Our Mansfield Thiots

First of all, I’m glad to share the good news that Ricky’s eye is healing up well. What a blessing to have good doctors and lots of prayers going heavenward for him. Thank you all. Last Sunday, Ricky gave his sweet little Harper a beautiful name and blessing. Harper Grace Thiot is a dear little lady who loved her name and was very sweet and quiet during the prayer. She looked so cute in her blessing dress. It was beautiful, a little slippery but oh soooooo pretty. It was sure fun to see Jim and Diane, Becky’s parents. I’m so glad they were able to come. Becky’s dad Jim gave Becky for her birthday a garage makeover. They build shelves and cleaned out and organized all their things in the garage. Becky had a list of fix it projects that he accomplished too. He’s a great fixer and Ricky loved being tutored at his side. Families are the best!

Our Lovers Lane Granges

When Sky and Kara were in town earlier in the week, we saw Tatia and Penny almost every day. That was really fun for me. Penny just gets more and more fun each time I see her. She is quite a talker and loves to repeat most things you say to her. One of our missionaries, Elder Mac, makes a whistling sound that you would swear is a bird. Penny loves him and always says birdie birdie when she see’s him. We are going to miss Elder McIntosh when he is transferred to east Texas this Tuesday. He’s only been here for 12 weeks, but he feels a part of our family. Jake is working in Grand Prairie with a doctor in his late 80’s. He is a real country doctor and Jake has enjoyed learning from him. It makes for quite a commute each day, but he is learning much.

Our Carmichael Thiots

Miss Keelie started preschool and is loving having Home Preschool this year. She is already quite a smart little reader and they were afraid she would be totally board in preschool, so Mackenzie is having preschool at home for she and Callum. They are enjoying this special time together and Keelie is doing great. Keelie has also started fall soccer and it looks like she is going to be as amazing as both her parents are at soccer. Charlie had an interesting opportunity yesterday. There was a Ham Com which gave him the opportunity to take his tests for his Ham Operator License. Dick has long been a ham and had hoped that his kids might join him. He’s thrilled to have Charlie on board with him.

Our LA Thiots

Pierce called on Friday night, after I was already asleep, and said he and Stacy were having a Costco date night and dinner for $1.59 and it reminded him of me and so he thought he would call and say hello. We did get to talk to him for a few minutes on Saturday night. They had a good and busy week. Pierce was one of the Nursery Team for Relief Society during the week earlier in the week and then had to head back to work for a few hours. He said he thought that was something dad would have done too. He is right. These Thiot men are good guys who know how to work for sure.

Our Provo Thiots

We sure enjoyed having Kara and Skyler in town. The time went by all to quickly but I can say, we enjoyed every minute. They were smart to make plans ahead of time and they tried very hard to divide their time up so both families got to enjoy them. We had Sky’s, Tatia’s and Becky’s birthdays to celebrate while they were here. The last night we went to Benehana’s and celebrated. There were 11 of us there and it was quite a wild and crazy time. We voted afterwards that next time, babysitters might make it a bit easier and more enjoyable. When Dick and I got in the car to go home, we both looked at each other and said, can you believe they are ALL ours? It was fun. Thanks for coming Kara and Skyler!

We Empty Nesters
Dick and I have a tradition that on Labor Day, we choose a project to do together.  Nearly every single year, it involves the garage.  This year the garage was in dire need of a clean up.  One of the things we discovered while cleaning was that our current vaccuum was sprewing more dust out than it was sucking back in.  DIck told me to put getting a new vaccumn on my list of to do's.  He said he did not want out old one back in the house.  So, I am the happy owner of a new vaccuum.  I'm spent most of my free time this week behind it.  It's amazing and I'm so thrilled.
My phone rang early Saturday morning and it was my sister Laurie asking if I had heard that Skyler had been on the news on Friday night. For one of his classes he had to do a social media project and he attracted quite a bit of attention so much so that the news got a piece of the action too. You can watch it from this link if you are interested. http://fox13now.com/2012/09/07/a-push-to-caffeinate-byus-campus  I don’t think I agree with Sky’s idea, but I’m glad he knows how to make his opinion known. Dick has been busy for a few weeks getting a new server installed at DCS. He keeps telling me that it has to go Live. I’m sure I don’t understand what that all means, but he has put in lots of time and we are both hoping that it all works as some big wig is coming to inspect it tomorrow. This weekend is Stake Conference for the Plano, Texas Stake. That means we meet together on Sunday at noon. Dick is having his regular bishopric meeting and PPI’s this morning but said it should be an easier Sunday than most. I’m glad to have him home a little more. I hope you have a great week. Sure love you, Robynn

Happy Birthday Becky!

Tuesday, September 04, 2012

Seven and 1/2 years ago, Ricky's sweet Becky joined our family and today is her birthday.  Even though we weren't there when she was born, she is certainly a big part of our family.  She is a wonderful wife, mommy and daughter in law.  We love you Becky and wish you a very happy day!
