Ultra Sound Results for Grandbaby #6

Tuesday, January 31, 2012

Monday was the day of Becky's 20 week Ultra sound when they could tell if Grandbaby Number Six was going to be a girl or a boy. We were all excited to find out. I couldn't resist getting a new outfit for a Baby Girl and a Baby Boy.

Everyone had made their guesses which they thought it was going to be.

Becky baked a cake and made the inside PINK! We are getting another sweet little baby GIRL and we couldn't be Happier! Congratulations Ricky and Becky. Brooklyn and Addison, you are the luckiest girls I know to get a baby Sister!

Guess what? Our Oldest Granddaughter, Miss Brooklyn turned FIVE years old this week? Dick and I were able to attend her 5th Birthday Party. That makes 100% attendance at ALL 5 Birthdays. We were there when she was born, just outside anyway, and then each of the other wonderful days as well. She is a delightful little girl and was so cute with her eight little girl friends who came to a very FANCY Party. They came dressed in their finest and got to make a necklace, have their fingernails painted and their make up done. What fun it was to get to read Fancy Nancy to these little ladies all dressed up in my finest too. We had such a good time. Thank you for inviting me Brookie Cookie! I love you so very much! Another favorite part of Brooklyn birthday was the fact that we got to drive our Kinsley Kate there. Her brothers were not feeling well and so she road with Dick and I. What a delightful time we had driving Miss Kinsley. She is so much fun and we loved having her with us.

Guess What? Tatia ran her 2nd Half Marathon early Saturday morning and she is still alive and smiling. She was wishing she was close enough to come jump into my nice hot whirlpool bathtub as she said ever muscle in her body was feeling the adventure. She and three other Med School Wives had this crazy idea a few months ago and have been training together. She is glad she did it and is even Gladder, is that a word? And is glad it’s done. Prior to Saturdays race, she did some remarkable redecorating to her kitchen and living room. It’s amazing how adding one touch of a new color can give you a whole new feel. She made a new accent pillow, a darling table runner, and two very fun pennant banners to hang on each side of the room. You will not believe how cute it turned out. I love it Tatia! Miss Penny was a great helper too.

Guess What? Miss Keelie is turning into an artist! She is very talented and loves to draw and has even discovered a new way to display her art work. You’ll have to take a peek at the recent picture she drew and notice the new technique. I don’t know why I didn’t think of that years ago before purchasing all those fancy tips of hooks and hanging things. Keelie, you are amazing! Our Callum is getting much more mobile which is a good except when at church and you can get from under your parents bench to the one behind you quick as a bunny rabbit. It might have been the cheerios that were left behind from a former church attendee that enticed him. Callum is allergic to cheerios and so it took some quick grabbing of him to save him some bad tummy aches. What fun!

Guess What? We got a DARLING Happy New Year card this week from the Brinkerhoff Family. I LOVED the picture of their whole family, minus Sister Missionary Katie. Stacy, you do terrific work and even manage to sneak into the photo. I LOVED the side with your darling parents and their very cute grandchildren. What an amazing eye you have behind the camera. I have a feeling Pierce may have had a little something to do with getting all those cute kids to SMILE so big. He is a great assistant to have on hand. Saturday my dad and my brother Ric left for an adventure to California. I don’t know for sure, but I have a feeling it involves a car of some sort. I’m just crossing my fingers that they may have a minute to call the LA Thiot’s and say hello. That would make me happy!

Guess What? Tomorrow marks the one month anniversary of Skyler and Kara. Every time I think of that wonderful day a smile jumps onto my face. Something interesting I learned, Brother Lauritzen was the Temple Sealer who sealed Skyler and Kara on their special day. On Friday they announced that he was being given emeritus status as a temple sealer. He has served for many many years and also serves as our Stake Patriarch. He and his wife are two of my favorite people. Skyler and Kara were one of the last couples he was blessed to seal. How lucky we were to have his sweetness in that ceremony. I will miss seeing him in the temple on Fridays.

Guess What? This was another great week in Plano, Texas. Remember how last week was PaRtY week? This week seemed to continue in the same flavor of being a PaRtY week. We loved getting to celebrate with Brooklyn on her real day on Friday by going to dinner at Chuy’s. Her favorite Mexican restaurant. Becky’s grandma Gloria is in town and it was sure fun to have dinner with her too. After dinner, Ricky, Becky, Grandma Gloria and Becky’s brother Matthew and his wife Hailey all went to the RODEO. I love how Brooklyn pronounces ROdeO. They all had a fun evening. I was sad I was too tired to go along. Friday mornings start EARLY. After the birthday party on Saturday. Grandma Gloria and I got to tend the girls while Ricky, Becky, and Dick went car shopping. With their family growing, they’ve been looking for a bigger car and found just what they were hoping for. Congratulations Mansfield Thiots! I hope you have all had an extra nice week, and Guess What? I LOVE Ya’ll! SLY Robynn

What a PaRtY Week it was!

