7 Weeks
Sorry that I have not posted in a week or so. Hannah is keeping me quite busy. Here are some pictures that we took of her yesterday. She is really starting to get a personality. She smiled and laughed with Chris which we tried to capture on camera.
On another note. We will be moving to a new website soon. I am working on it but it is not finished yet. This will be a private website for only friends and family. We have decided that this will be a safer way to share about Hannah. If you keep up with us through this blog email me and I will send you an email with our new website address when it is ready. You can email me at acwinklepleck@sbcglobal.net. We hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving.

Video
Here is a clip of Hannah I took on my camera. I finally had a few minutes to figure out how to do it. Things are going pretty well. We went to the pediatrician last week and Hannah weighs 7 pounds 6 ounces. We do think that Hannah has colic. This makes for quite an interesting evening trying to figure out how to make her quit crying. We are trying Zantac that the pediatrician prescribed and Gripe Water. We also have found other ways to soothe her....the heater in the bathroom, laying on the dryer, or holding her sideways with a swinging motion. Hopefully this will not last too long.
Enjoy the video of sweet Hannah. Will try to do some more later. Maybe Chris will break down and get me a video camera. :)

Going to Church
Today we took Hannah to church. Daddy was greatly missed. We were able to stay for most of Sunday School but did have to leave during the service after Hannah got pretty fussy. I was not sure how sound proof the cry room was so we just headed home. Hard to hear Bro. Stan over a crying baby anyway.
We will try again next week. Just a few more weeks and she will be old enough to go to the nursery.
One more week with Gram and then Aunt Lindsay will be here to see us. We can't wait!!

Here are some new pictures of Hannah. I can't figure out how to get these pictures turned so sorry that they are sidways.
Hannah is getting bigger everyday. Our challenge for this week is to get Hannah to take a bottle. I have to be away from her for a few hours next week so I need for my mom to be able to feed her. Hopefully by Monday she will get the hang of it.
Thanks to all my friends for giving me their words of wisdom!!!

3 Weeks Old
I can not believe that Hannah is 3 weeks old today. The time is already flying by.
Hannah learned to use a pacifier yesterday. We finally found one that she half way likes. It is a Soothie. Stinks that we have 3 brands in the cabinet that she does not like. Maybe later she will grow to like them.
Today she will get her first real bath since her cord fell off. She has the cutest belly button. Will try to take pictures and post later today.

Learning to Improvise
I have found that if I want to take a shower or have a few minutes to myself, I can put Hannah in her seat and place her in the bathroom under the heater. She relaxes and usually goes to sleep. She is actually there right now. I did not want to move her and risk waking her up.
We are looking forward to Gram getting here Saturday. I know she can't wait to get her hands on Hannah.
Saturday is our Sunday School Halloween Party. I am hoping that we can go if Hannah is having a good day. We are thinking about being a Mail Carrier and Hannah being a stamp or maybe she can be a package with a MS address. Grandparents would love that!! Just mail her home. :)

First Photo Session
We had our first photo session on Friday. Our great neighbors Jessica and Julia came over and took pictures of Hannah. It was so much fun and we have learned that Hannah likes to be on her tummy for a little bit. I can't wait to see the rest of the pictures that were taken. Jessica has been the best help!! I do not know what we would do without her. Thank you!!!
Hannah was 2 weeks old on Friday and she is just wonderful. We went to the pediatrician and she weighs 6 pounds 3 ounces. She is one ounce away from her birth weight. The pediatrician says she is doing great and we will go back in 2 weeks.

One Week
Hannah turned one week old on Friday. Here is a picture that I took of her today after her bath. She is just so cute and we are having a lot of fun with her. She sleeps really well at night which has been quite nice. Of course, we are getting up every 2 hours to eat but she goes right back to sleep when she is done. Tomorrow we are going to go to Sweetwater to see my friends at the hospital. I can't wait to show her off.

Bath Time
Hannah had her first bath today. Her daddy did a great job! She really enjoyed getting her hair washed but after that she screamed her head off. She then had her first "blow out" diaper and of course we had just finished getting her dressed. Much baby fun. She is now asleep and we are resting. Tomorrow she will go see Dr. Wiley.

HANNAH LYLE WINKLEPLECK HAS ARRIVED!
Still Waiting
Nothing developed yesterday. My contractions settled down by the afternoon so I cooked dinner and invited friends over. What else is there to do? Guess we will see how things go today. We will continue to keep you posted.

Contractions
Well I woke up this morning with contractions. We had an appointment with our doctor and he sent us to the hospital. They are out of rooms so we have been sent home to wait it out for the afternoon. So far they are about 5 or so minutes apart but are not very painful. We will keep everyone posted. Maybe Hannah wants to come today.

Ranch Rodeo
My friend sent me these pictures from this past weekend. We went out to a Ranch Rodeo to see a couple of our friends participate in some of the events. The guys are checking out the action. Maybe they are considering getting a team together. :) The girls just visited but we did watch our friends when it was their turn.

