To end our summer on a good note...we headed down to Galveston to enjoy the sand and water. But sadly.....as can see from the pictures the kids just did not enjoy the sun, sand and water. Bless their hearts maybe next year.....
With hurricanne Ike last September I was afraid it would not be the same. But I have to say....it looked great. Granted there were some abandoned buildings, hotels and houses that have never been rebuild....but all in all it was back to normal. And packed!
....Well maybe next year they will enjoy the beach.....poor things just did not enjoy it.....
Cody just finished up 2 weeks of swim lessons and is on his way to becoming a little fish. (Although he has much more confidence then his skill level!) We have never allowed him to go down the slide before just for total selfish reasons....I knew that I would have to get in and catch him. ....and I knew he would want to do it over and over and over and over and over again. And I was right! But, he loved it!!!!
His face would barley be out of the water and he would say 'one more time'....and that is what we did....over and over and over and over again!
Our weekend trip to Broken Bow ....... This has gone down into the books as one of the best weekend ever....no theme parks, no crowds, no hurrying around...just good company, good kids (there were 7 total so that says a lot), good food and more laughs then I can tell you about. Good times... here is what the weekend consisted of...
We drove up to our amazing cabin nestled back in the woods.....
I bought 200 water balloons, so the girls spent several hours filling them up.
...and it took 5 minutes for the water balloon fight! ...grilled out both nights. Fajitas the first night and steaks the next. We did cut cost a little and didn't buy the 'best' steaks for the kids.....we now know if you pay $7 for 4 steaks they may not be the best. Ours on the other hand were delicious! mmmmm
....goofed off a lot!......relaxed a ton! ...hunted for one of a kind rocks!....had more water fights. Cody loves being on this end of the hose!..... hung out with cousins!
....thought I got the best group picture of the kids....then realized Cody was not in it!
....swam in the hot tub! ....goofed off in the hot tub!
....set the timer on the camera and got the WHOLE crew!
.....found a small stream...it had to be the coldest water I have ever been in, but it didn't slow the kids down.
....loving the water.
....one happy little boy....put frogs on the smallest child there....sorry Cody! ...caught crawdads!
...more hot tubing! ...caught fireflies!
...smiled a lot! (the best part)
.....all the kids! The adults were WAY out numbered!!!!
....all the cousins!....jumping for joy.....except Cody! :).....look at this view. God's little gift to us .....just amazing!
Looking forward to going back! So much fun!!!!!!!!!!!
