I've got it on  my list of movies I'd like to see.

Thankful Boxes have been a blessing to many in Charlottesville 2nd Ward this week.  Tatia's Relief Society sister put together these beautiful Bountiful Boxes to bless others lives during this holiday season.  I was so happy that it turned out so nice and that they were able to help in delivering them.  It was also Saturday Service where they were able to help several widows in the ward with their fall yard work.  It was a chilly day but the whole Grange family were good workers and loved helping to rake up leaves and pull out dead plants and spruce up the yards.  Max's sunbeam teacher was working in her yard alone when they were on there way home and passed her.  I bet you know exactly what they did.  Nope, they didn't wave and say hi, They pulled that mini van over and hoped out and helped her finishe up her leaf raking and had a wonderful time showering her with their love too.  Such a great family you Charlottesville Granges.  Can't wait to see you on WEdnesday!

This has been a "crazy pants" week in Carmichael.  Charlie received a phone call on Thursday afternoon from his neighbor telling him that his home had been broken into.  The thief who Charlie has nicknamed, the Hamburgler took his little Honda car that had only been returned on Sunday from being loaned to Mackenzie's sister for the past few months.  They took strange items, such as Charlie's glasses, his iron, his laundry soap, his dryer sheets, his vacuum,  all the frozen food in the freezer including ice cream and chicken nuggets.  But besides swiping all the stuff, he took everything out of drawers and closets and turned furniture upside down and made a huge mess for Charlie to put back together.  Dick and I wanted to hop on a plane and go help but Charlie said he had this.  We all keep saying, it's only stuff, and stuff can be replaced and we are so grateful that nobody was hurt.  We are so grateful that in only 11 hours they will be landing in Texas.  Ugggg. Callum has started practicing for his Christmas program at school.  He is going to be Rudolph!  I love this shiny red nose.

While things up north in California have been crazy, things down south have been busy busy.  Pierce in in the midst of filming some commercials for Diet Coke and was hoping to be done by now but it looks like he will put his family on the plane this morning and he will come later in the week.  He promises to be here before the Turkey goes into the oven and the Pumpkin Pies are baked.  I had a face time call from Adelaide yesterday and she is so excited to come.  I can't wait to see them all.  All twelve of our grandkids will get to be together for the very first time.  Baby Charlie will get to meet all 11 of those fun cousins and they are already voting on who gets to hold him first.  Brooklyn is sure it will be her as she is the oldest.  I can't wait to have them all around the Thanksgiving table.

Our DownTown Thiots
One of the highlights of the week happened on Friday afternoon.  It was the last day of school prior to Thanksgiving Break.  In Texas we get the whole week off of school.  Very  nice, I might add.  Kara also known as the Amazing Mrs. Thiot, had been promising her classes if they would do their very best work, and stay focused, she would take them to Chick filet for lunch after school on Friday.  Can you even imagine a funner teacher if you tried?  I will add, their is a nice Chick filet within walking distance from the school, so no, she didn't have to fit them all in her little bitty car.  They walked and had a fabulous time.  Also this week Miss Elinor had a photo shoot with her dad.  I'm not sure if she was advertising for Baby Gab or Gymboree,  she is adorable. When Sky sent me the pictures I just clapped my hands right out loud and squilled.  HORRAY for Elinor!  Such a cutie pie!
I loved this sweet patron leaving the temple. Darling sister
We Plano Thiots
My favorite news of the week is the fact that after six weeks of being closed, the Dallas Temple has reopened.  We all voted that Six Weeks is too long.  It was fun to catch up with my fellow workers and hear about where everyone had been and what they had been able to accomplish over the break.  I'm so glad it's opened again and I loved being there.  As I was driving home I had the nicest feeling of why I love Fridays so much.  It was lovely being in the House of the Lord, dressed in white and serving in such a happy and loving way.  I love the Temple.
Dick was a huge help on Saturday.  He moved his office into my sewing room and now we have a combined space together so that he could put a blow up mattress in the office for some of our sleepover guests.  He did a nice job and I need to straighten up the sewing room with my stuff.  It's a bit out of control but it's kind of fun for a Thankful Week. Dick spoke as the High Council speaker in Plano 1st Ward this morning.  He did a wonderful job and brought such a great spirit to the meeting. I love Plano 1st Ward and was so glad I could sneek in and hear him speak.  We get to hear two missionaies speak in our ward at 11:00.  Brandon and Sarah Wilson are HOME!!! Horray!

