Our Mansfield Thiots
This week brought a bit more excitement than most.  We thought last week was exciting with the tornado sirens blasting through Mansfield.  This week our Brooklyn was at school and had an asthma attack.  She was in PE and they were hula hooping.  She was doing a super duper job when she couldn't catch her breath.  The coach ran her to the nurses office who called 911 and had the paramedics on their way and then called Becky who got there just as the fire trucks pulled up and had her medication to help her.  Happy Day all is well, but what a scare.  Becky took Brooklyn to the doctor later that afternoon and she now has  some equipment to help her out better and one to keep at school too.  On a more cheery note, a family who's children were growing up, offered to give Ricky's family a water slide.  It's one you blow up and ride down.  It fit perfectly in their side yard in the back and has already provided many hours of enjoyment.  What dear friends to share.  I can hardly wait to get over there and try it out myself.:)

Penny checked a few things off her bucket list this week.  She and her family went to the zoo in Fort Worth with their friends the Monsons.  She loved the penguins, the tigers and especially the phones that you can pick up and have them tell you about the animals you are looking at.  She almost hated to move from one exhibit to the next as she was enjoying those so much.  Then another thing she was wishing for was a sleep over with her cousins Brooklyn and Addison.  She talks about those cousins every day.  We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend sleepover.  Tatia took some fun photos and we will have lots of good memories.  We swam, we played at the playground, we got new matching shirts, we watched a Muppet Movie or Puppet Movie as Penny calls them, and went to the DFW National Cemetery and saw so many flags and graves.  It was wonderful to share with them the meaning of Memorial Day and be there together.

Our Carmichael Thiots
Charlie, Kenzie, Keelie and Callum had a fun Memorial Day Weekend.  Charlie enjoyed his day off of work on Monday and loved spending time with his family that day.  He went for an early morning run and then they went for a hike followed by a swim and a yummy cook out at Grandma and Grandpa Smiths.  They are sure excited about Aunt Kelzie's upcoming wedding later this summer, I bet Kenzie is a big help to her sweet little sister.  I found some fun patriotic shirts for the grandkids and had a fun thought, instead of mailing Callum and Keelie theirs, I can deliver them in person.  I can't believe in 3 weeks I will be there with you for a whole week.  I am counting the days.

Our LA Thiots
Pierce and Stacy spend the Memorial Day weekend apart for the first time.  Pierce had an assignment/opportunity to travel to Washington DC and then on to Chicago for some work combined with some fun which is sometimes the case in the advertising world  His dad was so excited about Pierces opportunities, that he turned in his frequent flyer miles to join him on his second leg in Chicago to attend a baseball came at Wrigley field tomorrow night.  Dick has a goal of going to a baseball game with each of his boys this summer.  He is not against traveling to make this goal complete.  Charlie, find a game while he is in town next month.:) Along with Brooklyn's medical scare last week, Stacy and Pierce had one too.  Stacy had a doctors appointment last Monday and with some test results, they were sent to the hospital to be monitored for the rest of the day.  I'm glad to report that everything is fine, but they will be watching Stacy closely during her last seven weeks.  You are in our prayers.

Our Upstairs Thiots
Kara had a wonderful memorial day weekender.  Her old roommate was married on Friday in the Columbia River Temple in the Tri cities area in Washington State.  She was a brides maid and was able to go and attend the wedding and all the fun celebrations.  Sky stayed home although he almost felt like he was there and Kara was awesome at sending photos and sharing her fun experiences there.  She arrived home on Sunday night and had to open her store on Monday and she and Sky headed right over to Arlington for some memorial Day celebrations with her family when she got off work.  I've seen her car, so I know she is home but I haven't seen her yet.  Sky's big news is that he purchased a new car this week.  It's a 2012 Toyota Prius.  He even let me drop him off at the train one morning so I could drive it home.  It's pretty sweet and he hasn't taken the smile of his face yet.  Congrates!