The week before your birthday is always an exciting one. Brooklyn will turn five years old on Friday of this week. I can hardly believe that she can possibly be that old. It doesn’t seem like long ago when that tiny girl joined our Thiot Family. She has been a delight. Last year after her amazing Dinosaur birthday party, she decided that she was going to have a Hearts and Roses party. She loves both things and I’m sure she will have a very fun party. Her great grandmother Gigi will be coming from San Francisco to be at her party. What fun that will be to get to have her in town for a visit.

Every four days, Jake has an “On Call” day. What that means is that he reports to duty at the Dallas VA Hospital at 6:00 am. He leaves home at 5:00 to arrive safely on time. He is on duty until the following day in the afternoon. Some times, he will get a 2 hour nap someplace in the mix and sometimes you just keep working straight on through the 30+ hours. Just when he gets back caught up on his sleep, it’s day four again and time to do it all over again. Go Jake! Tatia is preparing for her 2nd ½ Marithon which she will run next Saturday morning at White Rock Lake. She has three girls in her neighborhood that she is running with and she is looking forward to it. She did great with her first one on New Years Eve. She loved running with Team Thiot, aka Charlie, Pierce, Mackenzie and Stacy. Run Tatia Run!

Last Sunday was Callum’s first birthday and to continue the celebrating, on Monday his cute family took him to the Sacramento Zoo for a very fun day. Keelie was excited to go to the zoo and celebrate with her best friend and favorite brother Callum Jay. One of my favorite things about Keelie is how she loves to look at the moon. Almost every night when I see the moon, I think of Keelie and wonder if she too has seen the moon and if she loved the finger nail moon we had this week. I think when Tatia was all the way in Argentina, is when I realized that where ever she was, even though we were far apart, we could see the same moon every night and feel close to eachother. I think that is the very same reason that I love to look at the moon and think of my Keelie.

I had a fun thing this week. I went upstairs to put some of Sky’s shoes in his closet that I had found in the garage, and there was Stacy’s darling dress that she had worn to Sky and Kara’s wedding. At first I just wanted to pretend that they were still at my house and keep it, but decided I had better mail it back to her. It was fun pretending for a few minutes. Thanks for leaving a little piece of yourself here Stacy. Pierce has been doing some design work for our brand new Boy Scout District, the Golden Arrow District in Plano, Texas. He did a super job and maybe I can show you a picture of his good work on the blog. It’s sure fun to have five talented kids that can help us out on so many projects. Thanks for sharing your skills Thiot kids.

Sky and Kara celebrated their 3rd week of marriage this week. Cute Lani and her friend had two extra tickets to the Sundance Film Festival and invited Sky and Kara to come along. They had a great time and Lani had invited them to have a sleep over at her home afterwards. She spoiled them with a delicious breakfast on Saturday morning before they headed home to catch up on homework and school work. Thanks Lani for your kind ways. Sky is still looking for somebody to buy his housing contract. If you know of anybody looking for a fun apartment to live in until the end of April, contact Sky. You would make him a very happy man.

I told Dick this morning if I had to think of a name for this week, it would have to be a PaRtY Week. Let’s start with Monday, it was family night which is pretty much always a PaRtY, then on Wednesday, Tatia and Penny and I had a very fun visit at Cousin Pamela’s with her darling boys. Her little boys adore Penny and she them. They brought out all their baby toys and shared with her and even let her take two fun things home with her. Then in the evening I had Primary Presidency Meeting which is closely related to a PaRtY, on Thursday morning I got to help a friend make a baby quilt for her first grandchild and I was invited to a Willow Products PaRtY, with lots of pretty things to look at, on Friday we were invited to Sister Richmond’s 80th Birthday PaRtY. She is soooooo cute and soooooooo young for 80. I loved being there. On Saturday I went to a Bridal Shower for darling Kristin who is getting married in March and then Dick had his Priests quorum over for fun and games (PaRtY) prior to the stake Laurel and Priest Actiivty. Can you now get an idea of why this was a PaRtY week. I’m exhausted from so much fun. I hope your week was a PaRtY too. Have a wonderful upcoming week.

