Hello friends and family. Another month is rolling on. We had quite the week around here with some crazy weather and we received some good rain Friday and Saturday. While we have been in a drought for several years and it isn't over, the rain has certainly helped with our reservoir levels. Lake Lavon has gone from 17 feet below normal to less than 10 feet below normal in just the last couple of weeks. I heard this has been the 2nd wettest January on record.
We have had some great experiences in the last couple of weeks. Mom and I got to attend the BYU Management Society Executive Board and Advisory Council dinner on Friday night down at Eddie Dean's Ranch. The speaker with Ned Hill, Dean of the Marriott School of Management at BYU. He gave a very interesting talk. However, I was also able to attend the BYU Management Society luncheon that afternoon. Bro Hill spoke about Ethics in Business and how we teach that to our students. I found that extremely intersting. I think that Bro Hill is a great person to be Dean of that school.
Skyler spent time with his new friend, Skyler from Lewisville. I think they certainly had a good time at our Bi-Ward Social that was held with the 5th Ward.
This weekend while mom was at Visiting Teaching Conferences Skyler and I finally arranged the upstairs so that it is clean with the new HDTV. It doesn't seemed so squished now.
I had a lot of meetings today. We are into our Ward Conference season. We had 1st Ward last week, 3rd Ward today and 4th Ward next Sunday. I don't have to speak until 5th Ward though so I get to hear all of the other members of the Stake Young Men's Presidency speak first. We also went to our Stake YM/YW Presidency meeting with President Willardson of our Stake Presidency then had our monthly Stake Youth Committee meeting. Following that we had another Stake YM & YW presidency meeting to work on our Youth Conference plans. It is starting to come together. From there I headed back to our church to go to a meeting that the Bishop had called for all the parents of youth. He showed us a video that he plans on showing next Sunday at the standards night Fireside. It is a very frank discussion of sex but also how that is reserved by Heavenly Father for the bounds of marriage. The lady that gave the talk on the video is a psychologist and has worked with teens. She had some pretty incredible insights. Early on she pointed out that sex outside of the bounds Heavenly Father sets only leaves you with bad consequences and choices. It reminded me of what President Hinckley taught in his New Year's Eve Fireside. He said that you can be smart and happy or you can be stupid and miserable. I know I have learned a lot of things in my life but I like the way President Hinckley put that simple truth. The older I get the more I appreciate that point of view.
I hope each one of you has a great week. Everyone keep making good, smart choices so that we can be happy. I love y'all.

WOW! It was so great having most of our family here for the holidays. Thanks everyone. Pierce, we really missed you but look forward to a time when we can all be together.
Everyone is back home now (at least where they will be for the next 4 months or so) and everything is getting back to the old grind. I am sorry I am so swamped with work now but work is good.
Tatia, have fun in Washington, D.C. Charlie and Kenzie, y'all have fun in Sacremento. Ricky and Becky, we are looking forward to when Brooklyn arrives. Skyler, let's knuckle down and get that school work done. It's your last semester of high school. By the way, Skyler submitted his application to the BYU school system today. Hooray! We will let you know when we hear anything. Keep Skyler in your prayers.
