Jackson is 2 1/2!!

Jack is 2 1/2 years old today. These last 6 months have been such fun times. We have seen less physical growth (let's face it... it was time for that to plateau a bit. He's still so heavy and big!) and more cognitive growth and learning. I love watching him wrap his brain around things - like shadows, leaves turning colors, playing baseball, and how to ride a tricycle. He's doing so well learning the alphabet now. And despite all the growing up, he still loves to sit and snuggle with Mommy and Daddy! We eat this up!
Happy 2 1/2 Birthday, Son!
Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

My buddy, Ty

My mommy watched Ty yesterday and we had the best time!

I taught Ty the "Wiggles" dance!

We practiced so that we can join Mr. Cary and the worship team at church.

my daddy

For Father's Day, I wanted to share just a few reasons why my daddy is the greatest:
5. Wrestling matches on the den floor

4. Takes me to baseball games (& his softball games) and teaches me about sports.

3. I get SO excited every night when he comes in from work. As soon as I hear the garage door opening, I start dancing and chanting "Daddy's Home! Daddy's Home!".

2. He lets me play his guitar and teaches me to sing Johnny Cash ("it burns...burns... burns...da wring o' firer".

1. He tells me he loves me everyday and gives me the biggest bear hugs!

I love you, daddy! Happy Father's Day!

Last weekend with the Wimberlys

We went to Atlanta last weekend to meet Jackson's new cousin, Elliott Kate, and to visit with Uncle Tyson and Aunt Amanda. Mimi and Granddaddy got to come down for a night, too. Elliott is as adorable in person as she is in all the pictures.

Uncle Tyson and Aunt Amanda could hardly wait to take Jackson to their neighborhood's new waterpark. We went everyday and Jackson absolutely loved every minute.

Jack continues to be fearless in the water and didn't hesitate to go down every slide - except for the adult one below that we dubbed the "toilet bowl" because it basically shot you down the tube REALLY fast and you went around the bowl several times before you drop into a deep pool at the bottom. Very fun.

Recalls on Thomas the Tank Engine

Spread the word...The news tonight announced that some of the Thomas the Tank Engines have been recalled due to being contaminated with LEAD on their surface paint. Click HERE for the full list and details of which ones are being recalled. These were made in China. Um... hello...WHY did this happen in this day and age when EVERYONE knows that Lead paint is leathal?? As I heard the announcement, Jackson sat at my feet playing with his beloved engine, James, one of the very ones being recalled. Which, I have since confiscated along with 8 other contaminated pieces that I know he has had in his mouth at one point or another. Thank goodness there are some engines that are ok to play with -- I don't know what Jackson would do!!

new funny & cute things ...

1. He sometimes says his own prayers... it's a variation of a prayer that Boz says... "Thank you God for this day, my family, and my friends. Thank you for JESUS!. Amen". The first time he said it on his own mommy cried.
2. Jackson says his hair is "broken" and gets upset when I put gel in his hair (a necessity after his last disaster haircut). I think this is a result of me constantly saying I needed to "fix it".
3. He plays with his Thomas the Tank engines like they are action figures. He know all their names, knows who is friends with whom, and makes them "talk" to each other. Really cute to watch.
4. Jackson has a "picnic" at church each Sunday with the bagels. He knows he has to sit on the floor and stay there. This has started a new trend with some of the other kids - a few weeks ago there were as many as 8 lined up against the wall having a "bagel picnic" with him!
5. Yellow = "well-o"
6. Occaisonally calls mommy "honey" - picked this up from daddy.
7. Six = "sick"
8. Interacts with the TV shows ... he answers Dora's questions, finds Blue's Clues, and when Bob the Tomato introduces himself, Jackson replies "Hi Bob. I'm Jackson. It's me, Jackson".
