Our Mansfield Thiots
Ricky had a busy week traveling the great state of Texas all week. His new position at work will have him on the road quite a lot. His little TL turned over 240,000 miles this week and is still a good runner. There was quite a storm that rolled in on Wednesday early in the morning, that took the power out in Mansfield thus calling off school Thursday morning. Becky is one smart mama and packed up the girls and they went to see the new Beauty and the Beast movie at a theater with power. All four girls LOVED it. I'm glad the power came back on by 2 in the afternoon so that food in the fridge and freezer was still alright. Whew, Brooklyn's STAR test was postponed until Friday and all is well. Then on Friday Ricky celebrated his birthday. It's been 37 years that we have had that GR-8 guy in our Family. We sure feel blessed to have him. We loved going to dinner with Sky's family and his Family on Friday night. Yummy!
Our Charlottesville Granges
Today is a wonderful day, It's Maxwell James's Birthday! Just four years ago today, the nicest little boy joined our family. He has been a joy every day. Happy Birthday Max! How lucky to have your birthday on General Conference Sunday! Perfect! This week has been a challenging one in Charlottesville. Remember last Sunday when Miss Penny started getting some spots on her legs? On Monday Tatia took her to the doctor and after several tests, they discovered that she has HSP Disease. It's an auto immune disease that causing your blood vessels to explode and form these strange spots which are really bruises. It affects your joints making you hurt all over your body. There isn't much treatment, it just has to take time to heal. Tatia has been doing her best to take care of that sweet girl and keep her comfy. Her teacher put together a bag of work and books for Penny to be able to keep up while she is home. We are hopeful for a better week this week. Your prayers are always appreciated. Oscar found out this week that he is going to be a big brother to a little brother. How great is that? We are all thrilled for 3 little boys and one Penny in Charlottesville. When Tatia was a baby, and we were expecting Charlie, Dick's mom told me that she was so glad that Charlie was a boy because how could there every be another little girl as amazing as Tatia. When we found out Tatia's baby is a BOY, I could hear her whisper to me the very same words only substituting Penny's name for Tatia's. We are so glad Father in Heaven send us Penny! You are going to be a wonderful, favorite sister to all those cute boys!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Keelie completed her play on Monday and I'm sure was exhausted. She loves all the rehearsals, practices and loves singing all the songs in the car for months before the play. I'm sure she will miss it but will enjoy a little rest before the next play comes around. Keelie is such a fun girl and it's hard for me to believe she will be 9 years old tomorrow. I was in the delivery room when she was born. The only Grandchild I have seen born and what a thrill it was for me to see that beautiful little girl come into this world. Keelie's other Grandma said as she looked at her face for the first time, "She's a Thiot!" Oh my goodness, she is a Thiot and we are so happy to have her. Callum has had a good week and has been working on some fun reading readiness workbooks. He's amazing and I can't wait to see him in a few weeks. We are going to join them on their spring break to LA after Easter. I can't wait to see my four California Grands.
Our L.A. Thiots
When Adelaide received her Easter dress in the mail this week, she called me on the face time and opened it right in front of me. I loved it and then I loved when she put it on and her mama took pictures and a video and sent them to me just like Penny did when she received hers. . She was twirling and spinning and looked just darling in it. Our LA Thiot's took a road trip to the Carlsbad Flower gardens. I had never heard of that place but the photos looked amazing. There are lots of red flowers in one area, and Adelaide wore her red gymnastics outfit for some flying photos. Yes, you read that correctly. Oh my goodness! Our sweet Jackson turned 10 months this week. I'm not sure there is a funner 10 month old on the planet. Can't wait to see you Jackson Boy!!!!!