Dick is in charge of the Seminary Breakfast on Friday and is trying to figure out how to feed those 80 hungry kids.  Last time they bought every kind of sugar cereal they could find to spoil them and it didn't turn out to be as big of a thrill as they had hoped.  They are thinking pancakes and maybe trying out the pre-fab frozen variety.  Any one have any experience with those they could share?  Could be yummy with plenty of syrup or strawberry jam and whipped cream.
Last Wednesday I had a bit of fun too.  I had a little spot of cancer on my lip removed which has made for a fun week of sporting a big bandage.  I was nervous to take off the Band-Aid and was pleasantly surprised to see what a nice job Dr. Perry did of stitching it back up.  He told me he thought the incision would heal nicely and would fit in well with the rest of my wrinkles.  FUNNY Man!  I get the stitches out on Friday and will be glad to have the Band-Aid gone.  It made for quite a lot of stares from my Primary children.  They are so sweet to notice when things are different.  I hope you've had a good week and that you are looking forward to this new one too.  SLY Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiots
It's officially Spring in Texas as the crazy weather of Springtime has moved in.  The Mansfield Thiots were able to test out their "safe room" this week during our tornado warnings.  The syrins went off in Mansfield multiple times.  As I watched the weather on TV, I kept praying for that storm to move away from Mansfield and was surely grateful when it did.  Ricky and Becky have a true gift of making things fun even things that could be terrifying to little ladies, they turn into an adventure.  I'm so grateful that each one of my grandchildren have been blessed with wonderful parents to keep them safe.  Thank you Ricky & Becky!

Our Upstairs Granges
Today starts the two week count down for the moving adventure.  Tatia and Jake have made a "bucket list" of things they want to do, people they want to see, and photos they want to take.  Jake is keeping them on track and they are checking things off daily.  They wanted a family picture taken with downtown Dallas in the background and took it themselves.  Quite REMARKABLE.  I'm hoping they will share it with me and I can share it with you.  They went to the library last week and checked out picture books of Virginia to get Miss Penny excited about her new neighborhood.  What a beautiful part of our world they are moving to.  We are all "trying" to get really excited for them.

Our Carmichael Thiots
Little Miss Keelie competed in her first swim meet this weekend.  She joined the local swim team this spring and Saturday was the first meet.  It's hard for me to even believe that Five year olds can swim let alone compete in swim  meets.  If I hadn't seen the photos and the video, I might not still.  Keelie, you are INCREDIALBE.  Way to swim girl!  She competed in the back stroke which is not the easiest thing to do and she did it Gr-8!!!!!  Swim Keelie Swim!

Our Los Angeles Thiots
After spending last weekend in Utah, the LA Thiots headed home on Sunday and got home just in time to MOVE, yes they moved to the apartment next door to theirs, Pierce said it's about 10 steps from their old front door to their new front door.  They are getting settled into their new home and are excited to have a room for their new little family member due to arrive in just 8 more weeks.  We are all getting so excited.  Today is our sweet Stacy's birthday.  Happy Birthday to you!!!!! We are surely blessed to have you in our family!

Our Upstairs Thiots
Sky and Kara have been doing a little car shopping.  Skyler sold our Green Jeep to Uncle Jeff and has been driving Kara's sweet purple PT Cruiser.  Kara's dad has been kind enough to share his brand new Kia Soul with Kara but I'm sure he is going to need that back one day soon.  They've been looking for a replacement car.  They have taken some fun test drives and are liking the new Toyota Prius.  I'll keep you posted on what they find.  Exciting Times.  A friend of Kara's is getting married this coming weekend up in the tri cities area of Washington State.  She is leaving on Thursday for the wedding and we are already missing her.  She has only had 2 days off from work since she and Sky moved is, so I think this is a well deserved get away! Have fun!

We Filled up Nesters
This weekend for the Father and Son's outing in our ward. Dick went up on Friday night and took banana splits for desert but didn't stay over.  He did stay long enough to bring home a few chigger bites and some fun memories.
Tatia came to the family history center on Thursday and took some pictures of my friends who work with me.  One of  them is moving to Chigaco later this summer.  She was wishing for a picture of us together.  It was fun.  Thanks Tatia!
I was blessed to be invited to some special training at the Dallas Temple on Sunday evening.  I have never been to the temple on Sunday although I have had people ask me why it wasn't opened on Sunday.  (People who don't understand what the temple is all about) It was a sweet experience to be there surrounded by ordinance workers and being trained by our dear temple presidency.  Their three years will be over in November.  It has surely sped by quickly.  They are lovely people who I sure love and respect.  I hope your week has been good and that you have many good things coming your way to look forward to.  SLY Robynn

Happy Birthday Stacy!

