Our L.A. Thiots
I would like to introduce you to the newest member of the Thiot family.  Please welcome Pierce JACKSON Thiot to our family.  He was born on Saturday, May 28th at 6:22 pm.  He weighed in at 7lbs and 8 ounces and is 21.5 inches long and is perfect in every way. He was born at the Ronald Reagan Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Congratulations to our LA Thiots on his very happy arrival.  Stacy did a super job and waited to deliver until her mom arrived from Dallas.  Adelaide was staying with friends until Oma arrived and had an extra fun day at the beach while we were all on Baby Watch 2016.  There is something so special about new babies.  I'm so glad our TENTH Grandchild has arrived.  I can hardly wait to hold him in my arms and whisper in his ears how much I love him.

Our Charlottesville Granges
This week was Penny's last week of Preschool.  She had her graduation program on Thursday and came home with a treasure bag from Ms Jenny.  Penny has loved school like nobody I have every known.  She is sad that it is summer and can't wait until Kindergarten starts in the fall.  She would start on Monday if only she could.  Her teacher knit each of the children in Penny's class a pair of mittens.  Penny's were hot pink which she loves.  Max is glad Penny is out of school as he now will have a play partner that doesn't take naps and can play all day with him.  The Granges had a fun adventure to the Children's Discovery Museum on Saturday.  Oscar is getting big enough to enjoy his time there too.  He took a few steps this week but still prefers his knees as his preferred method of transportation.

Our Mansfield Thiots
This was a week like no other in Mansfield.  Starting on Tuesday evening, Addison was presented her Superintendents STAR Award in front of the School Board Meeting that night.  What a thrill to cheer for that sweet girl who was awarded a much deserved honor for being such an amazing student and citizen.  We are sooooooooo proud of you Addison!  Then on Thursday evening, Brooklyn's choir performed seven darling songs that they have been learning all year.  We loved being there and cheering for Brooklyn.  What a fun night.  On Saturday, Harper celebrated her 4th Birthday with a jump house filled with fun friends.  Ricky cooked delicious hot dogs on the grill and Becky planned and pulled off the cutest frozen party ever.  There were a LOT of fun people who came and Harper's friends brought her some very fun gifts.  As an incentive to have a bounce house party, Harper had to agree to box up her binkies and send them to her new cousin Baby Jackson!  I'm so proud of her. What a fun week in Mansfield it was!
Our Carmichael Thiots
This has been a good week in Carmichael and the weather has been great kite flying weather.  There is a fun park next to the pool where the swim team practices and when Callum finished up before Keelie, he and Charlie wnet and flew his cool Star Wars kite.  It was lots of fun.  For this whole semester, after school on Friday, Keelie has been a part of a dance class.  She has LOVED it and they had their recital on Friday evening.  When I talked to Charlie, he was picking up flowers for Keelie.  I loved it.  He is going to try to figure out a way that we can watch it. Someone taped it and hopefully we will be able to enjoy it too.  While we were on Baby Watch on Saturday, they road their bikes to the pool for some practice.  What great bike riders they are.  Way to go!

Our Upstairs Thiots
On Wednesday morning, Skyler asked me if I wanted to go on an Adventure with him.  When the kids were little and we had to run errands, they hated it, so I would often call them adventures instead of errands.  I LOVED going with Skyler on our Adventure.  He took me to IKEA, one of his favorite stores to look at some furniture he thought I might like.  It was fun to go, but I was not too interested in the furnture.  I did love having my own tour guide in IKEA and I didn't even get lost horray! Thanks for the fun Adventure Skyler! What fun it was to have Sky and Kara come to Harper's 4th Birthday Party on Saturday.  It was like having Bert and Mary Poppins there.  Sky was drawing murals with the side walk chalk all over the drive ways. The kids loved watching him and I did too.  Kara was the bubble blower supreme.  It was such a humid day, no rain, but the air was thick with water the the bubbles just kind of hovered in the air. It was cool and the kids loved and were amazed by all the bubbles Kara could blow.  Thank you both for using your great skills to entertain at the party.  Kara signed her Teaching Contract on Tuesday morning and is getting excited for what fall will bring.  Her school color is green and she told me that she told them at her interview that she really looks good in green.  It may have been the deciding factor in hiring her.  She is so cute, those kids will love her.

