Our Mansfield Thiots
Becky's Mom headed back to Redding California on Monday evening.  It was a whirlwind long weekend and everyone was sad to see her go.  She is just so much fun.  Thursday night was a favorite of mine.  The First Grade at Martha Reid Elementary presented their play and it was OUTSTANDING.  "It's a BUGZ Life" had such fun music and the speaking parts were done so well. Addison was Lady Bug #9 and was adorable.  Becky made her a red tutu and wings and a darling antenna to wear and she couldn't have been cuter.  Dick and I drove in traffic and fortunately we left in plenty of time to make it on time.  Harper and Brooklyn were so cute cheering for Addison.  It was a very cute play.  Afterwards we went back to their home and Graypa got to practice spelling with Brooklyn and I got to practice with Addison.  They are Super Spellers and we had a great time. Graypa rewarded them with $ to go to Sonic after school for a treat on Friday.  YUMMY!

Monday night, since Jake was in Boston on an assignment, Tatia invited Dick and I to come to Family Home Evening.  We picked giving the lesson and they picked the Activity.  I can't even tell you how much fun we had together.  Face Time makes all things possible and we enjoyed it a lot. We sung a song, had a prayer, had a little family business and then read a story from the friend and then the real fun began.  We played hide and go seek.  Tatia first hid the i-pad and then Penny and Max and Oscar had to find us.  She hid us in Oscar's crib and put a blanket over us.  Dick and I were laughing so hard that they found us pretty quickly.  Then we got to hunt for Penny and Max who were hiding under the living room chairs.  Oh we loved it.  Domino's Pizza showed up a little early with the Cinnamon Bread sticks for refreshments but other than that, it was perfect.  What fun to have FHE in Charlottesville.  Penny got to go to Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday and LOVED it!

When the Baptism Invites arrived on Wednesday, Charlie's family formed an assembly line of getting them all ready to mail.  One person slipped them into the envelope, then another carefully attached the label and another the postage stamp.  After a bit of quality control, they were ready to drop into the mail.  I'm hoping mine arrives tomorrow.  I may put a folding chair out front and wait for the mail to arrive.  Charlie was involved with the Helping Hands Clean up on Saturday morning and Keelie and Callum got to play at their friends house until it was time for the family project.  Lots of good work was completed and lots of happy hearts for helping.  Later in the afternoon, Keltzie treated them to tickets to the Aero Space Museum.  Oh what fun that looked like in the photos.  WOWSERS! Charlie reminded me that we had gone there when Callum was born.  I think Callum and I waited in the car while everyone else went.  I loved that even more.

Pierce has been in Chicago this week and had a busy busy time.  He is back home now and the girls missed him.  Adelaide had her first pre-school field trip to the Firestation which as you can only imagine, she LOVED.  Stacy took a picture of her sitting on the front of a PIERCE fire engine and also one holding the firehose which she was so serious about and one standing in the fireman's boots which came way up high on her.  She has loved preschool.  Thank you Stacy for sharing the pictures with us.  Pierce asked if I had a picture of him on the PIERCE fire truck and I sent him a copy of that.  Fun times for sure.  I got to face time with them twice this week.  Pierce gave me a sneak peek of his project he has been working on.  It was amazing, incredible, terrific.  I loved getting to watch it and can't wait to see it on the big tv when it comes out next week.  WOWSERS!!!

Our Dallas Thiots
Sky and Kara are enjoying our pretty weather and have loved going on some bike rides together. Kara got a darling hair cut this week and Sky has been doing some projects and starting to  make plans for moving in with us for a few months.  You know how much fun moving can be, not much at all.  We are looking forward to having them closer by, like right upstairs.  Yipee!  Skyler has been enjoying watching the Dallas Mavericks in the play offs.  It's more fun to watch when they win than when they loose.  I think it's done to one came they have to win or they are done.  Go Mavs!

Dick has played golf on back to back days this week. Nobody deserves it more than he does.  After a crazy work week he enjoyed it.  He said he didn't play his best golf, but even a bad score makes for a great day.  The weather cooperated and his feet are looking whiter as his legs get tanner.  We went with some new friends to see the movie Eddie the Eagle on Monday evening.  We all enjoyed it.
I got invited to a tea party for Miss Penny's friend Sarah Elisabeth's birthday on Wednesday.  What fun that was.  I loved it.

