Our Mansfield Thiots
Becky's Mom headed back to Redding California on Monday evening. It was a whirlwind long weekend and everyone was sad to see her go. She is just so much fun. Thursday night was a favorite of mine. The First Grade at Martha Reid Elementary presented their play and it was OUTSTANDING. "It's a BUGZ Life" had such fun music and the speaking parts were done so well. Addison was Lady Bug #9 and was adorable. Becky made her a red tutu and wings and a darling antenna to wear and she couldn't have been cuter. Dick and I drove in traffic and fortunately we left in plenty of time to make it on time. Harper and Brooklyn were so cute cheering for Addison. It was a very cute play. Afterwards we went back to their home and Graypa got to practice spelling with Brooklyn and I got to practice with Addison. They are Super Spellers and we had a great time. Graypa rewarded them with $ to go to Sonic after school for a treat on Friday. YUMMY!
Our Charlottesville Granges
Monday night, since Jake was in Boston on an assignment, Tatia invited Dick and I to come to Family Home Evening. We picked giving the lesson and they picked the Activity. I can't even tell you how much fun we had together. Face Time makes all things possible and we enjoyed it a lot. We sung a song, had a prayer, had a little family business and then read a story from the friend and then the real fun began. We played hide and go seek. Tatia first hid the i-pad and then Penny and Max and Oscar had to find us. She hid us in Oscar's crib and put a blanket over us. Dick and I were laughing so hard that they found us pretty quickly. Then we got to hunt for Penny and Max who were hiding under the living room chairs. Oh we loved it. Domino's Pizza showed up a little early with the Cinnamon Bread sticks for refreshments but other than that, it was perfect. What fun to have FHE in Charlottesville. Penny got to go to Kindergarten Orientation on Thursday and LOVED it!
Our Carmichael Thiots
When the Baptism Invites arrived on Wednesday, Charlie's family formed an assembly line of getting them all ready to mail. One person slipped them into the envelope, then another carefully attached the label and another the postage stamp. After a bit of quality control, they were ready to drop into the mail. I'm hoping mine arrives tomorrow. I may put a folding chair out front and wait for the mail to arrive. Charlie was involved with the Helping Hands Clean up on Saturday morning and Keelie and Callum got to play at their friends house until it was time for the family project. Lots of good work was completed and lots of happy hearts for helping. Later in the afternoon, Keltzie treated them to tickets to the Aero Space Museum. Oh what fun that looked like in the photos. WOWSERS! Charlie reminded me that we had gone there when Callum was born. I think Callum and I waited in the car while everyone else went. I loved that even more.
Pierce has been in Chicago this week and had a busy busy time. He is back home now and the girls missed him. Adelaide had her first pre-school field trip to the Firestation which as you can only imagine, she LOVED. Stacy took a picture of her sitting on the front of a PIERCE fire engine and also one holding the firehose which she was so serious about and one standing in the fireman's boots which came way up high on her. She has loved preschool. Thank you Stacy for sharing the pictures with us. Pierce asked if I had a picture of him on the PIERCE fire truck and I sent him a copy of that. Fun times for sure. I got to face time with them twice this week. Pierce gave me a sneak peek of his project he has been working on. It was amazing, incredible, terrific. I loved getting to watch it and can't wait to see it on the big tv when it comes out next week. WOWSERS!!!
Our Dallas Thiots
Sky and Kara are enjoying our pretty weather and have loved going on some bike rides together. Kara got a darling hair cut this week and Sky has been doing some projects and starting to make plans for moving in with us for a few months. You know how much fun moving can be, not much at all. We are looking forward to having them closer by, like right upstairs. Yipee! Skyler has been enjoying watching the Dallas Mavericks in the play offs. It's more fun to watch when they win than when they loose. I think it's done to one came they have to win or they are done. Go Mavs!
We Plano Thiots
Dick has played golf on back to back days this week. Nobody deserves it more than he does. After a crazy work week he enjoyed it. He said he didn't play his best golf, but even a bad score makes for a great day. The weather cooperated and his feet are looking whiter as his legs get tanner. We went with some new friends to see the movie Eddie the Eagle on Monday evening. We all enjoyed it.
I got invited to a tea party for Miss Penny's friend Sarah Elisabeth's birthday on Wednesday. What fun that was. I loved it.
Rocky got his hair cut this week. When I was talking on face time with Adelaide, she noticed that he has eyes. Yes, his hair was so long you could hardly see his eyes. He got his summer shearing for sure. Like me, when I get a short hair cut, I always think I really got my money's worth.
Friday morning I woke up early at 5:15 and was afraid I had slept in. Our Temple is closed for two weeks for spring cleaning and it was quite fun to have a BONUS day to do what ever I wanted to do. I voted to clean off a pile of mail and stuff in the corner of the kitchen and then wanted to clean up the laundry room. Who would have thought I could spend so much time doing that. Such a small room had a lot of stuff that needed organizing. One of the things that made me so happy to organize was a pink polka dot box of little tiny dolls. My mom had gotten all the supplies needed to make baptism dolls for her little great granddaughters. This was two years ago right now. She worked and worked until she got 10 of them completed. I kept telling her to not rush or push herself so hard but she was really adamant about getting them completed. Little did I know, and maybe some how she knew, that her time was almost gone. I got to be the keeper of the dolls and the little poem that she wrote to go with the dolls. Now with Keelie's baptism coming next weekend, I took out the litte dark curly haired doll that was made for Keeie and printed off the poem and framed it and have it ready to take to her. What a treasure these little dolls are. I hope these little granddaughters will feel her love that comes through them. Thank you Mom!
It's been a good week, I had a bridge installed in my mouth at the dentist. Dr. Taylor and I decided to name it the Brooklyn Bridge. We both have granddaughters named Brooklyn who we adore. I hope you have had a good week. Aunt Bonnie, I hope you are healing up after your bike accident. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Sure love you all, Robynn
