Ricky is out of town this weekend with a group of guys who get together once a year to draft their fantasy football team. Yes you read that correctly, I think.  Interesting.  They met this year in Las Vegas and played golf a few times and had a good time.  Ricky will be home Monday evening.  Becky and the girls have had fun swimming with friends and hanging out together.  Dick and I snuck over on Saturday afternoon and swiped the two big girls and went to see the new movie Planes.  Guess what, we LOVED it.  It was about a little crop duster named Dusty who wanted to fly in a race around the world.  It was very exciting and we give it 8 thumbs up.  Thanks Brookie and Addie Mae for going with us.  Earlier in the week, we loved having them over for a mini Grammy Camp.  Kinsley joined us for some fun times.  We can't wait to do it again soon.

It' been a fun filled week in Virginia.  Splash Parks, and a party with Jakes Pathology group were sure highlights.  Our Maxwell turned 4 months and had his check up and is growing great.  He is a darling little boy who is growing up tooo fast.  SLOW Down Maxwell!  This coming week is going to be a big one for our Penny. It's being titled,  PENNY Climbs aboard the Potty Train!  We are hopeful that it will be a fun week and that Miss Penny will catch the vision of how wonderful it can be to wear Panties instead of Diapers.  She is such  a smarty pants, I think she will do well.  A jar of Reece's pieces may act as a great incentive.  Good Luck Penny Lani!

Today our Keelie gave a talk in Primary about Prayer.  Charlie was able to record it on his phone and sent it to Dick and I to listen too  Keelie, I loved hearing your talk. I could just imagine myself in your Primary room listening to you in person.  Well Done!  I heard but have not dared watch, that Char took a video of him tossing Callum into the air.  Oh Charlie, please, please, please, be careful with our little boy.  I'm guessing the Kenzie and Keelie are busy getting ready for Back to School.  Keelie's Kindergarten get to wear uniforms to school.  What fun that will be.  I'd love to see your picture in yours Keelie.

Pierce spent a few days in Pennsylvania for work again this week.  What a jet setter he is turning into.  I got the cutest little video of Miss Adelaide this week.  She looked so cute, I'm going to try to put it on the blog, cross your fingers that I might be smart enough to figure it out.  Pierce also filmed his own version of Planes.  He took it on his fight home and it was awesome too.  Only 15 seconds as compared to the 100 minutes of the Disney Version.  GO PIERCE!

Sky and Kara met Charlie, Mackenzie, Keelie and Callum at the Oakland temple on Saturday morning and got to watch the kids while Char and Kenzie went to see one of Kenzie's friends get married.  What a wonderful day it was and Sky and Kara LOVED seeing the kids and they loved playing hide and go seek on the temple grounds.  What fun!

This week we had a fun evening on Wednesday night.  We invited Dick's old Bishopric for dinner at Dickies Barbeque.  It was not only tasty, but mighty fun to look back and remember good times, challenging times and thing we didn't ever want to forget.  I found these darling Willow angels holding bouquet of forget me nots for the wifes.  It has been a blessed six years and we will miss getting to rub shoulders so often with these good people.
We had a wonderful evening Friday night.  Ben, Rebecca, Kinsley, Owen and Luke invites us to go to the circus with them.  We had great seats and had a wonderful time.  Thank you Christensens!!!!   I hope your week has been good too. SLY Robynn

We had our first official sleep over in the "Sleep Over Room" this past weekender.  Oh my, what fun to have Brooklyn and Addison come and get to spend a couple of nights.  We even grabbed Kinsley Kate on Sunday evening and she joined in the fun.  I will admit that it might take a bit of practice to actually be able to sleep all night in the sleep over room.  It's upstairs, and the master bedroom is down stairs.  The girls noticed the distance and weren't too excited.  We are working on that for next time.  We packed a lot of fun into our weekend and I was sad to see them leave.  We might be able to squeeze in one more before school starts.  I'm crossing my fingers.

Tatia and Jake have had a very Entertaining Week at their home.  They've had several occasions to host friends and the best was a little "Texas Family".  In our ward, since most of us don't have family near by, we adopt one another and become what we call "Texas family."  Sunday afternoon the dear Higbee family stopped by for a delightful visit with Tatia and Jake and Penny and Maxwell.  They don't have grandchildren yet, and they've loved sharing ours with us.  Penny loves Linda and Bob and I'm sure Maxwell will fill the same when he grows up a bit more.  The time went all to fast but every minute was enjoyed.  Thanks Higbees!

Do you remember playing hopscotch when you were younger?  I  must admit, it was a favorite of mine and I was thrilled to get a video of Keelie and Callum playing hop scotch right next to a beautiful Texas flag they had drawn on their driveway.  I LOVED it.  Thanks Charlie for sending that my way.  What talented hop scotching grandchildren I have.  When the girl were here this weekend, on a walk we took, we came across a hop scotch some one had side walked chalked on the side walk.  We loved hoping on it too.  Charlie's family headed to Oakland last weekend to watch the Texas Rangers get beat b y the Oakland A 's.  That was not supposed to be what happened, but it was.  What fun they had anyway.  Better luck next time Rangers!

Pierce called this week with a date and time that his documentary will be coming on TV that he has been working so hard on.  August 27th at 7:00 pm on ESPN.  Exciting times.  I can hardly wait to see it.  Go Pierce!  Baby Adelaide had her six week checker upper last week and weighed in at five pounds 10 ounces.  Way to GROW Adelaide!  We are so proud of you.  Pierce and Stacy planted a little inside succulent garden this weekend and have got some darling little plants growing at their home.  So fun.

Kara's mom and Kara's two nephews, Shannon and Kelley came for a visit this past weekend.  Oh my, did they have a good time.  The highlight may have been a trip to the tank museum.  The family that Kara works for, has a collection of Tanks, not fish tanks, not swimming tanks, not tank tops, but real old Army Tanks.  Those two boys thought that was way cool.  Sky and Kara ended up having to work more than they had hoped but did get to spend some fun time checking our San Fran with the guys and Kara's mom.  What fun!

Dick had his first full week of not being the Bishop.  He struggled a few nights trying to remember what you do on Tuesday night when you have no interviews or appointments, or on Wednesday night when you don't get to go to Young Men Young Women's.  He did enjoy Thursday night when he volunteered to be the Nursery Team for Relief Society.  I think he's going to get the hang of it just fine real soon.
One of my favorite parts of the week was learning to make salsa and tortillas at Relief Society. They were both so good and I think Dick and I will never buy store bought salsa ever again.  It was yummy and easy and so much better than out of a jar.  We had the elders to dinner last night and they finished it off,  They loved it too.  I'm going to try to share the recipe on this blog so you could try it too.  I hope you have had a good week and that you know I'm thinking about you.