Rocky got his hair cut this week.  When I was talking on face time with Adelaide, she noticed that he has eyes.  Yes, his hair was so long you could hardly see his eyes.  He got his summer shearing for sure.  Like me, when I get a short hair cut, I always think I really got my money's worth.

Friday morning I woke up early at 5:15 and was afraid I had slept in.  Our Temple is closed for two weeks for spring cleaning and it was quite fun to have a BONUS day to do what ever I wanted to do. I voted to clean off a pile of mail and stuff in the corner of the kitchen and then wanted to clean up the laundry room. Who would have thought I could spend so much time doing that.  Such a small room had a lot of stuff that needed organizing. One of the things that made me so happy to organize was a pink polka dot box of little tiny dolls.  My mom had gotten all the supplies needed to make baptism dolls for her little great granddaughters.  This was two years ago right now. She worked and worked until she got 10 of them completed.  I kept telling her to not rush or push herself so hard but she was really adamant about getting them completed.  Little did I know, and maybe some how she knew, that her time was almost gone.  I got to be the keeper of the dolls and the little poem that she wrote to go with the dolls.  Now with Keelie's baptism coming next weekend, I took out the litte dark curly haired doll that was made for Keeie and printed off the poem and framed it and have it ready to take to her.  What a treasure these little dolls are.  I hope these little granddaughters will feel her love that comes through them.  Thank you Mom!

It's been a good week, I had a bridge installed in my mouth at the dentist.  Dr. Taylor and I decided to name it the Brooklyn Bridge.  We both have granddaughters named Brooklyn who we adore.  I hope you have had a good week.  Aunt Bonnie, I hope you are healing up after your bike accident. You have been in my thoughts and prayers.   Sure love you all,  Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
There is something wonderful that happens when the thermometer reaches 90 degrees in April.  It doesn't happen often, but on one day this week it happened and guess what, in Mansfield that means SWIMMING!  The swimming pool was filled up and a new addition this year was a slippery slide.  Yes that is how they roll in Mansfield.  But as fun and as great as that may sound to you, something even better happened on Thursday.  Becky's mama Nana Diane arrived in town.  She is here until Tuesday and the good times have not stopped for a single second.  I'm sooooo glad she could come and spend time with these little granddaughters of ours.  It's so fun to share them with her and Jim. They add so much to our Mansfield Thiots lives.

This week in Charlottesville may be one that Tatia would not mind forgetting.  She woke up on Tuesday morning with a sore throat and body aches and it just got worse for the next couple of days.  Finally on Thursday, she packed up those three little ones and headed off to her doctors office.  After taking a peek at her, her doc said, "Just go home and get some rest."  Virus's don't have a lot to help but time and rest.  Unfortunately, this is one of Jakes busiest rotations and she was pretty much on her own.  Let me tell you, it was a welcome relief when he snuck home on Thursday night just long enough to help her get the kids in bed and then had to run back to the hospital.  Thanks Jake!  I'm glad to report she is feeling a bit better.  Not great quite yet, but better.

It's official, when swim team begins, Summertime is not far behind.  Keelie and Callum are both members of the swim team again this year and that means lots of swim practice and Saturdays filled to the brim with Swim Meets.  Practice times are right after eachother which makes for lots of time to watch these cute swimmers after work.  Charlie loves to go and watch them and cheer them on.  Callum has been working on his back stroke and is doing amazing.  Keelie is such a beautiful swimmer too.  I told you last week that my great grandmothers name is Esther Williams.  Now I know she is not the famous swimmer we've all heard of but I like to think that Keelie has a bit of Esther Williams in her, the famous swimmer that is.

Pierce, Stacy and Adelaide are counting down the weeks until this new little baby joins their family. His due date of arrival in the 19th of May.  That is one month and 2 days which is sounding CLOSE! I got to face time with Adelaide and Pierce yesterday and I love how sweet Adelaide says Jackson when asked what her little brothers name is.  She is going to be a great big sister and is excited. Stacy's friends hosted a baby shower for baby brother yesterday and showered her with lots of sweet little boy treasuree.  The doctor told Stacy at her last appointment that little Jackson is already up to 5 pounds already passing Adelaide's 3 pound arrival weight.  Oh wonderful gifts come in small packages.  Lady is one of those.