It's been a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious kind of week at Our Thiot Times. A New Grandson, Special Star Award, Choir Concert, Dance Recital, Preschool Graduation, Learing to walk, 4 year old Birthday Party, Signing Teaching Contracts and so much more.  Oh my goodness, it's no wonder we are all waking up exhausted today.  It's been one of those weeks were you can hardly stop smiling. Thanks for letting me share it all with you.  Sure love y'all!  Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
Ricky and Becky returned early this morning from a wonderful weekend getaway to Los Angeles for Becky's cousin's wedding.  Becky's dad is one of eleven children in his family.  One of his brothers daughters was married and Becky really wanted to be there.  I was so glad they could go and I was so lucky to get to watch their three little girls while they were gone.  They got home about 12:30 this morning and when I woke up at 4:00, I was wide awake and snuck out and drove home before the traffic picked up.  I got home in record time 52 minutes.  I loved that they were able to see Pierce and Stacy and Adelaide too while they were there.  It makes this mom happy that my  kids love to be together.  Tonight is a special event in Mansfield.  Addison Mae Thiot was nominated by her school as the Most Outstanding First Grader at Martha Reid Elementary.  I think they made a really good choice and tonight they have invited her to come and be honored at a district ceremony.  Go Addie Mae!  Brooklyn has been a member of the School Choir this year and Thursday night, her choir will present their SPring Concert.  She has worked hard and gone early to school many days to practice. Go Brooklyn!  What a joy it was for me to have Miss Harper all day on Friday and Monday, just the two of us.  We had lots of fun having tea parties, going to the park, building puzzels, playing games and doing a little shopping.  FUN!!!

