picky-eater

Jackson is a very picky eater. VERY picky. One day he loves PB&J, the next he hates it. And, he has his daddy's tastes for vegetables - nothing green! And to his mother's horror, anytime we go out to eat he chants "Fry-Fry! Fry-Fry!". Ironically, he loves anything he can dip - especially salsa and guacamole. Not your typical toddler favorites. During today's lunchtime food battle, Jackson was whining. He refused his apple (which any other day he loves), refused vanilla pudding (um... who refuses pudding??), and was even refusing peanut butter Ritz crackers (usually a favorite). In frustration, mommy set down some hummus and crackers she was eating. Jackson promptly picks up one cracker and wolfs down the rest of the container of hummus - with the same cracker (hasn't quite learned that double-dipping is a faux pas!). So, he may be a picky-eater like is daddy, but he sure has his mommy's love for all things dipped!

Cousins Ethan and Elijah arrive!!!

It was a busy, but exciting weekend for The Windleys! Two cousins born within a 12 hour period! Whew! Jackson is not quite sure what to think of all these babies!

On Friday late afternoon, Aunt Cheri and Uncle Matt had Ethan Michael. He is a "biggin" - 9lbs, 5oz!

Just 12 hours later on Saturday, Aunt Karen had Elijah James - 8lbs, 5oz.

Potty!!!!

I bought Jack a little potty seat 2 weeks ago because he has been fascinated with the toilets lately. I did not, however, have high expectations. He loves the seat - especially likes to play with the plastic guard on it that boys have to use. He has sat on it several times, with no results. Last night he came running up to me frantically and yelled "POTTY!". I grabbed him up and ran to the toilet and ripped off the diaper (no pull ups, yet - I obviously hadn't expected this). He sat for a minute and then I heard it....the beautiful sound of tinkle in the potty! I was shocked and he was SO PROUD! My expectations are still low, but its a start! I bought Thomas the Tank Engine undies today just in case! Here's a picture of him reading a book on his new potty seat.