My Activity Day Girls made turkeys and we delivered them to the Plano Care center for them to share on their trays during the week of Thanksgiving.  We loved doing that together.
I hope you have survived your week and that you too are looking forward to Thanksgiving.  We surely count you among our richest blessing.  SLY Robynn

Counting Down to Thanksgiving...

Our Mansfield Thiots
On Tuesday afternoon, Elinor and I picked up the big girls from school.  It makes for one fun afternoon that is for sure.  After making our Thankful tree, we talked about having a sleep over on Friday night.  Becky checked the calendar and everyone was free for the weekend and we started to make some plans.  The new movie LEAP had just arrived at the dollar theatre, and we have all been wishing to see it.  We invited our dear Kinsley to join us too and we started to get excited.  Friday night I met the girls at the Bass Pro Shop and Graypa was even available to come with us.  YEAH!  Then we headed to meet up with Kinsley at IKEA and then the fun began!  We headed to Chik filet for some tasty dinner and then off to the movie.  We all LOVED LEAP and Kinsely said it was her new favorite movie.  We all agreed.  Home to bed to spread out the sleeping bags and then everyone was up early bird style Saturday morning for donuts and strawberry milk served in Great Grandmother Jarrell's beautiful tea cups.  We loved it! Next we went out and raked up a big pile of leafs and jumped and jumped into them, then Kinsley read us her new Thanksgiving Book about Pinkalishes.  We all loved it! We had a practice session of turkey building for Gram to see if it would work for activity day girls and then we made a mad dash to the library for some Thanksgiving books to read.  Then we sewed bean bag chairs and stuffed them full of grocery bags.  We had just enough time left for a trip to the playground where Kinsley's mom picked her up in time to get to a birthday party at the swimming pool.  Oh my goodness, can we pack plenty of fun into a sleep over.  We loved it!

Monday and Tuesday were Fall Break in Charlottesville, so no school for Max and Penny.  They planned a fun trip to go to Richmond to visit with their friends who had moved away a couple of years ago.  Porter and Calvin were neighbors and such dear friends.  They invited them for a day in the BIG CITY and so they packed up their Bounce House and off they went.  They had a wonderful time and Baby Charlie was a hit with Rachel and got lots of extra hugs that day.  This was the week that the Thanksgiving Decorations went up and they have had fun thinking of their blessisngs and adding them to their Thankful tree too. Oscar figured out on Monday, that he did not have a suitcase to bring on his trip for Thanksgiving like Penny and Max have.  We had fun shopping on line for him a suitcase and he picked the cutest puppy bag I have ever seen.  He was so thrilled when it arrived ahead of schedule on Wednesday!  WOW!  Can't wait to see you Oscar with your puppy bag!  Max had letter P day on THursday and got to wear Pajamas to school and eat Pancakes.  He was thrilled to wear his HULK PJ's and had such a great letter P day! On Friday, Tatia pushed Penny's bike, and the boys road their bikes and she carried Baby Charlie to the bus stop.  The kids got to ride their bikes home from the bus stop.  Tatia said it may not happen again soon. It was a little crazy pants and we say.  What a fun week!

Charlie just sent this photo late last night after Callum's soccer game.  He scored a goal by drippling the ball through all the opposing teams players, right to the goal and SCORED!!!  Way to go Callum. Fast and Small are two great qualities of really good soccer players.  We are so proud of you Callum.  Keelie has started counting the days until they arrive for Thanksgiving. Our first two families arrive on Sunday.  Keelie, that's only six more days!  YIPPEE!!!  I think she is grateful to be flying with her family this time instead of alone, but she sure did a great job by herself.  Their school gets out all week long for Thanksgiving which will be a treat for us.  Can't wait to see you Carmichael Thiot's!

