A Little Embarassing

Mrs. Hicks, the kids' teacher, and I have talked about how funny kids are & how they sometimes say things that make you wonder. For instance, we told her that Jonah & Jasper will sometimes say, "Daddy! Don't get me in my head!" We could be two rooms away from them & they will still say this. It is kinda comical.

Yesterday, Mrs. Hicks walked the to the van after class. I asked, "How were they?" She smiled. I said,"What! What happened?" This is the conversation:

Mrs. H : Well, you know how we've talked about kids saying some of the funniest, weirdest things?

Me: Yes, uh-oh...what did they say?

Mrs. H : Theresa (one of the awesome aides) set her phone down on a table. She had it on vibrate. And someone called it. As soon as it started vibrating on the table, Izzy said, "Mama toot! Mama toot a lot. It's okay though if you say, excuse me."

Maybe I am eating too many Fiber bars?

Potty Mouth

When Isabel is on the toilet, she talks...A LOT. It is comical & frustrating at the same time. I just want her to do her business. Sitting there for 20 minutes while she poops gets tiring. Some things she says:

"The boys don't get out of bed. Don't get out of bed, boys."
"Hey mama, close your eyes."
"I got purple toe nails."
"You hear that?"
"I try again."
"I need to poop again."
"I need to pee again."
"What's that?"
"I not done."
"I brush my teeth."
"We don't do that, it hurts baby."
"I like your toe nails, mama."
"You got purple toe nails?"
"I not going to bed."
"I wipe my butt."

Anytime, Anywhere

This past weekend, our friends & I had a rummage at my house. As the guys were taking things to the Goodwill, Courtaney & I were picking up. We hadn't noticed that Jasper decided to take his diaper off & pee. The only reason he had on a diaper was because he pooped his pants when the guys had all the kids. So, Nate had to put a diaper on him because that is the only thing he had.

Classic

A few weeks ago, mom & Duane brought their convertible over & took the kids for a ride. They loved it!

How many adults does it take to buckle three kids in?

Summer will soon be gone....NOOOOO

Isabel with our neighbor's little green man. He had to sit next to her.
(Notice the broken window? I'm sure you've seen it several times. The duct time has held for about 1 1/2 years or so. Not bad.)
Her dress up skirt was a great holder for her Popsicle

They Are All Mine!

My boys want to party all the time, party all the time, party all the time

And quite frankly, I'm OVER IT!

So how long has this bed transition thing been going on? Too freakin' long.

I'm tired of sitting in their room for nap time until they fall asleep. It is 9:53 pm & I have their door open sitting right here in front of it. This morning, they were running around at 6:10 am. It is getting ridiculous. Mama is tired. And they have got to be tired. Will this end? Don't tell me "when they are out of the house." Nooooooo.

And if you are wondering why I haven't talked about Isabel getting out of bed, it's because she hasn't learned to crawl out of her crib yet. She is in a separate room & I don't think she realizes, yet, that she isn't in a big girl bed. Oh Heaven help me...is that a bad thing?

Mornings can be a bit crazy

A bottle of nail polish that Jasper found on the bathroom counter. And he opened it & poured it out while he & Jonah were brushing their teeth before school. You can get high when you open my bathroom door.

Free Birds

In an earlier post, I think I mentioned how the boys have figured out how to get out of their cribs. I've heard the horror stories. The only person who didn't have difficulty was Ashley. The twins did great transitioning in to big beds. Usually, I trust Ashley's advice & think, "Well, if her kids were okay, mine will be okay." Ash? Mine aren't doing the greatest! :)

Nate's parents bought them all twin beds. But until we get them, we turned their cribs in to the toddler beds. We've re-arranged their rooms. They now have free reign in their rooms with all their toys. Isabel has yet to crawl out...knock on wood. So, I think I'll wait until we get their twin beds.
While Nate was transitioning their beds, the kids decided to use the railing for a ladder. Very safe, I know.

