St. Louis Arch
We are only 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis, so it's fun to take advantage of the fun things to do there! Last Saturday we woke up and decided to go to the Arch. If you've ever been to the Arch, you know that there's not a whole lot to do there. You go down into the basement and buy your tickets, take a "train" to the top and then there's a viewing area. Then you go back down and leave. Not crazy awesome, but it's a National Monument, so it's fun to do. The kids LOVED it! Their immense amount of impatience waiting in line led us to the idea that we better just do a Disney cruise soon and NOT Disney World. Not sure they'd handle the lines at this age.
See that round building behind them? That's where Eric took me to dinner the night we got engaged. It has a revolving restaurant on the top floor!

Preschool!!
Last Tuesday the kids had their first day of Preschool. Caroline goes all day on Tues, Wed., and Thur. Cole goes all day on Tues and Thur.
We have been talking about preschool to Cole for weeks trying to talk up his teacher and get him excited. But as we all know, he is very clingy to MOMMY and does not like to be separated.
Tuesday morning he gladly took a picture on the porch and smiled proudly. He was so excited for Preschool! We got to school and walked Caroline to her room where we unloaded her and kissed her goodbye. She was really excited and proud to be in Pre-K. We left her in her classroom and Cole immediately started crying and started climbing up my leg. We got to his room and he was an absolute wreck. It broke my heart, but I knew it was good for him to get away from Mommy just a couple days a week.
I picked them up at 2:30 and Cole's face was red and streaked from tears (so sad). Thursday went a lot better. A lot of tears when I dropped him off, but apparently had a relatively good day.
Caroline had a terrific first week of school! She loves her teachers (and so do I). There's a little girl from church in her class, so that made her happy. I pray this year preps her for Kindergarten! Which will start in 11 months!!! OH MY GOSH!