Skyler was my hero of the week this week.  Dick was gone out of town all week and Sky called several times checking in on how I was doing home alone. Thank you Sky!  He was also wonderful on Friday when we  needed his sweet skills to create an invite for our sweet Keelie's upcoming baptism.  You are remarkable Sky Thiot!  I know Keelie will treasure those even more knowing that her Uncle Sky designed them.  Thank you for sharing your talents yet again.  Our Sweet Kara was released from the temple this week. Oh what a wonderful service she gave there.  Most of us temple workers are the silver haired variety and Kara added such loving energy to the temple.  She is going to  be missed but I'm sure will have another opportunity one day.  The temple is really encouraging our young people to have opportunities to serve in the temple.  They do it so well.

I have to tell you that I was smiling all the way to the airport yesterday afternoon when I was on my way to pick up Dick.  It had been a long week with him away and I couldn't wait to have him home. We were in charge of the Single Adult Salsa Dance last night and he is such a great helper.  I'm glad to report that it was a fun evening.  Tatia shared with me her salsa recipe and we made it in the kitchen at the church.  Oh my, did it smell good in that kitchen.  Cilantro is one of my favorite smells and it was good.  We made queso and warmed the chips and had an extra fun evening.  It's not my thing to stay up until midnight but I made it.  I had this vision of having a Taco Truck to serve the refreshments out of, and when one of my neighbors was selling a cute blue truck she had made out of cardboard for her son's birthday, I couldn't resist buying it use on our serving table.  It was fun and it is over.  Oh how I love our Single Adults and those who serve with us.  It's been a blessing for Dick and me both.

Sometimes, over the years, when Dick travels, I picture him going on a vacation instead of a workcation.  This time he took his golf clubs and his swim suit and I could just picture him playing golf all day and swimming all evening.  Well, that wasn't really how it went down he told me.  He worked and worked on his presentations and then had to present, and then had to do his work in Dallas too from there.  I'm glad he is such a good worker man and I'm especially glad he is still snoozing and I can hear his snoring as I type.  I miss that when he is away.

While Ricky's family was having their Monday afternoon swim party, our neighborhood was getting hit by the 2nd Hail Storm in as many weeks.  This time the hail stones were much bigger and much more damaging.  Especially east of us.  My car only had a few dings but many cars were totalled with damage caused from the storm. The roofers are like army ants, they are everywhere wanting to inspect your roof and get you a new one ordered.  We need to call our insurance adjuster to come take a peek at ours.  ugggggggggggg.

Friday night I was privileged to attend the Millional Choir and Orchestras spring concert.  Talk about the sound of Heavenly Music.  It was 2 1/2 hours of the most beautiful sounds my ears have ever heard.  One of the sisters I serve with in the temple is the choir director.  She is darling and did such a wonderful job.  When it was over I couldn't make my face stop smiling. It was truly a memorable evening.  I wish all of you could have been sitting next to me enjoying it too.  What a week it has been.

I loved having my friend and her granddaughter come over on Wednesday to have lunch and a play date with me.  She and Penny are good friends and she kept wanting to go up to Penny's room and see her butterfly on her wall.  I wish Penny had been here to play with her too. The girls got to face time each other and that was almost as fun.    I hope you have had a good week.  Please know that I LOVE you!  SLY Robynn

And Another Spring Break...

Ricky & Becky's girls were given a little bonus assignment on Saturday.  It was the play room, to clean up and organize the toys. With 3 little girls who all love stuffed animals, they have quite a collection.  When Ricky heard a lot of giggling, he had to go in to take a peek at what was happening. Harper had climbed into the bucket and the girls had piled all the animals on top of her.  Ricky couldn't resist snapping a photo of it and then of course everyone else wanted a turn too.  I love how these sweet girls can turn a cleaning project into so much fun.  Way to go Girls!  Ricky reported that Addison had a great time at her soccer came on Saturday too.  She is really getting fast this season and always scores at the game.  Way to go Addison!

This week was spring break for Miss Penny's Preschool.  She was not looking forward to it as she loves to go to school, but Jake and Tatia really made it an extra fun week at home and she loved it. Each day they had a different letter that each activity began with.  Jake had Thursday and Friday off work and they all enjoyed having some extra time with him as his schedule has been extra busy lately.  Oscar has been on a teeth growing project these past couple of weeks. He is trying to grow a whole mouth full at once which makes for some sleepless nights. Those teeth can be mean.

After a busy week at work, Charlie had his annual training for the Ropes Course at Camp this summer.   It was all day on Saturday but he really enjoyed it.  Callum loved getting to be Grandpa's buddy for the day and Keelie had a sleep over at a friends house and then got to attend another friends Birthday Party.  What a fun Saturday for everyone.  Charlie got Keelie's baptism photos back and I can't stop looking at them.  Her photographer really captured that sweet little girl and this exciting upcoming event.