Our Charlottesville Granges
Today is a special day for Tatia and Jake, it's their wedding anniversary.  It's been a great 8 years!  I think there home is empty of guests.  They have had a wonderful few weeks of company.  They've loved it and I'm sure it feels a little lonesome.  Jakes parents were there and then Jake's cousin and a friend came for a day or two too.  Tatia is a wonderful hostess and it's fun to be in there home I can testify to that.  Penny & Max had their dentist check ups this week and Penny is having her last week of preschool and had her Five Year old check up on Monday and completed her Kindergarten paper work. She can officially now go to school in the fall. The weather in Virginia has been unseasonably wet and cool.  They are ready for some warmer temperatures and some blue sky.  They are getting excited for Jake's sister Tootie's wedding coming up the end of June.  The girls are choosing new dresses and the guys some handsome clothes to wear.  They will get to be in Salt Lake for a whole week June 19-26.  FUN!
Our Carmichael Thiots
Charlie had a great time in Seattle this past week and even had a little time to do some site seeing one evening. He was a little disappointed that Pike's Fish store was not open where you always see in movies how they toss the fish about.  He said you could still smell the fish, they just weren't there tossing them.  Saturday was the first Swim Meet for Keelie and Callum.  I'm happy to report that they have both improved their times from last Summer by quite a bit.  Go Swimmers Go!  I'm excited for Wednesday night when we will get to face time with them and catch up.  Dick and I spent a fun Sunday afternoon, on Mothers Day making a book on Shutterfly with Keelie's baptism pictures.  I had no idea how complicated it is to make those books.  Thank you Dick for your help and computer skills to make it happen.  I hope you like it Keelie.
Our L.A. Thiots
Stacy celebrated her birthday on the 20th.  We found this fun popcycle maker and sent it to her.  I was thinking that on May 24th, I would be reporting the arrival of our new little grandson.  Guess what?  He is so comfy where he is that he has no interest in coming quite yet.  His due date was last Thursday, but that didn't seem to bother him.  Stacy went to the doctor yesterday and he said everything looked great and he could come when ever he was ready.  It seems like those days when you go past your due date are especially long ones. I have first hand experience as there wasn't a single Thiot who came on time.  But believe, me, they were all five worth waiting for.  Thank you L.A. Thiots for showing our Mansfield Thiots such a fun time while they were in your neck of the woods.
Our Upstairs Thiots
When Stacy was here early this spring, she took some blue bonnet photos of Sky and Kara.  I loved how they turned out.  Thanks Stacy! Can I tell you how fun it is to have our new upstairs neighbors?  When I brought the girls over to stay on Saturday and Sunday, they loved getting to see Sky and Kara and Bransen the cat and Shawna the Hamster.  Brooklyn especially loved that tiny hamster.  Kara put her in her ball and let her roll all around downstairs.  What fun to see how fast that tiny girl can go go go!  We loved watching her.  We also loved playing with our Marble Racing game with Uncle Sky and then having a Temple Lego building party.  Lots of fun.  Kara was studying this weekend to take her ESL test yesterday.  I bet she did great on it.  Go Kara!
We Downstairs Thiots
What a fun weekend it has been for me.  I've loved having three little girls to take care of and love.  It wears me out, but with a smile on my face.  I have a new appreciation for Ricky and Becky who seem to be able to do it all.  Have happy kids, a  clean house, good meals on the table, a clean house. When I'm in charge, it's not so much the case,  we have been known to eat out and play more than we work.  I was sure glad there was no homework this week, since it's the last full week of school and it's fun and field day on friday.  No spelling list, no math homework, not all bad.
Dick had a good week in Salt Lake last week.  He always enjoys getting to stay with my dad and my dad enjoys spoiling him by making him some great breakfasts.  I always tease dad that he shouldn't take such good care of him as he may not want to come home.  Dick got to attend a wedding reception with Dad for one of Dad's favorite neighbors.  They both enjoyed it.
Dick's ham radio class completed last weekend and 3 of the 4 participants passed the exam. Yahoo! Now to make plans for the next course.
I hope you have had a good week and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and in my heart. SLY, Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
I was lucky enough to pick up the girls from school on Wednesday afternoon.  The weather was hot so we headed for Burger King for an ice cream to cool off.  Little did we know, the indoor playground there was CLOSED because the air conditioner was broken.  Bummer.  We were a little disappointed but not for long.  We finished our cones and headed home to change into swimsuits and the girls demonstrated their awesome swimming skills. I didn't even mind being splashed on, as it was an extra warm afternoon.  I loved getting to see them again on Friday night when they came to surprise Graypa for his birthday at the Ball Park in Arlington to cheer for the Rangers.  Even though they didn't give us even one run, it was still fun to be there. Thanks for coming!

Our Charlottesville Granges
Bumpa and Gigi are still in Virginia for a couple of more days.  Tatia and Jake have loved having them there, but maybe most of all the kids have loved it.  They are darling grandparents and are loved and enjoyed so much by Penny, Maxwell and Oscar.  Speaking of Oscar, when he was born, if you have met him in person, you may have noticed that he had a tiny little skin tag on his left ear.  I always thought it was kind of Pirateish and cool.  Well, the plastic surgeon had him come at 6:00 am last Monday and removed it.  Oscar was voted the best surgical patient of the whole day.  Yes, he was the first, but the whole staff guaranteed nobody could be any nicer or cuter than our sweet Oscar was.  Go Oscar!  They have had a fun weekend in Williamsburg and then on to Virginia Beach for a swim.  Penny especially loved the indoor pool at the Hotel that was as warm as a bathtub.  Nice!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Last week for Family Night, they talked about temples and then climbed into the sandbox and built sand castle temples.  They turned out great!  It's Stake Conference in Charlie's stake this weekend and he enjoyed the leadership training on Saturday afternoon being taught by their visiting authority Elder Call.  We used to live by the Call family.  I'm not sure it's the same one, but he was a great man too.  Charlie is looking forward to a trip to Seattle this coming week.  He has a training course to take that he thinks he may have taken a few years ago.  He's looking forward to seeing Seattle and working hard.

