Our Mansfield Thiots
This was a great week in Mansfield.  Tuesday night,  Addison graduated from her Pre-K Preschool.  She has attended the Little Hearts Pre-school and has loved and learned much.  She has a dear teacher who loves Addison and Addison loves her.  It was so fun to be there and watch her walk in with her red cap and gown and sing her darling songs.  They asked each graduate what they planned to be when they grow up and Addison said a Doctor.  I believe Doc McStuffins has had a great influence on her.  I was so glad I could be there.  Friday was Fun and Field Day for Brooklyn's First Grade.  She LOVED wall the fun activities and getting to be outside for a LONG recess.  Brooklyn brought home a metal for her good work at Field Day. Saturday morning they woke up early and packed their bags to head south to the BEACH for the weekend.  Ricky found some buggie boards on craigs list and couldn't wait to try them out.  They had a great time and are on their way back home as I type.

Jake has two friends from college getting married this summer and they've been invited to showers and fun celebrations.  Tatia wanted to do something fun for the gifts and decided to make matching aprons for them. She has worked hard all week making those and has been blessed to have extra children over to "help".  On Friday she has six little children in her van, Four Extra and I was so impressed that new van could hold six car seats.  You are a saint Miss T, or maybe a tiny bit crazy.  You remind me of me some days:) Saturday morning they woke up early bird style and headed to Virginia Beach to one of the bridal showers.  Penny and Max were invited to so they turned it into a mini vacation at the beach.  They had a great time and are back home safely.

Charlie, Kenzie, Keelie and Callum have been planning a weekender get away too.  They packed up and headed to Nevada to hunt for fossils.  The kids were so thrilled when they found some and even got to sleep over night.  What a fun family you are Carmichael Thiots.

Stacy celebrated her birthday on Tuesday, and Pierce surprised her by flying her mom in for a visit.  What a fun surprise for our Stacy.  You are the best PJ!  I loved the picture I saw of Adelaide in her new bike seat on Stacy's cute bike.  What fun those two girls are in for.  Many rides on the beach I have a feeling.  It just makes me smile to look at that photo.

Sky and Kara had won a weekend rental of a toyota for a contest they endered a few months ago and this was the weekend they chose to get it.  They were going to go to San Antonio but then they changed plans when Ricky's family invited them to join them on the BEACH for the weekend.  They quickly packed up swim suits, sun screen and were off.  They've had a great weekend and are on their way back home this morning too.  I can wait to hear all the details.

Dick worked all week in Salt Lake and returned home on Friday night.  It's good to have him home and now he is playing catch up for the work he missed while gone.  He can pack a lot into a day that is for sure.  We did sneek some time Saturday to go and watch the new Muppet Movie.  It was fun and we enjoyed it and then we got a date to In and Out Burgers.  Yummy.  Today is Memorial Day and its always great to take time to remember what this day stands for.  I hope you all have had a good week.  SLY Robynn

Ricky's family has been hosting Cousin Jamie this week while he has been in town working.  What fun that has been for our little girls to get acquainted with him and for Ricky and Becky too.  He is such a fun guy and a great salesman.  It's interesting how much alike he and Ricky are.  They are not the closest cousins in age, but they always got along very well.  Could it be there are alot alike?  I think so.  It was very fun to see Ricky and his little girls on Wednesday as we celebrated Dick's birthday at El Fenix downtown.  We loved checking out the new park they have built on top of the Woodall Rogers Freeway.  Pretty amazing.  Skyler, thanks for being the tour guide for them.

Tatia and her family have had a good week.  The weather has been mostly nice and made for plenty of outside playing time.  Tatia keeps encouraging Maxwell to walk, promising him how much more he will like being outside when he can be on his feet instead of his knees on the scratchy grass which he is not so much a fan of.  Penny got a lady bug rock in the mail this week that her Great Grandma Gigi painted many years ago.  Penny collects rocks and Gigi wanted Penny to add this special one to her collection.  So nice of you Gigi!

