Our Mansfield Thiot’s
Ricky & Becky’s good friends the Wetsteins that moved to Houston a few months ago have been in town this weekend. They came to visit and also for a trip to the Monster Truck show. They have been looking forward to that fun event. When Ricky was a little boy he loved to go with Dick and he even went with my dad one time when Dick couldn’t take him. He has always loved the craziness of that event. He was delighted when his friend Brian had an extra ticket and was thrilled to go with him. He left Becky and the girls at home to not be tortured with the loudness of the event. It might have really frightened baby number 3. I hope you had a good time and girls, I hope you had a fun girls night home. I miss you.

This week started out great and ended up with little Penny coming down with roseolla. She’s run a fever and now has a rash all over her darling little body. She is just not herself. I got to tend her for a little while so that Tatia and Jake could go to the temple and she mostly just wanted to snuggle, which I loved but which is not normal for Penny. She usually prefers to be playing toys or walking with her walker or any number of things. We did get to go out and sit by the pool as the weather was nice on Saturday. Tatia got the rest of her chairs painted earlier in the week and I recovered her chair pads and they surely look cute in her home. It’s amazing to me what a can of spray paint can do to jazz up some kind of old and not too cute looking chairs. Go Tatia! Feel better sweet Penny.

Our Carmichael Thiot’s
Charlie called on Friday on his way home from work. He was driving the jeep and it was not a very good phone connection. At first I thought it was Dick. I’m giving credit to that to the noise of the Jeep and not to my old brain. Anyway he shared some great news that he had gotten a promotion at work. He was excited about it and thinks he is up for the job. I agree. What a lucky bank to have Charlie working there. Congratulations Charlie and to all the Carmichael Thiot’s. Mackenzie sent me a cute picture of Keelie doing some yard work and a darling picture of Callum in his Number 1 birthday t-shirt. It’s darling and so is he. Keelie, I wish you were close enough to pull out weeds in my garden too. You do great work.

Our LA Thiot’s
I’m guessing the LA Thiot’s are super busy this week as I haven’t heard from Pierce. Work is a good thing and having a job is important. I do miss the days when he had a bit more free time to call and share his fun day with me. Stacy posted a fun photo on their blog this week of their book shelf. I’ve seen it in person and can vouch for the fact that it is very neat and orderly. Pierce has always liked things to be in the right spot and is amazing. I loved looking at your fun things and books. Thanks for sharing that Stacy!

Our Provo Thiot’s
Our Provo Thiot’s are likewise super busy this week. No word from them. I hope all is well.. I just got off the phone with my mom who has heard from the Provo Thiot's. They are on their way to Salt Lake to attend church there for a class assignment and then are stopping by Gram's to install her birthday gift from Tatia and Sky. A camera to hook onto her computer so she can skipe with her grandkids and great granchildren who live far from her. What fun that will be. Thank you Sky and Kara!!!!!

We Plano Thiot’s
Earlier this week, while I was walking, I walked past this darling little round table that was sitting in a driveway with a sign, "FREE". It needed a new home and I could tell that it would be fun in my home. With 1/2 a bottle of windex and a roll of paper towels, it's looking good and I love it. I've never had a coffee table and it's just what I was wishing for.
Today is our Ward conference which has made for a lovely week getting ready for it. I always tease Dick , that Ward Conference is kind of like giving “The State of the Union/Ward” address that the President gives annually. He’s been thinking about it and maybe even worrying a little bit about it since last March when he gave his last one. He’s a great speaker and will do a wonderful job. He has truly put a lot of thought and prayer into preparing to speak today. Our Stake Primary counterparts met with us on Thursday evening and we went with them to visit 3 of our Primary families. What a delight that was to be in their homes and share the love that we have for them and the love our Heavenly Father has for them. I do love my little Primary children, even those wiggly ones that have soooooooooooo much to say.
I had a fun Wednesday morning tending two, two year old twins. Oh how I love Luke and Owen. The weather was lovely and we got to play in their backyard. They love their new sandbox and are amazing going down the slippery slide. I love watching them and loving them.
Tatia sent me a picture of her and Penny reading a sweet little book called “The Lost Sheep” With Penny being sick, they are staying home from church and I found that sweet little book yesterday. It was the first talk Tatia gave when she was a tiny little girl. I can still remember her little voice saying, “Wouldn’t you think 99 sheep would be enough? No Jesus needed all 100” I just knew that Miss Penny would love that story too. I hope you have had a good week and that you know how much I love you. SLY Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiot’s
Ricky and Becky returned from their New York City Getaway on Tuesday evening. They basically hit the ground running. Ricky had to leave the next day for a week of sales calls in the Houston area and Becky was right back on Mommy duty and all that comes with it. The girls and I had a very fun time but boy were they glad to see their Mommy and Daddy when they returned. I talked to Ricky as he was working on his list of honey dues on Saturday. He was trying to organize both their attic and garage. He was also sorting and making plans for a soon to be garage sale. It’s interesting how quickly we can accumulate “stuff” into our lives. Always a good thing to de junk a little and make room for new stuff.