Our Down Town Thiots
Skyler called me on Wednesday morning and asked what my plans were for lunch. He said he knew two girls who would love to come for a visit. I was thrilled and busied myself making a chicken pasta salad for lunch and some yummy biscuits to go with. Right as the biscuits came of the oven, a tiny white car drove up with two of my favorite girls inside. Our little Elinor has turned six weeks and she has learned to SMILE! I held her for quite a while and she smiled up at her Grammy face over and over again, almost to say, "I know you are my Grammy" Oh how I adore that little tiny girl. I have a book that I got when Brooklyn was born and it's called, I Loved you before you were born. One of my favorite things of being a grandmother is reading that book to the new baby. This was the first chance I have had to do that. I have read that story many times, but as I read it to Elinor, tears were streaming down my cheeks. It is a very tender story and reflects just the way I feel about my grand-babies and how much I love them. I loved sitting next to my Kara who was holding Elinor while I read it. It was a very tender, sweet moment. Thanks for coming to lunch girls!!!! Oh how I love you. (and you too Sky)

We Plano Thiots
We left our house early Saturday morning to take Dick to the airport for his flight to Florida. He has been helping this company there with a conversion of their software for months and it was finally the right weekend to go to the site and complete the project. It worked out well that it was General Conference Weekend so Dick wouldn't miss any church meetings and he could listen to Conference while he works. I miss that guy while he is gone, but Rocky is pretty good company. Since our silly TV package, no longer has BYU-TV where you could watch conference on the TV, now you can listen on the internet or Dick hooked up HULU where you can watch in in my room. So I proceeded to turn my bedroom into a Conference Room. I knew I couldn't lay on my bed, or I might be tempted to fall asleep, so I brought my chair around close to the TV and brought in the ottoman from the family room and a little TV table to take notes. It worked out quite nicely. Rocky stayed in here with me and listened too. I've always loved conference and it's been so nice to get to enjoy it this weekend. I can't wait for the two sessions today.

Have you ever had to wait a long time for something? When it finally happens, is it even better than you could have imagined? That's what happened to me last night. My cousin Pammy asked me a few weeks ago if I could watch her boys while she and Clayton went to a surprise birthday party for one of her girl friends who was turning 40. I wrote it on my calendar and have been smiling thinking about this day for weeks. Let me explain, I have asked, and even begged to watch Pammy's boys since they were babies. She has never had an occasion to bring them to me to watch. She's such cute mommy and didn't ever need to leave them with me, so you can only imagine how excited I was. The only thing that made me nervous, was the fact that it was April 1st yesterday and thus April Fools. I was so hoping it was NOT an April Fools joke that they were coming and I was delighted when I heard a knock at my door and they arrived. Oh my goodness, Oliver and Miles are such fun and delightful boys who I adore. We packed a lot of fun into our 2 1/2 hours together. Let me see if I can recall what we did. We planted Easter Grass first off and then rolled out our rolls we made into bunny buns, jet airplanes and other interesting shapes including basketball standards and balls. While they were raising, we made strawberry jam. Those boys are awesome at pulsing strawberries in the blender. Oliver was great at boiling the pectin and water together and then we took turns stiring it all together. They ladled the jam into jars and it was delicious. Then we popped the rolls and bread into the oven and that is when we decided the smell of jam and baking bread was wonderful. Then we went in the dining room and played the Matching Game we had played with my Activity Day girls on Wednesday. These boys are great at matching apostles and our prophet. WOW! It was fun. Then we had to sample our bread and boy was it tasty with a little butter on it. And then we got out the play dough that I had made for my visiting teachers who came earlier in the week. We loved playing with it and Oliver made a topographical map of the state of Texas including our mountain ranges and valleys. It was remarkable. Miles was building pyramids which I marveled at as well. After the play dough, it was time to head upstairs to play a little pool. These boys were quite the pool sharks and we had fun playing together. Then we went back down stairs for one more game of Match Game and right in the middle of it, Clayton came and picked up those cute boys. Oh, I was smiling all evening while they were here and after they were gone. We had FUN! Oh how I love those boys and THANK YOU Pammy and Clayton for trusting me with them. Please do it again and PLEASE don't make me wait 10 more years!
I sure love all you Birthday Kids and I can't wait for Conference to come on again! SLY Robynn
