Kisen Sleeping...Such a beautiful boy!

Kisen Lee....Welcome to the world!

At a little after 2 am this morning, February 25, 2009, Kisen Lee was born in to this world. He shares the same birthday as his mama, Amber. I have another beautiful nephew! He is perfect! He weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz & was a little over 20" long. He has a big ol' head of hair and a set of lungs that may put Jasper & Iz to shame.

This wonderful event was "planned" for tomorrow (Thursday). The C-section was scheduled for 8 am & everyone took the day off work. Little Kisen decided he couldn't wait any longer & decided to join us early. I got the call about 9 pm last night. My mom was so calm & said, "Shannon, Amber's water broke." The next 15 minutes were nothing but chaos as we all called each other to set up what we were going to do.

Nate was here, so I had that covered. Ashley's husband, Aaron, works 2nd shift & wouldn't be home until 11:30 pm. Luckily, one of her friends came over to sit at the house while the kids slept. She & I drove over & dad followed us. The hospital is almost an hour away. Ashley had been up since 4 am yesterday morning & was drinking (coffee) and driving. I had already taken my 2 Tylenol PM, but we made it.

We got to the hospital around 10:15 pm or so. Amber's mom, Mary, her dad Dave & her brother Brandon were there. Brandon had already taken 2 Benadryl before he got the call. Needless to say, we all needed to wake up. Luckily, there was no one in the waiting room but us. And it was a big room. We waited until a little after 1:30 am & Amber was taken back to get prepared for her c-section.

Ash & I didn't get to meet him in person because we both had to get back to our kids who were up a few hours later. I did get to see his picture. I can't wait to see him. We got home about 4:30 am so I'm running on about 3 hours of sleep. But I'm so glad I got to be there for his birth! I love you, Kisen, Lee & Amber!

Before I left, I took a picture of Lee's camera. Look at how beautiful Amber looks. Amazing!

What happened?

To my beautiful sleeper, Jasper? Each morning & nap time, everyone is awakened by Jasper screaming. It's really starting to annoy me. One morning, he was screaming the ABC's. I taped a little bit of it. The video is black because I was outside their door. Oh, and this video is nothing. Do you remember on Dumb & Dumber where Lloyd asks Harry if he wants to hear the most annoying sound in the world? Welp, this is Jasper.

Strawberry Margarita

That is the name of the nail polish I used to paint the kids' toes...YES, boys included. I had never painted Izzy's toes before & Nate was at practice on Friday. We were bored & I decided to give it a try. Jasper sat right next to her & said, "Paint toes, paint toes!" So, I painted his & then Jonah wanted in on it. I told them to sit on the couch & let them dry because they were wet. I would blow on their toes & they would say, "Hot, Hot?"

Isabel's toes
Jasper & Iz after I painted their toes. Isabel didn't move from the couch for probably 40 minutes because she was afraid to smudge them.

Jasper's toes...and my toes in the shot. Notice the white circle...mine are nice & chipped. Ahhh well, it's more fun to paint their toes!

Donut Friday!

My kids LOVE their Uncle Lee's donuts. On Thursday nights, I usually go down to the donut shop late & get them some donuts for Friday morning. When I get them up, I say, "Do you want a donut?" They get all excited. When Jonah goes in to the kitchen and sees his donut, he screams, "Oh My Goodness!" So, here are some pics from this morning's donut session.

This needs to be an advertisement for Lee

Some pictures from today

I LOVE this picture of sweet Jonah. He looks so old in it, though.

I'm starting to think that Jasper may become a nudist.

Parenting Funnies

Joanna & I were talking on the phone this afternoon. We were talking about insurance and deductibles & things. See, we can talk about things that really matter instead of the dilemma we will have over what clothes to wear, or lack there of, when we have our hot bods!

So we were joking about how if one of our kids broke something on their body, we would tape it up & wait until our deductible is met before we take them to the doctor. Again, joking. But, it made us both think of stories from our childhood.

I thought about the time I broke my ankle. I forget how old I was...maybe 6? I was riding on the back of Heidi Huddleston's bike when my foot got caught in the spokes. This must have happened on a Friday. Apparently, I didn't whine or cry much about it. My mom & dad waited until Monday to take me to the doctor because they didn't think I had broken anything. Mom said we went to my Uncle Bill's rodeo & they pulled me around in a wagon with my foot propped. Then on Sunday, she had me wear those black patent shoes to church & I dragged my foot. It's funny to talk about because my mom talks about how bad she felt. She really didn't think I had done anything & she says, "I let you go an entire weekend with a broken ankle!"

Joanna started telling me a story. When she was eight, she had a bike wreck and broke her arm. She lost her glasses in the field after she fell off. Her mom made her find her glasses before they went to the doctor. She said, "I stood in that d&^n field for 4 hours lookin for my glasses, with a broken arm. At least your mama didn't think yours was broke. My mama knew I had broke my arm & still made me find my glasses. My granny kept yelling, Melody Ann...you take her to the doctor. And then she made me take a shower before we went. At least I was clean & could see."

We just laughed and laughed remembering these stories. Will we one day do this to our kiddos? Probably.