Nesting
People have talked about the "nesting stage" and I didn't think I was going to go through that until this week. Being at home has really made me want to get everything ready and finished in case Hannah gets here early. Between resting, I have washed the newborn clothes and all the blankets and burp cloths. Yesterday I put the base and car seat in the car and then that afternoon got bottles and pacifiers ready and in the cabinet.
We received our swing/infant seat/toddler rocker from our good friend, Mrs. Melinda. The swing I picked out converts to an infant seat and then later to a toddler rocker. The infant seat just lifts off the swing base and you can move it around where ever you need it to be. I am hoping that Hannah will like it.

Today we went to see Dr. Kroeger for a follow-up after our time in Labor and Delivery Tuesday. My blood pressures were all good and my lab work came back with no signs of problems. I will go back and have another sonogram on Monday and back to see Dr. Kroeger. Looks like we are going to get really chummy with these doctors here at the end!!

Last Shower
My friends gave me a great shower last night. It was a lot of fun and Hannah is just about set with all she needs. I think we just have a few odds and ends to get before she arrives.
Today we went to see Dr. Mayberry for another sonogram. He estimates Hannah to weigh 6lbs 6ozs and 18-19 inches long. He thought that her lungs and heart all looked really good.
My blood pressure did crazy things when we went over to see Dr. Kroeger so that won us a free ticket to Labor and Delivery for observation. I had perfect blood pressures there so they sent me home on moderate bed rest. I will go back to the doctor on Friday. We will keep you posted. Miss Hannah may make an early appearance.

Hospital Shower
My wonderful co-workers gave me a really nice shower and going away party on Wednesday. Chris and I got a lot of cute outfits for Hannah (and Chris was worried that she would have nothing to wear). We also got many necessity items--washcloths, hooded towels, toys. etc.
I have spent most of the weekend trying to get the newborn clothes washed and put away. Two friends came over Saturday night and helped me get organized so I am feeling a little more ready.
We go to the doctor on Tuesday and hopefully he can give us some insight on when Hannah will make her grand arrival.

First Baby Shower
My friend Hartley, along with the help of Sarah and Amanda, gave me a great baby shower this weekend. We had lots of fun and I got some great stuff for Hannah.
Hartley thought it would be fun for the girls to put pillows under their shirt so I would feel more comfortable. :) They looked really good!
Thanks girls for lots of fun!!

Hannah Update
I went to see my OB doctor on Tuesday. He measured my belly and it had not grown any since my last appointment. He sent me to see Dr. Mayberry, a Perinatologist, today. Dr. Mayberry says that Hannah weighs approximately 5lbs 3oz. and he did not see any problems with her growth and development. Chris and I were both very relieved and it is always fun to get a sonogram and see her moving around. We even got to see a good shot of her face which looked really cute. :) It appears we are to the countdown. I am looking forward to several showers that are scheduled for the next few weeks. Chris and I also start birthing classes a week from today. I think it is going to be a busy September and Hannah will be here soon.

The Recliner Arrived!
Flood 2007
Well we survived the Abilene flood of 2007. Our neighborhood flooded in 2002 so everyone was a little worried that it was going to do it again this weekend. After moving furniture and garbage bagging the legs of tables we waited for word to evacuate. We got a call at 1130 on Saturday night to prepare to leave our home as the creeks were beginning to rise. I was not very happy about leaving so Chris stayed up all night watching the news and internet as the water moved through the town. Thankfully, we did not have any water in our neighborhood but other parts of the city were not as fortunate. Although, not many are complaining as the lakes and creeks are full for the first time in a very long time. There is a lake in Sweetwater that has been dry for over 10 years that is now full.

Thanks Gram and Granddaddy!!
Gram and Granddaddy have gotten Hannah her monitor and high chair seat. We will have to wait awhile before Hannah will be able to use her seat but I think she is going to love it when she can. She will be able to sit at the table with the grown-ups!! The seat is great since it reclines so we can use it from infancy through toddler age.
Thanks very much. We can't wait for Hannah to meet her grandparents!!

32 Weeks
On Tuesday we will be at 32 weeks. It is so hard to believe that I am 8 months pregnant. Fortunately, I feel really good and have been able to keep up with most of my activities. Hannah must be growing and getting bigger because she has decided that it is fun to poke her body parts so they stick out of my stomach. It is quite a sight to watch.
We are continuing to get things ready for Hannah. Today I cleaned out a kitchen cabinet so there would be a place for bottles.
Chris worked on Hannah's toy box. It was made by his grandfather, Lyle, before he was born. Chris painted it a light pink color and we plan to decorate the top with her name or initials. My friend Hartley has agreed to help me with that since I am not very artistic.

Thanks Mimi and Pops!
Today we received our stroller and carrier from Chris' parents. I was able to put it together all by myself--(no tools needed). There was only one mishap where for a few moments I misplaced the tray. Unfortunately I thought that it was left out of the box so I will have to explain to Chicco that I have a prego brain and just had put it on the kitchen table and not on the floor with the other parts. After finding it I was able to finish getting it all together. We have both practiced opening and closing the stroller and placing the carrier in and out. We can't wait to put Hannah in her new ride!