Well, just as we had hoped wouldn't happen, happened this week.  Stacy was in Texas for two weeks while we thought Pierce's travels would take place.  Unfortunately, this is the week they are taking place.  He was off to Duke University on Thursday and is now in Atlanta for a weekend and has another stop before heading back to LA on Tuesday to beginning the editing process for this exciting project.  Now on the home front, Miss Adelaide has started pre-school with the Parks and Rec Department.   She is almost 3 and is completely potty trained and so she is in.  She goes 3 days a week from 9-1 and there isn't a happier little girl in pre-school in all of LA county.  She is in her glory with friends to play with and activities to do and yes, she even gets to take her lunch to school.  I'm sure Stacy is lonesome for her but is happy that she is happy.

Sky and Kara bought a car on Saturday.  It is an Audi Station Wagon and is sooooooooo fun.  Dick had an early flight this morning, and Sky offered to be Dick's airport ride.  We met Sky at Sams Club and got a sneak peek at his new ride.  The only thing he hasn't figured out is how to make the back wiper stop wiping.  That was Dick's job to figure out with the owners manual on the way to the airport.  It looks like brand new even though it's 8 years old.  I think some sweet little grandma must have bought it and kept it in her garage except to drive it to church every sunday.  I like it! Last Sunday after conference, Sky and Kara and Shawna came for dinner. Our new Grand Hamster.  I can see how they fell in love with her.  She is darling. We loved watching her roll around the house in her ball.  So fun!

As I mentioned about, Dick left town this morning for a week in Arizona.  He is teaching five classes at Spectrum this week.  The good and the bad news is that they are both in the first two days of the conference.  That makes for lots of preparation and that is why he flew out early bird style this morning to put the final prep on the classes where nobody can bother him.  I hope it all goes well.  He did take his golf clubs and is hoping to have time to enjoy some time on the lovely golf course at the resort where the conference is taking place.  Good Luck Dick!
We had Relief Society during the week on Thursday night and it was titled, Bring an Ancestor with you.  I brought my Great Grandmother Esther Williams Morris.  I've always thought it was impressive that Esther Williams was on our family tree.  I have to tell you this, my Esther WIlliams is even more impressive than the beautiful swimming movie star.  I loved going on Family Search and finding photos of her and I loved reading a story one of her grandchildren had written about it.  What a wonderful night it was learning about each other's families.  I loved it.  Before Dick and I were married, we went to Trolley Square and had our photo taken in this very same pose.  I've been searching and can't find it, ugggg.
My friend Vivian, (in the middle) gave me these three darling dishtowels that I turned into aprons for each of us on our Thursday Family History Shift.  Are we the cutest duck ladies or what?
I went to the dentist this week and have felt pretty crummy ever since.  I am not a fan of dentist appointments.  ugggggg.  It does feel a bit better this morning. Hopefully, we are on the way back up. I hope you have had a good week and that the words from General Conference are still ringing true in your mind and in your heart.  I loved it and I'm enjoying re listening again and again.  Take good care. Sure love you all, Robynn

Happy Birthdays & Conference Week!

Dick often jokes that it is harder on him to have Ricky grow older than it is to have himself grow older.  Ricky turned 36 on Thursday and that was a little tough for Dick.  Not for Ricky, he is Gr-8 as always.  He was chosen in the lottery to attend Brooklyn's field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium. Oh how he loved that.  Remember when he went to the zoo with Brooklyn's class a few years ago and had to rescue the kid trying to climb over the fence into the lions den?  This trip was not quite as exciting as that one which is a very good thing.  Dick and Ricky enjoyed a sushi birthday lunch and then they were able to attend the Priesthood session of General Conference on Saturday night.  Good Times for sure.

In Charlottesville, it was Maxwell James' Third Birthday on Saturday.  He has been planning his party for several months.  He knew he wanted a Star Wars theme ever since he was introduced to Star Wars by Uncle Skyler he has been a fan.  It was Kids' Club at Tatia and Jakes on Friday night, and so it was quickly turned into the funnest Star Wars Birthday Party Ever.  Max was thrilled and all his little friends were too.  Go Tatia and Jake!  On his official birthday, he order MAXaroni and Cheese for dinner and it did not disappoint.  Yummy!  He wanted a Yellow cake (his favorite color) with chocolate frosting and all his star wars characters on top.  Nice Job T!