Our L.A. Thiots
I have been looking forward to May 19th since I heard our number 10 grand baby was on his way.  It's finally almost here and I can hardly wait to here that he has arrived.  Each time when Stacy goes for her OB appointment, the doctor does an ultra sound.  Adelaide decided she too wanted to see what was in her tummy.  What a cute doctor to show her.  The doctor said on Wednesday that everything looks good and that it could be any time now.  Stacy is ready, Adelaide is ready and Pierce is ready too.  Now if we can just get our little Jackson Boy to be ready.  Each time the phone rings I hope it's them calling.  Good Luck this week!
Our Upstairs Thiots
Sky and Kara hosted the funnest moving party on Saturday afternoon.  We loved getting invited and were sure appreciative of three of the best moving friends who came too.  We unloaded their apartment and made piles for coming to Plano or going into storage and had everything loaded, unloaded, and settled in by about 5:30.  Then Sky and Kara invited the party for some yummy Pizza. I'm glad we could help and it's sure fun having them right upstairs.  The only one who is a little leery is Rocky the dog.  He wishes Bransen would come downstairs so he could chase that cat around.  So far he is hiding under the bed and has not been down the stairs.  Shawna the hamster is a happy little gal in her cage.  She seems to be enjoying sleeping in the sleepover room.

Dick celebrated his 59th Birthday on Friday the 13th.  He has celebrated on Friday the 13th when he was 3,9,20,26,31,36,47,53 and 59.  That is a lot of good luck for one guy!  Since we were celebrating at the Ranger Game, I sent him with a box of Cracker Jacks for everybody at the office.  He loves it when I get those great ideas,  (Not too much)
Dick got invited to play some golf on Thursday night while I was in Mansfield.  He saw two big snakes on the cart trail. That may have been more exciting than the golf game was.
We had a fun dinner date at the Cracker Barrel with some friends from the Family History Center. The food hasn't really improved since we went last time.  We will try to remember that so we won't have a next time.
It's been a good week and I hope you have had a good one too. SLY Robynn

Happy Mothers Day

Our Mansfield Thiots
It's been a busy week in Mansfield this week.  Ricky had a Conference in San Antonio that he attended for a couple of days and Becky and the girls kept busy at home. On Friday after school, when Becky was picking up the girls, a lady backed into her in the busy car pool line.  uggggggg Fortunately, nobody was hurt, but Unfortunately, the car was hurt and the drivers door doesn't shut properly and the tire is rubbing.  Also Unfortunately, the rental car places are empty with all the hail damage done a few weeks ago.  Hopefully, the insurance company will figure it out and take care of things.  Not the best start to a Mother's Day weekend.  I hope it improves.  Becky is a wonderful mommy to three little girls and now sweet baby Mae that she is tending is also enjoying her sweet mommy skills too. Happy Mother's Day Becky!

Our Charlottesville Granges
Miss Penny had a wonderful five year old birthday on Monday.  Tatia and Jake decided to have friend Birthday parties when you have an even birthday and Family Parties with Odd year birthdays.  Penny loved being able to go to preschool on her birthday and her mama made rice krispy bears to wish Penny a Beary Happy Birthday for the kids at school.  I bet they were a hit and enjoyed by all.  On Tuesday, Gigi and Bumpa arrived.  They get to stay for two weeks and everyone is enjoying them a lot.  Saturday morning they all woke up early and packed up and headed to Washington DC for the day.  They even bumped into some old friends who have moved from Charlottesville to Richmond.  Max and Penny loved seeing Porter (Quarter as they call him) and his brother Calvin (Cowboy as he is known to them).  It couldn't have been a nicer day.  Happy Mothers Day Tatia.  I'm glad you get to celebrate with Jake's mom today too!

