Saturday 9/18

Cora and I had a busy day planned.  She had a birthday party at a new friend's house that morning.  She had a blast and there was another little girl from her class there.

After the party, we came home to greet all her friends from her old school.  Brooklynn, Noah, Connor, Karina, Keelie, Isaac and Lauren came to play for the afternoon.  It was fun for everyone despite the rain outside.  There were plenty of toys, snacks and crafts to keep them busy and let us Moms visit some.

Bathtime

After the parade we worked on painting the baby's room, Cora's room and the girls' bathroom.  By bedtime we weren't done, so Cora got to take a bath in our big bathtub.  The jets freaked her out at first, but she liked it after a minute.  She was ready to take her bath in there the next night too!
When she sleeps, she sleeps hard!  Taking this picture didn't even phase her.

Pearland Little League All Stars Parade

The Pearland Little League All Stars making it to the World Series was pretty awesome, so we wanted to go out and show our support for the guys.  Sept 11th we headed to the parade.  It was hot and luckily for me it was short.  We ran into the Hoppens & DeBorde families.

Even Raider came along.
A tootsie pop for the ride home - which is surprising since Dennis hates sticky and it was in his truck!

Trying to come back!

Ok, I am going to try this again...especially with the new arrival coming so soon.  I am not sure if I will back track and post the old stuff from this year or not.  We'll see how it goes...I take a lot of pictures and might fill it all back up again!
Looks like Blogger has made a lot of changes, so I am going to have to figure them all out as well.

Sorry

My blog is FULL! I know I need to update, but I am trying to figure out what I am going to do. We have a website now, but I haven't had time to set it up. Ugh.
I'll set up a link on here and keep everyone posted when I get it done!
Thank you for your patience.

Final Gymnastics Class

Cora has been going to gymnastics at The Little Gym in Friendswood for the past year. We have really enjoyed it, but we were missing too many classes so I decided to not enroll for this year and put her in some classes at her school instead. She had a couple of girls from her daycare in her class with her and they are in one of the classes at school. The gym was bought out by a family and Cora's teacher changed mid semester. It was really hard for Cora to get used to the new teacher, but she warmed up to her at the very end. Of course when I decided to not keep going she started doing really well in the class! She would follow directions and do all the moves by herself.

This is part of the opening circle with her teacher, Carly and her friend, Karina.
Warm up - running in a circle. Except for the last two classes I always had to hold her hand during this part.

Getting ready for a forward roll.
Doing a donkey kick.

Doing a roll over her pole.

The little girl behind her looks miffed because Cora totally cut in front of her - mainly because Karina is one of her friends from school.

She did well on this even though it was higher than she was used to.

She walked all the way across with no problems!

This made me nervous because she always swings and then drops down and I wasn't sure she realized how high she really was!

She always did well on the balance beam. She learned to kick and 'dip her foot in the pool' while walking across. She never let go of me though.

My little monkey

She does like to show off!
Her favorite is swinging from the bars and then dropping down on the cushy mat.

I was impressed she did this - she was jumping to the teacher.

Getting bubbles on their feet

Sitting on her yellow dot and following directions

Ta-da! Getting her ribbon. She wouldn't put both arms up for some reason.

I have put her in a tumbling class and a dance class at her school to keep her active and limber. Once she gets a little older I will probably put her in dance or gymnastics at one of the places near the house. I just hate that I won't get to see her doing it each week (only online when I remember to look!)

Portraits

Kristan always wants me to take pictures of her kids when they come and the last two years it has fallen around Daniel's birthday so we do it for his birthday pictures. I got some of Cora while the other two were getting ready and I was actually getting the lighting and settings ready on my camera and she is a great subject and used to me taking pictures. We did them in the morning and I had barely gotten her dressed, so her hair was done yet - just brushed. I would love to leave her hair down all the time, but it gets in her face too much. And after seeing the pictures she looks too grown up!