And now today in Carmichael is our Keelie Christina's 8th Birthday.  WOWSERS!  Turning 8 is a very special birthday.  That means you are old enough to choose to be baptized.  April 30 will be Keelie's baptism day. Graypa and I have got our tickets and are getting excited to be there with her on that special day.  Happy Birthday Keelie Christina!  What a fun week she and Callum and their Mom and Grandma have had visiting Aunt Kelzie and Baby Holland in Arizona.  California gives you two weeks in a row of Spring Break and they have sure had a lot of fun.  I bet they are going to be ready to go back to school tomorrow.  Happy Birthday Keelie!!!!
Our LA Thiots
Last Monday, Stacy and Adelaide returned home to Pierce.  He has been so happy to have them home with him.  Stacy and Pierce have been wanting to have a Baby Moon before this new little one arrives on the scene.  They have some dear friends who offered to come and stay with Adelaide (lucky people) and so they packed their bags and headed out for a quick get away to Palm Springs.  I hope they have had a really good time and I'm sure Lady did with her "sleep-over" friends.

Our Dallas Thiots
While Sky's job hunt continues, he is driving for UBER Rides and LYFT.  He has the top ratings and has kind of enjoyed meeting lots of new people and driving them all over the place. He and Kara took a trip to the zoo Saturday while the weather was just perfect.  Max was so thrilled when they called him on face time from the zoo to sing Happy Birthday to him.  I loved it! Thanks you two!

On Monday Dick invited me to go with him on a quick trip to Houston on Tuesday.  My first response is usually no thank you, but this time, I surprised him with YES!  We took Rocky over to his buddy Brett's house and headed out bright and early Tuesday morning.  It was fun to give a wave to the Dallas Thiots as we drove past their apartment off the Good Latimer exit.  The blue bonnets were fabulous decorating the highway all the way down 45.  We loved looking at them and remembering the story of Dick and his mom.  Mom Mom loved nature and loved to point out all the beautiful things she saw as she went on road trips.  Dick remembers an especially fun trip to Colorado and she would say, "Look Richie Look"  He said he remembers finally just spouting out, "I'm LOOKING, I'm LOOKING, I'm LOOKING!"  We both laughed and wanted to reenact it again and again on our trip. We got to Houston by 11:00 and got checked into our hotel and Dick went off to meet with his customer.  I got to take a walk across the street to a fun little shopping complex and have lunch all alone at chick-filet.  There was a cute lady and her mom and her two little ones sitting next to me and she was complaining about how difficult it was to be a stay at home mom.  I just wanted to go hug her and thank her for taking good care of those kids and tell her how lucky she was and how fast the time was going to go past and before she knew it, those little ones would be grown and gone.  It's interesting to me how the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence.  I'm sure glad I was able to be home.
When Dick finished with his customer, we made it just in time for the 5:00 session at the lovely Houston Temple.  It was so nice to be there and to get to enjoy the sweet spirit there.  Thanks for taking me Dick!

After the temple, we enjoyed some yummy texas barbeque and then went to bed. We woke up early and headed back to Dallas.  The weather was kind of rainy, not hard rain, but misty and made for a nice drive.  After reading ALL the billboards about a place called BUCKY's, we had to stop and check it out.  I will say this, they have the nicest restrooms I have every seen at a gas station.  It was kind of like the old STUCKEY Stations when I was a kid only on steroids.  WOWSERS!

We had a ward from Bossier City in Louisiana come to the temple on Friday who brought a LOT of family  names to do the temple work for.  It was a Wonderfully, Busy, Spirit filled day at the temple.  I was way tired when I got home on Friday but with a smile on my face.  Thank you Brownlee Ward!

My Dad had a busy week and kept feeling worse all week.  He has had a cough that has lasted way too long. Lani took him to the Insta Care on Saturday evening and they did a chest xray and said he has pneumonia.  They gave him a big shot and a few prescriptions and sent him home with Lani.  He has to go back today for another big shot and I'm sure hoping he will get to feeling better soon. Please keep him in your prayers.
And now it's the 186th Annual General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  April and October Conferences are my two most favorite weekends of the year.  I love that Keelie's birthday falls on Conference Sunday.  What a wonderful way to celebrate.  I loved yesterdays talks and am looking forward to two more sessions today. What a week, it's no wonder I woke up tired.  Sure love you all, Robynn