Today is my best friends birthday.  I wish he was out on the golf course instead of sitting in his office but no matter where he is, I'm sure he is happy doing what he is doing.  That's a gift that he has of being happy who ever he is with and what ever he is doing.   Happy Birthday to YOU!  I love YOU!

Our Mansfield Thiots
We got to have a fun visit with the Mansfield Thiots this week when they came to Miss Penny's 2nd Birthday party.  Every time we would ask Penny about her party, she would respond that Brooklyn's coming? Addie Mae?  We would reassure her that they were coming.  Dick called Ricky about 10:35 to make sure they were on their way and Ricky responded with "What party?  Where are we supposed to be?"  I just about died as I knew Penny would be so sad if they couldn't come.  Come to find out, they were teasing me and it sure worked.  It was so fun to see them and we had fun at the party.  We even had an after party event when Ricky and Becky ran a few errands and Harper took a nap and I got to enjoy the big girls for a while.  I loved it.  Thanks for lingering longer Mansfield Thiots.

Well, it is official, it's true!  Jake has completed Medical School and his rotations are also complete.  He has the rest of the month of May to get ready to move and to have a little down time.  He has gotten a Rec pass to our local Rec Center and he and Penny have already gone for a swim and he is going to work out each morning while we are walking.  He has the next stage 3 test, I believe, to study for and plans to devote a few hours a day to studying at the library for that.  He is getting in some snuggle time with Max and Penny is loving spending time with Daddy.  He is trying to unspoil a bit of the spoiling I've been doing for the past six weeks.  Sorry guys.
Our Carmichael Thiots
Since last week, there was not a Thiot Times, I would like to report this week that Keelie Christina had a friends birthday party at her Grandma's house last Saturday.  I wish I could have been there in attendance as I heard it was way fun.  I still can't believe that you are FIVE Keelie!  Way to go!
Our LA Thiots
Stacy and Pierce have been taking at Bradley Child Birthing Class.  It's a method that has been around for many years and they have really enjoyed doing it together.  Stacy is looking forward to a drug free child birthing experience.  Pierce told her he hopes her stubbornness will pay off and she can do it.  Go S & P!!!!!
Our Upstairs Thiots
Skyler, Kara & Branson the cat arrived almost two weeks ago. (Branson & Rocky are doing well together)  They both started work last Monday and have been busy every since.  Kara's job in Utah transferred her here to a jewelry store and she has been busy getting that little store cleaned up and better organized.  Kara was the Master of Ceremonies for the Backyard Show at Penny's birthday.  She was darling mixing in fun jokes in between acts.  I loved it.  Skyler drew a darling trollies car on the back fence with side walk chalk.  I hope it lasts all summer long as I love looking at it.  Thanks you two!
Our Filled up Nesters
This  has been such a fun few weeks having a house full again.  Its fun to set the table for seven just like it used to be for so many years.  It's even more fun to have assigned nights to cook and have guest chefs in the house.  Jake made the yummiest crepes for Sunday dinner.  He is a great crepe maker. It's been so fun to have everyone together.  My favorite night was Saturday night when we got dinner to go at Chuy's due to a LONG wait time for a table. We brought the dinner home and set up our tables and chairs from the birthday party and had dinner under the stars.  The little girls loved it as they could play when they finished eating which can take about 3 minutes, and it was yummy and fun.  I can hardly wait to see what this week will bring.
We had our Stake Conference on Sunday. Dick was invited to some special training on Saturday and loved it.  I loved Sundays session.  Elder D. Todd Christofferson was our visiting Apostle.  He gave a wonderful talk reminding us all of things we could try harder to do better.  It was a wonderful morning.  Now we just need to put them into practice.  I hope you've had a great week. SLY Robynn
