I'm at the in-laws

We're going on night number 3, here. All is going pretty smooth. I mean, we've had some meltdowns & such, but all in all, a good time. I've eaten lots & lots.....and LOTS! And I'm staying up late. That's nothing new, though. The kids love it here. They get so excited to see Grandma & Grandpa. They are spoiled. They've showed off their dancing skills. And today, Jasper was sitting on Nate's lap & said, "You have a big belly." We laughed. I said, "Does mama have a big belly?" He said, "You BOTH have big bellies." Thanks, Jas. As if we didn't know that already. :) We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal. And I'm headed off to bed. I'm hoping we have a good Internet connection tomorrow so I can upload all these pictures I have had for the past month.

More leaves

If you have read my previous posts regarding Fall, you know it is not my favorite season. Or my dad's. Here is our cheesy fall picture. I think we should make Christmas cards out of it. But I have to say, the day was fun. The kids helped out with blowing leaves.

I have not abandoned my blog

It seems like I used to blog daily. What is going on? Well, the trio are quite feisty & they keep me pretty busy. About 15 loads of laundry a week keeps me busy. Folding 15 loads of laundry keeps me busy & then putting away that folded laundry, 7 days later, keeps me super busy!

I have so many pictures to put up. You know what my problem is with that? I enjoy editing, and that takes a crap load of time. Plus, I've been still working on some pictures for people that I've taken recently.

So for now, here are a few things that have been going on in the Wright house:

TONIGHT, Jasper pooped in the potty! Praise Jesus. It has only taken 3 months, but he did it. He has peed in the pot for those 3 months, but never pooped. He would save that for mama to have to clean up out of his panties. Sorry, underwear. :)

Jonah, well, still nuthin'! Oh, but patience. It will come. I never thought the poop thing with Jas would.

Isabel is still sporting her "Miss Thang" attitude. It's draining. But, she is still my cutie Izzy. That is, after I have a few shots of moonshine. I'm kidding. Please no one take offense.

Lets see...Oh, I got to go to the dentist. Its only been 3 years! Yikes. And I can't believe I had no cavities. I'm also going to be getting a crown (or something like that) on my missing tooth (had to have it removed after it cracked while on hospital bedrest). Soooo, no more photo shopping that baby in. Yea, its gonna be the real deal. Jealous?

Nate has had a bit of a go around. He found a lump on his neck. While at work, he had one of the doctors check it. I guess that is the good thing about being in cancer care. They referred him to a specialist. He went last week & had it biopsied. We actually had a day out of it. His mom came down & watched the kids so I could go. The biopsy was negative. But, they want to have it removed anyway. This is supposed to take place on Jan. 4. This will be Nate's first surgical operation...ever. I guess I'm just so used to them. He's a bit frightened. So keep him in your thoughts, please.

Today while picking up the kids, their teacher says to me:

Her: We painted their feet today...
Me: You saw their painted toes, huh?
Her: Ummm, yes
**Remember folks, I don't discriminate. If my boys would like their toenails painted when Iz gets hers done, than so be it. Hopefully it will be something they remember that was fun.

Me: Am I the coolest mom, or what?
Her: You definitely are one of the craziest! (laughing)

I'm taking that as a compliment.

"Retro" Toys

We went to my in-laws this past weekend. While there, Nate played with some of his old toys. His mom has kept some of he & his sister's things from when they were little. And these things are in awesome shape! Honestly, its like they were never played with. Crap, my Barbie's have chopped hair, real makeup, no shoes & are naked.
**Pictures are bad because I took them with my phone **

Check this out from "Raiders Of The Lost Ark"

This was, by far, my favorite. I had never even heard of these dolls. They were called, "The Sunshine Family". How awesome! They were hippies. At least they looked that way. It was a mama, daddy, two kids & grandma & grandpa. Wanda doesn't know this, but I really really wanted to swipe this & take it home for ME.

Holy Vomit, Batman!

Well, folks...it's been a hell of a week here at the Wright household. Last Wednesday night, Jonah got sick. He puked all night. And when I say all night, I'm dead serious. I slept with him in the living room. About every 30 minutes, he would wake up & puke. I just kept putting him in t-shirts of mine. We had towels sprawled out everywhere. He started feeling better Thursday evening.

Thursday evening, I went with my sister, mom & Aunt to have dinner for my aunts birthday. Before I left, Isabel puked on Nate. Then later, Jasper puked. Needless to say, the kids didn't go to school on Thursday & Friday. Come Friday night, Nate started throwing up. Nate gags...a lot. But, I've never seen him throw up this much. And we've been married for 11 years. I probably did 20 loads of laundry of just puked on clothes, towels, blankets, sheets, mattress pads, etc.

I think they finally all started feeling better. Then it was my turn. I really thought I was going to dodge it. Nah. I got it on Monday. My stomach was killing me & I ended up tossing my cookies for a good while. But nothing prepared us (primarily, Nate) for what was about to come.

Jonah started coughing. He stood up, puked & walked about 4 steps & then repeated that process 3 more times. In the meantime, Isabel started gagging from watching Jonah. Guess what happened? Yep...she threw up. I jumped off the couch & ran to the bathroom & let it go. I've never seen Nate so on his game. He didn't gag. He just yelled, "What is going on!?" And Jasper just stood there. It was like the movie, "Stand By Me."

I'm happy to report that we are hopefully at the tail end of this satanic virus. I've taken both Jasper & Isabel to the doctor this week. Iz was running a temp of 103. They tested her for strep & it was negative. So, we are just letting this thing run its course.

Frolicking Thru Fall

Since Fall is my favorite time of the year, I thought I'd post some pics of the kids frolicking outside. And if you have read my blog before, you should know that I'm joking about Fall being my favorite time of the year. I fall in to the 3% that don't like it. But that doesn't mean my kids can't enjoy it & that mama can't take a million pictures.
I just imagine her saying, "Yippie! What a feeling!"

I almost gagged

The kids (mainly the boys) have had a cough for a few days. Tonight, while laying bed, Jonah vomited. A lot. More than I have seen from any of my kids. I believe I passed the test of being a true mama. I didn't gag. I cleaned him off enough for Nate to put him in the bath without gagging & throwing up himself. Jonah had 3 baths within an hour and a half. After the first bath & bed changing, he acted okay. He wasn't. About 20 minutes later he vomited again. A lot. So, another bed changing & bath later, I think he may have fallen asleep. This has been quite the day. I hope my babies don't get sick anymore. I am running out of bedding :(

Too Much Candy's gonna make ya sick

The kids had a good Halloween. Oh, who am I kidding. Nate & I had a good Halloween...yes, candy! The kids are eating their fair share, though. And they always sing the song from Yo Gabba Gabba Halloween..."Too much candy's gonna make you sick. All that candy's gonna make you so sick." They don't seem to live by that song.
