Dirty Feet

I took the kids to the elementary school close to our house to play on the equipment. It is supposed to be 70 today. Thank Goodness they wore their sweatshirts, cause it was crazy windy. Where's my hair bonnet when I need it?

I failed to realize that the ground was mud. I, being stupid, wore sandals. Me, being smart, put the kids in their tennis shoes. You see what happened to my sandals?

My foot...after "drying" it in mulch.
Jasper still had a good time
As did Jonah
And Izzy

Mystery

Hmmm? Looks like one of Jonah's siblings tried to tie something around his neck. Just for clarification, neither I nor Isabel were home. That leaves Jasper. Awww, sibling love.

The advantage of having older cousins

Is that you get hand me downs! I love it. I feel like it is Christmas time. My in-laws came down for a visit because my sister in law, Rachel, & her husband Matt had their first (and only, I'm pretty sure) baby together. I'll post separately on that. The hospital they were at is about an hour from us. So, Grandma & Grandpa decided to visit & bring LOTS & LOTS of clothes & shoes. My living room is still a complete wreck. But, it is so fun to go thru all the stuff.

Among the midst of merch, the kids found Hannah's old tap shoes. There were 3 pairs...perfect! Jasper found a NEMO bathing suit that he liked. Keep in mind, it was exciting for them to look thru the stuff as well. And he may hate me when he gets 16 & sees these pictures. But for now, he is my 3 1/2 little boy who likes to explore. The kids are still having a blast with the tap shoes.

Here is the NEMO bathing suit, accompanied by his camo socks, football undies & tap shoes. Iz has on one of Hannah's old leotards & tap shoes & Jonah has the tap shoes.

Bunny Boys

We went to the mall last night for my niece's birthday and ended up having an impromptu photos session with the Easter Bunny. We weren't planning this, so it isn't like the kids are in their Sunday best. Oh, and Isabel is missing. She wouldn't get up there with the bunny. Oh, and check out Jasper's smile. This is his latest. Apparently with school pictures a couple of weeks ago, this was his smile as well.

My daughter

Is beautiful, of course. However, she is tiring her mama (and I'm pretty sure her daddy) out. Let me start by saying this... I'm fearful of a lot of things. I always have been. Everyone knows that spiders are probably number one! I'm not in to trying new things. Was always scared of roller coasters. Was scared of fishing because of the dragon flies that fly by. You get the gist.

It seems I have a mini-me. However, I believe she is a little bit worse. This girl is scared of everything! I so do not want her to be like me. I want her to believe in herself & try things. She is scared of bugs. I can't fault her on that. But I wish she wouldn't be. Noises terrify her. That brings me to this; trains! Stupid *expletive* trains! I seriously cant think of where the nearest train track to us is. But, you can hear the whistle in the faint distance. EVERY night, we go thru the same thing. The train whistle will blow & Isabel screams bloody murder & cries. And this freaking train runs all night. We go in there time & time again to tell her to calm down, the train is far away & it is just the horn. It will not get her...we will not let it, and so on & so on.

I swear I think her room is haunted. Well, her bed. We went thru a phase of dinosaurs. They were on her bed trying to bite her arm. She would stand in the middle of her room & look at one certain spot on the bed, like it was really there. Once it was a purple bunny who was standing on the train waving at her. I am beginning to wonder if she drops acid before she goes to sleep :) She will try to get out of sleeping some way or another.

Last night, Nate & I were going to bed around midnight. As I walked back to our bedroom, I noticed her door was wide open. We leave it cracked, but this was open. She wasn't in her bed. I ran down the hallway & said, "Nate, Iz isn't in her room!" He said, "Shut up." We went back there & she wasn't in it. We walked out in to the living room & there she was laying. She was on the couch....awake. Two more times last night, I had to get up because she was screaming about the train. My sister had a good suggestion; put a fan in her room to help drown out the noise. Of course, I would then have a problem with Jonah obsessing over it! I may try that & take the fan out in the morning before he can get to it. Crazy kids.

Bowl For Kids Sake

My sister is the Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Does this make her tough crap? You better believe it! :)

They had their annual "Bowl For Kids Sake" event on Saturday. My kids, her kids & our mom & step-dad participated. This was the first time my kiddos have ever bowled. I knew as soon as we walked in that Jasper was going to dig it. The tunes were blaring & he strutted his stuff...stopping a few times to add some dance moves. That's how he rolls. He acted like he was the pimp daddy of the bowling alley. Of course, Jonah liked it as well. There were ceiling fans galore! Both boys bowled an entire game. Isabel bowled 2 frames! Yes, 2. She was done after that. She spent the rest of the game sitting with my dad & his girlfriend, eating their food.

Nate & I have decided this is something we would like to get started doing. We live in a small town with nothing to do. The kids, minus Isabel, seemed to really like it. Maybe we can start our own team...The Rockin' Wrights!

Look at that form & that butt! Go mom :)

Duane's got it too! What a pro!

The boys

Are we weird?

It was cute, creepy & hilarious all at the same time.

The kids have these giant Crayon banks. A few nights ago, they were playing with them. Jasper put his arms in them & said he was a robot. Then he sat down & put his legs in them. They fit perfect! He looked so funny! Nate & I were in tears we were laughing so hard.

See...look at Nate's face.