Our Carmichael Thiots
Oh it was so good to be with our Carmichael Thiot's last weekend.  It was fun to face time with them on Saturday evening.  Charlie was wearing his electrician hat and was replacing light switches in their house. He had made some good head way and they were looking and working good.  Charlie bought Keelie a book about baptism several months ago in preparation for her baptism.  It had a few pages in it to write about yourself and things you love, things you like, and things you enjoy.  I had wanted to help her fill it out while I was there and time got away from us.  So I snuck it in my suit case and planned to interview her on the phone and compete the book and sneak it to the post office and send it back to her.  I had such fun asking her the questions and we giggled a lot and enjoyed doing it together.  Let me share a few things that Keelie loves.  She loves learning about our beautiful world that Heavenly Father gave us, she loves going to school at the CMP California Montessori Project. She loves swinging in the swing her daddy built her and Callum. She loves swimming, she loves jumping on the trampoline.  Get the idea?  She loves a lot of things and I LOVE her!

Our L.A. Thiots
On Friday afternoon, we followed a cement mixer with a bottle of gateraide on the back of it.  We were so impressed with how that bottle hung on.  We think Pierce may want to make a commercial of that.  We got some pics for your PJ! After a very busy week last week, Pierce said that his boss told him he wont give him another HUGE project until the baby comes and his baby leave is up.  There were a couple of days this week we thought would have been fun birthday days for our new little one.  May 4th (May the Fourth be with you) and May 5th  (Cinco de Mayo and Great Uncle Mike's birthday).  He will probably come right on his due date, May 19th, an early birthday gift for his Mama on the 20th.  We are excited to meet him and our sweet Adelaide is going to be a wonderful big sister I am sure.  Oh what a fun Mommy Stacy is. Happy Mothers Day to you!
Our Dallas Thiots
Kara's sister Lauren's birthday was on Saturday.  It's often close by Mother's Day which can be a little tricky.  I was delighted that Sky and Kara were invited to celebrate with her on Saturday at her party. They were able to come before hand to meet with Ricky's family and Dick and me for dinner first and then off to the party.  We met up at Chick filet for dinner and the girls loved playing in the play room both before and after.  Funny how those little play rooms can be so fun for kids. It was good to have all the Texas Thiot's together.

We Plano Thiots
When I talked to Ricky earlier in the week, we made a plan to have the girls have a sleep over on Friday night.  I met Becky at our favorite mid way spot, the Bass Pro Shop and we had the funnest drive home.  Each of the girls took turns telling us a story.  After they finished, we could ask them questions if we needed to know more.  I loved it.  Even Harper was fabulous at story telling.  Thanks girls.  We had a fun sleep over where we all slept in my bed.  yes it was a little cozy,  Graypa opted to sleep in the guest room upstairs, smart man.  Saturday morning we filled up the swimming pool and while it warmed up, we did a sewing project with Brooklyn and Addison who wanted to sew something for Becky for Mothers Day.  The girls each made her a hot pad which turned out super cute.  I hope they will be enjoyed for years to come.  I love those little sewing girls.  Brooklyn loved playing with my button jar.  She has loved my button jar since she was a tiny little girl. It always makes me smile when she wants to play with it.  I loved my grandma's button jar too.  After a swim we went to see the movie, Kung Fu Panda III.  We all three loved it.  When Graypa got home from playing in a golf tournament, he took the big girls to target to buy a kite and Harper and Grammy stayed home and rested.  They had a great time flying the kite.  The wind was just right for flying.  Last Saturday he flew a kite with Keelie and Callum. What good memories. After they returned, we packed up their things and headed to the cemetery for a visit.  Each mothers' day Dick and I go and we always wish we had the girls.  This year, I heard a whisper in my ear that we could go on Saturday and take the girls.  We loved telling them about their grandparents and great grandparents who are at the beautiful Restland Cemetery.  I'm so glad I listened to that whispering voice.
I had my six month check up with the dermatologist.  She burned off some pre cancers on my face, always a pleasure, NOT, and said the rest of me looked good.
Dick had his quarterly meeting with the Pick Users group on Friday night.  They had a great turn out and he felt good about all the efforts that went into planning it.  Well done!
It's been a good week and I hope it has been for you too.  I've loved thinking about Dick's Mom this week and My Mom  and how lucky we both are to have been blessed with Mother's who love us so much.  Happy Mothers Day all the way to Heaven you two! Happy Mothers Day to my daughter, daughters in law, my sisters and all of you dear women who I love so dearly!  SLY Robynn

