Jackson, Granddaddy, and I went to the Wake County Speedway tonight. Jackson really loved it He even didn't mind the ear plugs we all wore as the cars were very loud. Jackson especially liked all the free candy and gum that was being given away. Jackson also tried to identify the cars as ones he has seen in the movie "Cars" which is his favorite movie.

Goofing around with mommy
Weather didn't cooperate this afternoon and my planned trip to the pool got cancelled. Jack and I decided to have a little camera fun.
And, a little musical treat to make you smile....

Where the Wild Things Are
Monday we went to the zoo with the Joyner girls and had a blast! One of the funniest parts was just the 3 kids excitement over riding in the car together. They were so giggly. (Jen and I really loved all the catching up time, too!)
Claire, Ava & Jack were super excited about the zebras and giraffes. This elephant was REALLY close and stayed there for a long time.
You'll have to read about our funny encounter with a chimpanzee on thier blog. Crazy!!
Neither Jen nor I were able to take too many pics because we both had our camera batteries run out within the first 30 minutes... but, a kind lady shared with us that if you rub batteries against something cold (like a drink), it will give you enough battery power for a few more pictures. And, it worked! I got 7 more pictures out of my dead batteries. Thought I'd share this tip.
The zoo gave out stickers to the kids that read "I belong in the zoo". Jackson has been saying that phrase to me over and over the last 2 days. Like I didn't already know that! :)
National Night Out

Rescue vehicles like police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances score high praise with our little guy. We took him to the National Night Out celebration in our town and he LOVED it. He got to look inside those vehicles and even a police helicopter. He also enjoyed some inflatables, free food, free toys, and he even got to dunk the police chief....

Sunday's lesson at church
After church today I asked Jackson what he learned in his class. He told me their memory verse and a bit about Moses and the burning bush. When I asked him what the burning bush said, he said, "The burning bush said 'Stop talking to me!'".
I teased Miss Lauren that I'll have to start reviewing her lessons before she teaches them! ;)
