Heya Copic Lovers….
Rachael here for another Scrapping Saturday… today I am going to share with you a layout, which uses Copic Markers to alter my embellishments, making them suit perfectly to the colours in my layout.
From my previous posts you would know that I love to use my Copic Markers on Chipboard. But what I don’t think I have shared with you, is how I make sure that the Copic colour is the coordinating colour for my layout.
I find that different Copic colours react differently with Chipboard. To ensure that I have the right shade or tone of Copic marker, I turn my chipboard over to the back and do a few test spots with a couple of Copic Markers, which I think may match well with other elements in my Layout.
For example in todays layout, I thought that I would like to try and keep my chipboard title ‘Little Man’, quite light. However, through test spots on the back of my chipboard (using B93, B95 & b97), I discovered that the colours B93 & B95 weren’t showing up enough. So I went with B97. I also found out today that this particular chipboard piece was much more absorbent than some of the others I have used previously and so therefore I needed to do a second and third coat on the chipboard to completely cover it. I love that coordinating embellishments for my layouts is so quick and easy.
Since my obsession with Copics began I stopped purchasing coloured ribbons and flowers etc., and now purchase them in white and alter them using my Copics. Its great to see some of the effects that you can achieve.
Well enough chit chat from me here this morning … here is my layout.
Copics Used:
Chipboard – B97
Ribbon – B93
Happy, creative weekend