Brooklyn was invited to a sleepover for Kinsley Kate's 10th Birthday this weekend.  They had a wonderful time.  These little girls have been friends since they were babies.  Even though they aren't real cousins we like to pretend that they are.  Addison had her final soccer game on Saturday.  She has been the scoring star on her team and coach is impressed with how fast she is.  Harper finished preschool and signed up for pre-K for next fall and will get to go 3 days a week instead of just one.  She just loves school.  Ricky and Becky are counting the days until they get to go to Becky's cousin's wedding later this month in California and Grammy and Graypa are excited too because they will have the girls.

Our Charlottesville Granges
Penny had her kindergarten assessment on Thursday.  She had 15 minutes with her teacher to show her all the things that she knows and she will be a wonderful kindergarten girl.  Maxwell is getting excited for Bumpa and Gigi to come on Tuesday.  It has been 21 months since they have seen each other having just served a mission in the Dominican Republic.  Oscar will be meeting them for the first time.  Oscar has been practicing his walking skills and is now able to stand alone for a few seconds.  Tatia and Jake are getting ready for our lucky Penny's birthday on Monday (tomorrow - May 2nd).  She is turning 5 years old and we hope that everyone gives her lots of birthday wishes on her special day.

Our Carmichael Thiots
Grammy and Graypa arrived in Sacramento on Friday morning, met Grandpa Great and Lani at the airport, picked up the Avis rental car and headed over to a lunch date with Charlie.  After that we headed over to Charlie's house while he finished up his work and to wait for Keelie and Callum to get done with school.  Graypa got to push Keelie's bike over to her school so that she could ride it home while he tried to keep up with her.  It is only a few blocks over to her school.  Then there was swim team practice and over to In 'N Out Burgers for a little dinner.  We saw an amazing sunset as we came out.  We didn't know that Sacramento had amazing sunsets like Texas.  On Saturday it was Keelie's special day to get baptized and confirmed a member of the church.  Her dad did a great job and Keelie was awesome too.  Her Carmichael grandparents and her mom then hosted a very lovely lunch after the baptism.  Then it was time for a little kite flying while Grandpa Great, Lani and Grammy got a little snoozer.  We finished up the day with some Little Caesar's Pizza.  We even got to eat outside.

Our Santa Monica Thiots
Pierce had an incredible week in Chicago for the NFL Draft.  The commercial that he has been working (#DearPeyton) on for several weeks released and it is my all time favorite commercial.  He has worked very hard getting ready for the commercials in a very short time plus a huge mural all honoring Peyton Manning.  Unfortunately, Stacy and Adelaide have been home without him. Hopefully now Pierce will be able to spend more time at home these last few weeks until Adelaide's new little brother arrives.

Our Dallas Thiots
This week Skyler and Kara have been packing up their stuff in preparation to move to our house for a few months until they determine where they will be employed after the summer.  They are both looking for new positions and Kara is changing careers, becoming a school teacher.  She will be one of the smartest and best teachers EVER!!

Mom and Pop Thiots
We have had an amazing weekend seeing Keelie get baptized.  I was able to give the talk on the Holy Ghost.  I put several objects that we examples of the Holy Ghost and started by having Keelie say "Grammy, what's in your bag."  Several people commented that the talk should be made into a book.  I confessed that it already was!  We were so happy that Grandpa Great and Lani were able to be there with us. My Dad's little brother, my Uncle Bud came to the baptism too and brought his son and two of his darling granddaughters Stella and Pyper.  Between the Baptsim and the luncheon, we drove over to Birks Lane where my Grandpa Birks' brother Uncle Ed used to live.  I loved walking down Birks Lane with so many members of the Birks family. How blessed we are that we can be with our grandchildren during these important moments in their lives.  Dick starts a new chapter in his work having completed the agreement with their largest customer in Salt Lake City where he has traveled a lot over the last several years.  The next couple months will determine what is in store for the future with that business. Thanks Dick for being my Thiot Times Ghost Writer this week.  SLY Robynn