Our Lovers Lane Granges
Tatia had a fun week getting ready for her book club group that met on Thursday night. Each of the med students wives take a month of the year and choose a book to review and host it at their home. Tatia loves Jane Austen books and told the gals to choose one to read and they would share the reasons they loved it. Tatia had a fun craft prepared for them to do too along with some delicious hot cocoa and heart shaped Linzer cookies that are so nummy. Tatia said it was a fun evening. She was also relieved when it was done as she had a fun project she wanted to start. She has four kitchen chairs that she bought on Craig’s list and has wanted to paint them. Friday was the perfect weather for painting. No wind, No Rain, nice temperature. She brought over two chairs and we sanded them and Tatia primed them while I ran to get some aqua spray paint. They turned out way cute. I can’t wait for another perfect spray painting day to come along to do the others.

Our Carmichael Thiot’s
Charlie’s family had quite an adventure this weekend. Charlie serves in the Young men’s in his ward and the Young Men and Young Women had planned a trip to the temple. Not just any ordinary trip to the temple, but a Walking Temple Trip. They live about 7+miles from the beautiful Sacramento Temple and Saturday morning they left from their chapel and made the journey there. Charlie invited Mackenzie and Keelie and of course Callum to come along too. They all had a marvelous experience that I hope they will remember forever. What a blessing to have the temple so close by and what a great experience for the youth to learn more about it and get to hear from the temple President when they arrived there. Way to go Carmichael Thiot’s!.

Our LA Thiot’s
Pierce surprised Stacy with a fun Valentines date to Cirque du Soleil OVO. They had great time.
My sister’s son Jamie and his darling wife and two little girls are in Los Angeles this weekend to take the girls to Disneyland for the first time. I’m so hoping it worked out that Pierce and Stacy were able to see them while they are there. I know how much P&S love it when family and friends are in town. I’m crossing my fingers that it works out that they can get together for a visit.

Our Provo Thiot’s
I’m happy to report that the Provo Thiot’s are both feeling better. Hooray! I talked to Sky on Saturday and he told me that he had won a Sony Play Station from a contest at Taco Bell!!! Yo Quiero Taco Bell? Si Como no! He’s pretty excited and said they may try to sell it for some cash. He said he had a couple of tests this week and 3 projects and they all turned out well. He was most excited about the project for the Primary Children’s’ Hospital Children’s Miracle Network upcoming fundraiser. He got some good feed back on his ideas and is looking forward to working with them. They also had wonderful night on Thursday at the Provo Temple doing sealing’s. He and Kara love going to the temple together and offered to do some sealing’s for some family names I have recently found. That makes me happy. Kara and Sky are starting to feel at home in their new ward. They’ve made from new friends and are hoping for a calling soon.

I loved starting off my week by spending time with Brooklyn and Addison and Rocky. They are delightful little girls. They know how to keep a smile on their Grammy’s face. On Friday, I was invited to Kinsley Kate's Kindgergarten Program where they had memorized all of the Presidents of the United States of America. That is a LOT of Presidents and she knows all of their names perfectly. I loved being there and watching her shine at Ogle Elementary! Go Kinsley Kate!