How does a 53 mile bike ride sound to you with a bunch of boy scouts?  Yes, you guessed it, Charlie Thiot not only did it, but he loved it too.  He is sporting a bit of a sore fanny after so long on that bike seat, but also a big smile.  Callum and Keelie can hardly wait until they are old enough for those 50 miler rides.  I bet it won't be too long you two.  Keelie is counting down to the end of Kindergarten, not because she is excited but because she has loved school and wants to enjoy every single day.  She's already busy with swim team that has started again.  Swim Keelie Swim!

Tuesday will be our Stacy's birthday and I'm guessing our Pierce and Adelaide are busy making plans on how best to celebrate.  Happy birthday Stacy!  We are so lucky to have you in our family.  Guess who is growing teeth this week.  Go Adelaide!  She's been a trouper of a teether! Adelaide is 11 months old today. I can hardly wait to see her again in just a few weeks.

I started working an extra shift at the temple each month on the third Saturday of the month.  When I arrived Saturday, our temple president told me he was interviewing another Sister Thiot to be an ordinance worker. How great is that, that our Kara will be on the Saturday morning shift.  That is surely the busy shift of the temple for the whole week.  She will be wonderful and the other sisters will just love working with her.  I will look forward to the 3rd Saturdays when there will be Two Sister Thiot's there together.  Sky had a good week and send Dick a photo of the Sunday dinner that he grilled on the grill for lunch.  YUMMY!  Kara had a day off this week and got to go to Fort Worth to spend the day with her sister and her darling nephews.  Fun!

Dick is leaving first thing in the morning for his week in Salt Lake, which means he has been busy getting everything here taken care of so he can leave for a week.  I had fun on Tuesday surprising him with Cookies and Milk on his birthday for the office.  I asked him what I  could bring and he said it is just embarrassing when I come on his birthday, but I don't care, I LOVE to spoil him just a little bit.  He was a good sport and it was fun to meet all the new hires there.
I had fun on Monday going to the dollar theatre to see the movie Frozen with a friend of mine.  She hadn't seen it yet and I had not seen it on the big screen.  There were only six of us there and it was kind of fun. I've been  humming Let it Go all week long.  I think that would be a great song to hum while cleaning out closets and drawers and garages.  I had a fun visit from Cousin Pamela and her boys this week.  She road her bike and pulled the trailer with her two  little guys inside.  What an amazing accomplishment after having surgery on her knee just 8 weeks ago.  Go PAMMY!  it was sure fun to have you come over.

Saturday afternoon we were invited to Kinsley Kate's end of year gymnastic show.  She is amazing. We loved being there and the twins loved Dick. They hiked over to Sonic for ice cream.  What a fun graypa  you are Dick! What a fun week it's been.  I was invited to speak at a fireside tonight for 10 and  11 year old primary girls.  It was such a sweet meeting.  Have a wonderful week.  SLY robynn

Happy Mothers Day!

Our Mansfield Thiots
Last night Ricky and Becky were invited to Ricky's friends wife's SURPRISE 30th Birthday Party at a fancy place for dinner.  Needless to say, the little girls were not on the invite list and Dick and I were lucky enough to be chosen to be the party committee for the them.  We LOVED getting to spend the evening with them and enjoyed them thoroughly.  I mean what can be funner, that a trip to chick-filet, an hour at the playground there, a jacuzzi jet bubble bath and then Sophia the 1sts newest episode.  It was a great night for sure. Earlier this week, on Tuesday, I got to go spend the day with Harper while Becky was on a field trip with Brooklyn.  I even got to stay for swimming lessons.  Brooklyn and Addison started last week and they are improving every single class.  I was so glad I got to deliver the goggles Graypa got them which have been most helpful in helping you get your face wet.  Hooray Graypa!!!!!

Right as I am typing the Thiot Times, my Tatia is sitting on the stand in the Charlottesville 2nd Ward with a smile on her face.  You see her Bishop gave her a mothers day gift of getting to be the speaker today and Jake got the gift of getting to tend their two littles on his own.  Jake, I'm praying for you and for Tatia.  When Tatia was in elementary school, they filled out a survey of what you wanted to be when you grew up.  It was one of my proudest moments when Tatia knew right from a very young age that she wanted to be a Mommy. After spending last week in her home, I can tell you first hand that she is a wonderful Mommy to two very lucky littles. What a blessed ward to have you speak to them today.  Enjoy your week off from wrestling children during Sacrament Meeting.