Do you have a hobby?

Every day, real life is most of the time....busy. I wanted to post some things that I enjoying doing. Often, I don't have the time to do these things. Sure, I take hundreds of pictures of my kiddos. But, I also enjoying taking pictures outside of my home. A few weeks ago, Joanna & I spent 12 hours...12 hours, taking pictures. Nate & the kids went up to my in-laws for a birthday party & Sunday is the only day she doesn't work. We decided to make a day of doing what we want.

She came over around 10 am & I did her makeup. I am working on building a portfolio for all of the makeup I do. Since I also love taking pictures, I did that as well. And since she is a confidant, beautiful girl who knows how to strike a pose, she was my model.

We took my mom & Duane's convertible & cruised down the open highway (I wanted it to sound cool) for our locations....the Country. That isn't too hard to find around here.

I love being recognized as a mama who was blessed to have triplets, but it is also nice to be recognized for other things. I posted some of our pictures on the Makeup Artist Forum that I frequent. These ladies are amazing artists! Most of them are very well established in the industry or are working, like me, towards that goal. Here is a comment that made my day...as well as Joanna's.
"OK..so she was NOT a model!! oh my goodness..she issooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo pretty!! and your photography is very very good..do it girl...you NEED multiple streams of income these days. I am proud ofyou..."
So, what are some of your hobbies? Outside of being the best da&@ mama out there? :)

Say what you want

But I love Jonah's long, curly hair. I had to pin it back so he could eat the other day. Nate is hounding me to at least trim it. I will do that...JUST A TRIM.

This one isn't as cute. Jonah hates to take medicine & he was sick.
He basically just spits it out. Very frustrating.

I forgot to mention...

That the boys have learned how to get out of their cribs! I guess I should be thankful that this is just now happening. I've been waiting for this. I've heard the horror stories. I've read about crib tents from other triplet mama's. I'm just going to bite the bullet & move them in to beds. I suppose they can't stay in the cribs forever.

The past few nights we have had to go in several times & lay down the law. They don't ever take me seriously, but they usually do with Nate. We can pretty much tell when they get out. Jonah gives it away. He breathes heavy. You can hear grunting & breathing. And if he gets far enough before we come in, he is in the closet opening & shutting the doors.

And the past 2 mornings we have awaken to Jasper & Jonah in our room, saying loudly, "HI MAMA! HI DADDY!" I need to put a door cover on the inside of their room.

Well I'm a runnin' down the road tryin' to loosen my load

I got 3 babies on my mind
One that wants to hold me,
One that wants to stone me,
One who says "It's all mine!"

I've been MIA for a few days. I really would like to get back to blogging regularly, but lately it's been busy. The kids are growing up & life is hectic. I watched our sweet neighbor's boy for the last 2 weeks. So, I got a little taste of how it would be with 4.

The kids are loving pre-school
I go get a fountain pop everyday to toast my little bit of Independence
Isabel is pretty much fully potty trained. Woohooo Iz!
Jasper is partly potty trained. He wears a diaper to bed.
Jonah is not potty trained one bit. He is okay with that.

Regarding the potty training business; Jasper has yet to poop in the toilet. He does, however, poop in his undies (panties as they refer to them). That is a nice mess to clean up. He usually does pretty good with peeing. We were recently eating at the table & he got this weird look on his face. I said, "Jasper? Do you have to pee? Don't pee in your pants." He acted like all was well. When I got them up out of their seats, his crotch was soaked! I pointed to his shorts & said, "What is that?" He looked at me & said, "Apple Juice." He needs to get better at his lying, because it was soooo obvious. So I pointed to the shorts again & asked, "What is that?" His response was "Apple juice." I was fighting back the laughter. I asked him one last time & his reply was, "panties."

I have random pictures from the last few weeks to post. Oh, and I've lost my voice. No, I can't find it! :) But do you know how hard it is to yell at kids when you have no voice? Impossible! :)