This weekend has been our Stake Conference. We had the adult session last night and then the general session this morning. It feels kind of nice to have it be 12:31 and instead of getting ready to walk out the door to go to church, to be already back home. Dick has to return for some meetings and appointments but should be back home earlier than usual too. Tatia and Jake invited us to come to Sunday dinner and we are sure looking forward to that. We had an interesting visiting authority at conference. His name is Elder Keele from Reno, Nevada. He taught us much and Dad and I enjoyed getting to go together and sit together at church. Hooray for Stake Conference. Have a great week ya’ll. SLY Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiot’s
This was quite the long weekend for Ricky & Becky. Ricky found some great fairs on Spirit Airlines and took Becky for a get away to New York City. They left early Sunday morning and returned on Tuesday evening. They were able to see the Empire State Building, take a walk through Central Park, say Hello to Lady Liberty from the Staten Island Fairy, road the subway all over the place and got to be in the audience for the David Letterman show on Monday night. They had a lovely hotel on the 43rd floor and had a really good time. Brooklyn and Addison and Rocky came and hung out with Grammy and Graypa. We had an extra good time too. Brooklyn got to go to her first Valentine Party at preschool and was so thrilled with each and every Valentine she received. She especially loved the ones with something edible attached to them. I loved getting to take her to school and see her happy face when the party was over. She and Addison are delightful little ladies who I love so much. Our Mansfield Thiot’s win Best Weekender Getaway on a Dime.
Our Lovers Lane Granges
Jakes birthday on Wednesday turned into a week of celebrations. Tatia always “pretends” to forget which day his real birthday is, so they celebrate a day early on the 7th as well. Tatia took Jake to a movie and to dinner on his real day and Graypa and I got to tend Penny. We all loved that. Then on Thursday, Tatia invited a bunch of Jakes friends and their wives over for a Cheesecake Party. Yummy! On Saturday our family celebrated the February Birthdays Pirate Style and we sure had a fun time. Graypa even made everybody walk the plank as they exited. Jake made his famous Cheese Steak Sandwiches which were gobbled up in fine style. We loved celebrating Rebecca and Luke and Owens upcoming birthdays too. Happy Birthday ya’ll! Our Lovers Lane Granges win Best Birthday Celebrations!

Dad and I spent a while this afternoon getting the registration updated on the blue jeep. We were at the Vehicle Registration spot for quite a while. We had to call Char’s insurance agent to have his liability insurance
verified and it took a while to get the fax back. I have to say, it was kind of fun to have a date with Dick in the middle of the day. Charlie called last week to make sure I was in fact getting it taken care of as they were getting the windshields replaced on both of their cars. He was hoping for the new window sticker. It’s on its way Charlie Jay. Sorry to be a bit poky at taking care of that. I’m glad to report that the Carmichael Thiot’s are feeling better after a few weeks of being under the weather. You win the award for Two Crack-free Windshields.
Our LA Thiot’s
Pierce has been enjoying riding his bike to work and they finally found a sweet white bike for Stacy, it’s a beach cruiser and she has been enjoying it. One night last week they planned a date to ride to Costco for hotdogs for dinner. Quite a thrifty date as they wouldn’t have to buy gas and the hotdogs are only $1.50. On the way to Costco, Stacy hit the curb wrong and crashed. The good news was that she didn’t put a single scratch on her beautiful new bike but she did get quite a few bruises and scratches on herself. She said she knew that she could heal up, but that the bike could not. I’m so sorry you were hurt Stacy but glad you are feeling better. I’m glad the two of you are enjoying your time together on bikes. You win the award of the Most Creative Date of the Week.
Our Provo Thiot’s
My cousin Kathy P called this week to tell me that she had been watching the news on Tuesday afternoon and guess who the anchor lady was, You are correct, it was the darling Kara Thiot. She was so tickled and had to call and share the good news. I loved it. For one of Sky’s classes he is doing some work with a Television Station in Park City, Utah. He and the TV Station manager really hit it off and Sky is looking forward to doing some work for them. Sky talked to him about helping Kara find a summer internship and that may be in the works too. What a wonderful day that was. You win the award for Meeting Someone with Great Connections.
We Plano Thiot’s
Dick had an invite to play golf last week one day and had to cancel because of too much work. I’m hoping he gets to play this week. He’s been busy working on getting the paper work together to refinance our home with the lower interest rates. I’ve never signed my name so many times in all my life. I hope we get it finished soon. Dick wins the award for working hardest for our family. Have a good week ya’ll! SLY Robynn

Our Mansfield Thiot’s
What a fun evening the Mansfield Thiot’s hosted on Monday night to announce if the new baby coming in June was going to be a girl or a boy. It’s a GIRL and we are thrilled with that good news. It was fun to have Becky’s Grandma there along with her brother Matt and his wife Hailey. Jake, Tatia and Penny and Dick and I were there too. We loved it. Grandma Gloria left on Tuesday and Matt and Hailey moved it. Matthew joined the Navy and will leave for basic training on the 12th of February, so they will be there until he leaves. Hailey is moving back to California to stay with family there. It’s been fun to have them live in Texas for last past year. We will miss them.