Our Carmichael Thiots
This weekend was the Fathers and Sons outing or the Aaronic Priesthood Commemoration in Charlies ward.  That means that dad's are invited to bring their sons on a camp out.  Guess who got to go for his first time.   Yes Mister Callum, being a fine potty trained boy, was invited and delighted to go with his daddy.  I can't wait to hear all the details, but I guarantee, they had a good time.  I bet Keelie and Kenzie had an extra fun girls night too.  Last weekend, since I missed writing Our Thiot Times, Char and his kids were voted The Most Helpful sibling.  Dick flew into Sac Town, Char picked him up and hosted him for a sleep over and then Keelie, Callum, Char and Graypa headed to San Fran EARLY Saturday morning and picked up Sky at the airport and headed to the Penske Truck rental and secured a sweet ride and then off to the storage unit where they loaded up all of Sky and Kara's earthly possession and packaged them neatly in the back of the truck.  Callum and Keelie were truly great workers, much like their daddy always has been, and enjoyed a great snooze on their way back home several hours later.  Thank you all!

I'm not sure how Dick has turned into such an amazing travel agent, but he has.  Take my word.  Friday afternoon he flew from Salt Lake where he had been working all week and on his way to Sacramento, he had a four hour layover in Los Angeles.  And you know those amazing LA Thiot's made time to pick him and and take him to the beach for dinner.  Oh my, he was thrilled and loved getting to see our little Lady and her parents too.  You are amazing Dick Thiot!  This weekend, our Stacy had two family reunion photo shoots in southern California.  Pierce and Lady voted and wanted to come along.  Horray!  They've made it into a mini vacation and had lots of fun and Stacy got lots of fun photos and some great practice for our upcoming family reunion photos.

Our Dallas Thiots
Our Upstairs Thiot's have now been renamed our Dallas Thiots.  They slept for the first night in their own apartment, in their own bed with their own things surrounding them.  I'm amazed how in less that a week, they have got things looking sooooooooooooo stink'n cute and settled in.  When Sky and Dick arrived last Sunday night after their 27 hour straight drive through, exhausted, but wanting to return the truck, Ricky became the hero sibling and came and helped them unload that sweet Penske truck and get them started on the settling in.  Kara took a day off of work, and worked a mighty miracle.  She is loving putting out their things, wedding gifts that they've never lived with and just making it look like their home.  Dick and I were invited over yesterday for a picture hanging party and we LOVED getting to help and seeing how awesome their things look.  Way to go!

We Empty Nesters
It's a little lonesome at our house, but we are so glad that Kara and Sky are so happy in their very own place.  It's nice that they are only 30 minutes away and some day I will get brave enough to drive down town to visit them without Dick.
Today is Mothers Day and it's a favorite day of mine.  It's always been a very hard day for Dick since his mom is in heaven now.  I was telling him  yesterday that I can only imagine how many times a day she must smile watching over all of us here.  It's a wonderful thing having a grandmother in heaven looking out for you. I used to feel so sad that she missed meeting her last grandchild Sky and her eight greats in this life, but I know for sure that s he has met them all and that she loves them all and watches out for them every day.  We miss her like crazy and love keeping her memory alive by telling her stories to our little ones.
I'm so grateful that my mom is still here watching out for us on this side.  She has been a wonderful example to me of how to be a mom and even more fun, how to be a Grammy.  She often gets phone calls from grandsons with a conversation something like this,  "Hi Gram, it's your favorite Grandson".  She loves it as they all think they are her favorite and you know what, they are ALL her favorites.  She has that gift of making you feel so loved and special.  Happy Mothers Day Mom.  I love you dearly and love all the things you have taught me.
Dick is speaking in Sacrament Meeting this morning, just like Tatia is in her ward.  Dick has been asked several times to speak on mothers day.  I can tell you the reason why, he has a wonderful mother and he is a wonderful son.  I hope she will get to listen in today in our ward and hear him pay tribute to that small in statue woman, but great and mighty in spirit.  I love you too Mom Mom!  Good Luck Dick, I love you too.
This may take the prize in being the longest Thiot Times.  I'm hoping to play catch up on Last weeks, but no guarantees.  SLY Robynn
