Our Mansfield Thiot’s
Ricky & Becky’s good friends the Wetsteins that moved to Houston a few months ago have been in town this weekend. They came to visit and also for a trip to the Monster Truck show. They have been looking forward to that fun event. When Ricky was a little boy he loved to go with Dick and he even went with my dad one time when Dick couldn’t take him. He has always loved the craziness of that event. He was delighted when his friend Brian had an extra ticket and was thrilled to go with him. He left Becky and the girls at home to not be tortured with the loudness of the event. It might have really frightened baby number 3. I hope you had a good time and girls, I hope you had a fun girls night home. I miss you.
Our Lovers Lane Granges
This week started out great and ended up with little Penny coming down with roseolla. She’s run a fever and now has a rash all over her darling little body. She is just not herself. I got to tend her for a little while so that Tatia and Jake could go to the temple and she mostly just wanted to snuggle, which I loved but which is not normal for Penny. She usually prefers to be playing toys or walking with her walker or any number of things. We did get to go out and sit by the pool as the weather was nice on Saturday. Tatia got the rest of her chairs painted earlier in the week and I recovered her chair pads and they surely look cute in her home. It’s amazing to me what a can of spray paint can do to jazz up some kind of old and not too cute looking chairs. Go Tatia! Feel better sweet Penny.
Our Carmichael Thiot’s
Charlie called on Friday on his way home from work. He was driving the jeep and it was not a very good phone connection. At first I thought it was Dick. I’m giving credit to that to the noise of the Jeep and not to my old brain. Anyway he shared some great news that he had gotten a promotion at work. He was excited about it and thinks he is up for the job. I agree. What a lucky bank to have Charlie working there. Congratulations Charlie and to all the Carmichael Thiot’s. Mackenzie sent me a cute picture of Keelie doing some yard work and a darling picture of Callum in his Number 1 birthday t-shirt. It’s darling and so is he. Keelie, I wish you were close enough to pull out weeds in my garden too. You do great work.
Our LA Thiot’s
I’m guessing the LA Thiot’s are super busy this week as I haven’t heard from Pierce. Work is a good thing and having a job is important. I do miss the days when he had a bit more free time to call and share his fun day with me. Stacy posted a fun photo on their blog this week of their book shelf. I’ve seen it in person and can vouch for the fact that it is very neat and orderly. Pierce has always liked things to be in the right spot and is amazing. I loved looking at your fun things and books. Thanks for sharing that Stacy!
Our Provo Thiot’s
Our Provo Thiot’s are likewise super busy this week. No word from them. I hope all is well.. I just got off the phone with my mom who has heard from the Provo Thiot's. They are on their way to Salt Lake to attend church there for a class assignment and then are stopping by Gram's to install her birthday gift from Tatia and Sky. A camera to hook onto her computer so she can skipe with her grandkids and great granchildren who live far from her. What fun that will be. Thank you Sky and Kara!!!!!
We Plano Thiot’s
Earlier this week, while I was walking, I walked past this darling little round table that was sitting in a driveway with a sign, "FREE". It needed a new home and I could tell that it would be fun in my home. With 1/2 a bottle of windex and a roll of paper towels, it's looking good and I love it. I've never had a coffee table and it's just what I was wishing for.
Today is our Ward conference which has made for a lovely week getting ready for it. I always tease Dick , that Ward Conference is kind of like giving “The State of the Union/Ward” address that the President gives annually. He’s been thinking about it and maybe even worrying a little bit about it since last March when he gave his last one. He’s a great speaker and will do a wonderful job. He has truly put a lot of thought and prayer into preparing to speak today. Our Stake Primary counterparts met with us on Thursday evening and we went with them to visit 3 of our Primary families. What a delight that was to be in their homes and share the love that we have for them and the love our Heavenly Father has for them. I do love my little Primary children, even those wiggly ones that have soooooooooooo much to say.
I had a fun Wednesday morning tending two, two year old twins. Oh how I love Luke and Owen. The weather was lovely and we got to play in their backyard. They love their new sandbox and are amazing going down the slippery slide. I love watching them and loving them.
Tatia sent me a picture of her and Penny reading a sweet little book called “The Lost Sheep” With Penny being sick, they are staying home from church and I found that sweet little book yesterday. It was the first talk Tatia gave when she was a tiny little girl. I can still remember her little voice saying, “Wouldn’t you think 99 sheep would be enough? No Jesus needed all 100” I just knew that Miss Penny would love that story too. I hope you have had a good week and that you know how much I love you. SLY Robynn
