little sneaker...

I went upstairs to take a quick shower before running some errands today (hooray for getting out of the house!). Anyway... I thought Handy Manny would captivate Jackson long enough for me to get ready.

I came downstairs to see Jackson set the camera down and run into the kitchen. A sure sign that he was into something he was not supposed to be doing. I pick up the camera and find that he has taken over 20 pictures ... of himself. Amazingly, his eyes weren't dilated from all the flashes!

Here's a sample of my little photographer's work...

It's over

Praise the Lord. Jack's little bug is over. It was a long 2 1/2 weeks.

words and more words...

Isn't it funny how when they are younger you can't wait until they can talk. And then, at one point this catches up and you wonder why you had such problems with the QUIET. :) Jackson has reached the point of toddlerdom of incessant talking and singing. As I type this he is playing at his Thomas table and singing a made up song about Thomas and Gordon. Other songs of choice right now are "Song of the Cebu" (Veggie Tales), "Ring of Fire" (Johnny Cash), ABC's, Happy Birthday, "Rock-a-Bye Bear" (Wiggles) and any of the fun songs he learned while at Camp Willow Run. Jack also desires feedback constantly. For example, I hear "Thomas is blue. Thomas is numer one. See, mommy? See Thomas? Gordon is so fast. Gordon is numer 4. See, mommy? See numer 4?". And on and on. It's actually cute and I should go grab the video camera... one day (when I don't hear it over and over) this will be really adorable. :)

Thanks to all of you who have called/emailed encouragement and prayer for Jack. Yes, he is STILL going through whatever has taken over his intestines. Got back partial results yesterday from the "sample"... it is not a parasite. The nurse announced this to me like it was a good thing... is it? At least that would have given me an answer and we could start treating it. She said it is likely viral... We will hopefully know more when the results from the 2nd culture come back... maybe as late as early next week. He still does not act any differently, which is great. And, I think he's gaining weight back, somehow. Tomorrow marks TWO WEEKS of this.

We got out of the house today...ran to the bank just down the road and went through the drive-thru. When I told Jackson that we needed to go get in the car, he BOLTED to the door. Then, when we pulled back into the driveway after our short trip, he cried..."oh no, mommy. No house. Stay in car." Yeah, I feel it too...

Fun Weekend with Mimi & Granddaddy

Mimi and Granddaddy Pete came this weekend and we had fun, fun, FUN! Jackson gets so excited and wound up when he first sees them - it's precious! They brought Jackson the promised Thomas Table... and he flipped out. Of course. Jack went into performance mode - dancing, singing songs, and talking non-stop.

Jackson continues to battle the intestinal bug. We've been house-bound for a week. But, Saturday's "cold front" was too irrestible! We hit the park and let Jackson try out his new helmet. He flies on that tricycle!

Potty Chronicles - Part 2

So, after a fantastic start... the setbacks began. First, I quickly noticed that the potty seat was way to small for my boy... causing many messy clean-ups. So, after a trip to Walmart and a new seat, we were ready to proceed full throttle. Then came his upset tummy... days and days of it. Let's just say it has not been suitable for potty training. Training pants weren't meant for that kind of thing... just ask my carpet. Ugh!

So, I'm a little bummed about the setbacks. My parents come this weekend and we will go to the beach most of next week... I had hoped to be further along so that continuing at the beach would be less difficult. Oh well.

Gotta go serve up more bananas and toast...

Gone Fishin'

Thursdays are Daddy Days... mommy works and Daddy and Jackson have fun-filled boy-time together. Yesterday, Daddy took Jackson down to one of our neighborhood ponds to go fishing. Jackson got to see turtles and help daddy reel in the line. And they caught 2 small bass! Jackson was so excited! At one point Jack stepped into a little sink hole and was shin deep in mud. Daddy had to pull him out and then hose him off in the backyard when they got home. Mud and fishing... hmmm... sounds like boy stuff to me!
