Grandma's 80th!

We have a lot of celebrations in August each year. This year, I turned 30. Cyndy turned 60. Grandma turned 80! Erics was on the 21st and Robert's birthday was on the 9th plus 2 anniversaries!

On Sunday we drove to Pekin, IL to celebrate Eric's Grandma's 80th birthday! She had a nice room reserved for us and we had a nice lunch and cake together! The room was great, so Cole could do his wild maneuvers and get away with it (unlike at dinner Friday night).

Happy 80th Birthday, Grandma!!!

My 30th birthday!!

I am now in my thirties. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet, but I know I feel pretty special! Eric bought me my first ever present from Tiffany & Co. It's a gorgeous necklace that we saw in NYC that I fell in love with!
I worked out, am currently getting a pedicure, and have our babysitter coming at 3 to keep the kids (that's a present enough!) and we are going to a winery with family!

We've had a great week. Caroline loves preschool. It's only two mornings a week and I wish it were more but it seems to be enough for her.
Tuesday was Eric's 31st birthday and we left cole with a babysitter and took Caroline and our parents to the cardinals game and to our favorite restaurant. We had a great time. We didn't bring cole bc he is wild and crazy!! He wouldn't have sit still through the dinner or game!
On another note, we have given up Caroline's afternoon nap. She occasionally will fall asleep on the couch watching a movie but overall no more naps. We have been going through a little rough patch at bedtime where she is scared to death to go to bed. She's been having bad dreams and we have been lying with her each night until she falls asleep, which can take over an hour!!!
Caroline has made best friends with the 10 year old twins next door. They are sooo sweet to her and it has really pulled Caroline out of her little shell. Have I already blogged about this? I'm sitting outside now while she plays with them so I thought I'd mention it.

60th Birthday Party!!

Courtney's baby shower was over around 12 and we immediately transformed our house to get ready for another party! We hosted Cyndy's (Mamaw) 60th Birthday Party at our house. Cyndy and I share the same birthday, August 25th. She'll be 60 and i'll be 30! Pretty cool, huh? We had about 40 people at our house that evening and we had Pasta House cater it and had a gorgeous cake made!

Courtney's Shower

I had the pleasure of hosting Eric's sister Courtney's baby shower at our house on Saturday. She's having a baby girl and due on October 19th. The shower was perfect and she was showered with lots of great gifts for the baby!
We had a brunch for about 25 people with lots of yummy food and champagne punch (that the poor mommy to be couldn't drink!) :o)

We brought ALL the toys out of the playroom to the basement and set up tables and chairs in the sun room! This is one of the 6 topiaries I made for centerpieces!

Since I'm obsessed with Pinterest, I saw the idea to have a "Do It Yourself Onesie Making Station", so we took it to a whole new level and instead of puff paint and onesies, we bought tons of fabric and cut out darling appliques for the baby girl. The finished product is in a below picture...

Rag Wreath I made for the Baby Girl's nursery door. As soon as she has a name, I'll  paint an initial instead of the "Baby Girl" sign!

If you put two marbles into a balloon before you put helium in, they'll hang upside down!