Penny celebrated her 9 month birthday on the 2nd of February. She had her 9 month check up that morning and got a very good report card. She is almost 19 pounds and is 28 inches long. She got a shot and was sad for just a very few minutes. She has two new teeth coming in. She has been a very nice girl even with reason to be cranky. Penny did have one funny thing this week. Tatia has been enjoying “styling” Penny’s hair in a curl on top and has used Karo syrup to stick a bow on her head. The funny news was that Penny got the bow off her head and ate it. I think the Karo syrup sweetened up the ribbon to be quite tasty. Oh miss Penny. You are a funny girl.
Our Carmichael Thiot’s
Charlie called us on Wednesday and told us that Miss Keelie had had a stomach bug and had been throwing up earlier in the week and then Mr. Callum caught it too. Oh that makes for a bad week with two little ones sick and not being able to give you much warning. Lots of laundry and lots of carpet cleaning. I’m so sorry and I am surely hoping they are feeling much better. I love you Carmichael Thiot’s and you are in my prayers.
Our L.A. Thiot’s
It’s been fun to watch Stacy’s photography blog this week as she has been working on her photo shoots. It’s so fun when she posts the pictures. I especially loved it when she had Sky and Kara’s wedding pictures posted on her blog. They turned out very nice and I’m sure Sky and Kara are very happy with them. At the family history center on Thursday, I had a fun discovery. I have been looking for the parents of Pierce Butler Mundy who was Dick’s great grandfather. I’ve looked other times and never had any luck. This time when I looked, someone had left a message looking for more information on Elbert Mundy who had a son named Pierce Butler Mundy. I was soooooooooooo excited and wondered if this could possibly be the person who I have been searching for. She even had the name of his wife Elizabeth Mays Mundy. I searched for 4 hours looking for proof of this relationship. I’m still hoping that I will be able to fin this proof. I’m hoping with Pierce’s sweet Family History Skills, maybe he can help. (hint hint)

Skyler has two leads on to guys who may be interested in renting his apartment. Today is fast Sunday, the first Sunday of the month when we as a church fast. This is surely in my fasting and prayers that one of these young men may make a decision to buy Sky’s contract and help relieve the financial burden an extra apartment rent has brought on that new little family. I’m thinking positive. Between School classes and jobs, they are both staying busy and out of trouble.
We Plano Thiot’s
Friday night we were lucky enough to get to tend Ben and Rebecca’s kids so they could have a date. Dick had so much fun with those little boys who are almost two. They were in such a fun mood and didn’t even notice when their parents snuck out. Dick was a twin jungle gym and had a great time. Kinsley and I had fun looking at her fun Christmas gifts and I loved watching her and listening to her play with her music maker. Tatia used to have one that you slide the music in and then using a pick, you pick the wire that the note is on and it makes WONDERFUL Music. Kinsley is only 5 but is very, very good at it. It brought back memories of watching Tatia play with hers. Such fun.
Saturday morning we were invited to the baptism of Jacob Taylor. He is a wonderful little boy who has a very special place in my heart. Jacob has downs syndrome and has such a love for all people. He was so very thrilled to be getting baptized. I’m so glad we were able to be there with him and his family. What a sweet spirit attends baptisms.
We came home from the baptism and Dick had a minute to look at our freezer that has been making way more noise than it should be making. He took it out to the garage and took it apart. He found the part that was broken and went to a parts house to pick it up. The man at the counter was an older man and Dick asked him if he remember the Jarrell Company where Dick’s uncles and his mom worked. He said yes and gave Dick the part for Free Ninety Free! Dick was doubly pleased and now I can’t wait to get the part back on the freezer and have it work quieter. Hope you have had a good week and I’ll catch you later.