Adelaide and Jackson helped their daddy built a gingerbread turkey this week.  They had so much fun and then something Crazy happened.  The back door was open to let in some nice warm air and a cute little bird had been watching them making this gingerbread turkey and flew inside the house and started nibbling on it.  Oh  my goodness, can you even imagine the excitement that caused in their house.  Way FUN!!!!  Don't worry, they had listened to general conference and knew how to safely remove birds from your home.  he he he.  I love this turkey and I may need to head to trader joes first thing in the morning and get a kit for this Grammy.  Can't wait! When I got to face time with Pierce and the kids on Saturday, Adelaide was wearing her beautiful white dress and I told her she looked like an angel.  She layed down on their gorgeous white rug in the living room and started making snow angels on the rug.  I LOVED IT!!!!  What fun!  Jackson was walking all over the house looking for something, we weren't quite sure what but Pierce told me they are on the final two week countdown until Jackson gets to join the NURSERY at church.  We aren't sure who is more excited, Jackson or his parents:) Can't wait to see you next SUNDAY!!!!!

Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday Miss Elinor, Happy Birthday to YOU!  You're 9 months old!  Can you see the tiny rocking chair Elinor is sitting in?  It's a very special chair.  Each of my parents first grandchild in each family received one before their first birthday and were told they could share it with their siblings.  Then when the great grandchildren started coming, my parents had a dear friend, the same one who had made the original chairs make some more to have to give to the Greats.  When I went to Utah last month, I got to bring Elinor's home on the airplane with me.  Look at her face and you will have an idea of how thrilled she was to get her chair.  She can get into it and out of it all by herself and she loves it!  I just know my mom must be smiling from heaven about as she watches our sweet Elie Rae growing up.  She is such a fun little tiny girl.  I love Tuesdays when she comes to play.

In All Things Give Thanks is a lovely quote that I am enjoying this month.  We have had a really nice week and a great start to November.  One of my favorite things in my home is my Thankful tree.  I put it up early this year during October just to get my thought thinking to thank.  We made them with my activity day girls last week and we made them in Mansfield this week.  I love to add something new each day that I am Thankful for.
Dick just jumped out of bed to get ready for his High Council meeting this morning at 6:30.  He said they have five missionaries who will be reporting their missions today.  What a great morning that will be.  I wish I could go and hear them too.  There isn't anything I love much more than returned missionaries.  Such a sweet experience to hear about their adventures and things they have learned.  I hope he takes good notes to share with me.

Our new shower door arrived on Wednesday.  YIPPEE!  It turned out so very nice.  Thank you Dick for all your hard work of following up with those worker men who were not so great at keeping track of time but did good work.
I want to write one more thing down to never forget.  On Saturday, after we played at the park, and told Kinsley Kate goodbye, we stopped at McDonald's for some lunch.  Addison ordered for her and for Harper and Brooklyn ordered for herself.  It was awesome to have these little girls growing up.  After everyone finished up, I asked Brooklyn to check to see if this McDonald's made the ice cream cones that you can dip in chocolate.  That's her very most favorite, messy yes, but yummy too.  She asked and came back and said that they don't do that, but that she had ordered regular cones for us.  She needed the money to pay for them.  I was kind of impressed that she had done that  Then she started bringing the ice cream.  One, two, three, four, five.  WAIT!!!! There were only 3 ice cream eaters at the table.  I guess she was used to their being five in her family and perhaps she was still thinking we had Kinsley too.  Anyway, we ended up gifting the extra ice cream to two little girls who were having lunch with their dad.  They were pretty excited about that.  Thanks Brooklyn for your kind and generous ways.
Sure Love you all, Robynn