Today is my first grandson's very first birthday and I wanted to be the first to wish him a happy day. Since he is in California and I'm not, I thought a smilebox might be a fun way to do that. I LOVED looking at all the pictures that I have of Callum and got to pick 24 of my favorites to share. I can't believe he is already one year old. I had a very sweet and sacred experience that happened the day before our sweet Callum was born. I was at the temple and had a few minutes before prayer meeting started. I went into the children's waiting room and sat in the nice comfy glider in there and had the rare and so special blessing of rocking my Callum even before he was born. I know his sweet little spirit was there in the temple with me and I got to love him and tell him how much I love him. Each time I've seen Callum during this first year has been wonderful. Oh how I love that little boy. That early Friday morning in the temple will forever be a choice memory of time spent with him. I love you Callum Jay!

Happy New Year Ya'll!

This week in Mansfield had a great start. Our Carmichael Thiot’s went home with them on Sunday night and got to spend all day Monday with them before departing for home early Tuesday morning. They packed a lot of fun in those 24 hours that is for sure. They went to the Dallas aquarium at fair park and loved meeting all the fish and feeding the sting rays, then they were off to Cow Town in Fort Worth and arrived just in time to see the cattle drive come in. Oh what a thrill that was. Brooklyn and Addison couldn’t believe how wonderful it was to have cousins have a sleep over. They loved having Keelie and Callum with them and have missed them ever since they left. Ricky traveled to Austin, San Antonio and Houston this week. What a busy guy he was. Becky and the girls were home taking care of a nasty cold that moved into their home. Lots of tissues and nose wiping parties are being had. We love you Mansfield Thiot’s!

Little Miss Penny Elaine turned 8 months old to begin this week. It’s interesting how fast 8 months go by. In some ways, I can’t even remember not having Miss Penny in our family. She is a dear little woman who I adore. Tatia and Penny came on a sleep over on Friday night. Jake was having an all nighter at the VA Hospital on call. While he was busy working, we were busy playing. We got to watch Dolphin Tails, a movie I would recommend highly. Then Saturday morning we woke up and started undoing Christmas. Tatia was a wonderful helper as was Miss Penny. I must admit that Penny was the most helpful during her nice morning nap. We got everything taken down and mostly packed into their totes and brought out some fun Valentines things and are looking quite festive once again. Thank you Tatia and Penny for all your good work.

When I opened my e-mail this morning, there were two pictures of my Keelie flying a kite. Some of my happiest memories of being a young mom were of watching my kids fly kites. When I saw Keelie with her kite, it brought those memories flooding right home to me. I’ve always loved kites and love to watch them and from the look on Keelie’s face, she shares that love too. It was so wonderful to have the Carmichael Thiot’s in Texas with us. I think it made me realize how much I miss them when they are at home. We packed lots of fun into our few days together and I’m so glad to have those sweet memories. One week from today, our sweet Callum will celebrate his One Year Old Birthday. I LOVED getting acquainted better with Callum. He is just as sweet and dear as he looks in his pictures. We miss you Carmichael Thiot’s

Pierce and Stacy’s return trip home on Tuesday morning got off to a bumpy start when the computer system at Virgin America went down. They were not allowed to check in and the flight left without them. Fortunately, there was an afternoon flight they were able to get onto and they arrived home several hours later than they were expecting but arrived safely. Happy Day. It was sure fun to have them in town. We got to see them several times and enjoyed having them for a sleep over several nights too. Stacy was busy with her photography business while in town. I think she had 7 or 8 appointments while here. She has a great eye looking into a camera. We miss your L.A. Thiot’s too.

Skyler sent an e-mail reporting this week that this has been the very best week of his LIFE! Nothing could have made me any happier. They left early Monday morning, on two separate flight back to Utah. Kara left first and waited for Sky to join her in Salt Lake. Then a dear friend picked them up and shuttled them back to school with all their bags and boxes. Perhaps there should be a rule that when you get married away from home, all gifts should be able to fit in a small envelope. It’s going to be a little tricky to get everything to them, but fun. Several gifts had arrived at our house after they left and last night on Face Time, we got to open them together. Very fun to share in that fun. We miss our Provo Thiot’s but are glad you are getting settled in and doing well.

What a week it’s been just remembering all the happy and good times from last Weekender. Weddings are Wonderful and when they are shared with Christmas time too, almost Magical, and a tiny bit crazy. I loved every minute and am looking forward to a great 2012. Happy New Year Ya’ll, SLY Robynn

Sky & Kara's Wonderful Wedding Day

Wednesday, January 04, 2012

This past weekend was one that I will never forget. I hope my brain can remember every single detail as it was truly magical. These pictures will give you a tiny idea of how beautiful the day was. Thank you to my favorite photographers, Stacy, Jake and Laurie.
