Lately...

Cole had his first haircut last Friday! It was much overdue and looks so cute. He was so traumatized though and screamed the whole time.

We hadn't had rain in at least 7-8 weeks. Our yard was turning into dust We got a short sprinkle yesterday. And another light sprinkle now. We desperately need more!

Eric starts work officially on Wednesday which means I'll officially be the one and only stay at home parent. I'm thinking this may be a one year gig and I'll teach next year? Not sure if staying home is for me. Guess I don't need to decide that yet. I'm excited to have the opportunity!

Celebrity Doctor??

Eric was on a segment of "Great Day St. Louis" today discussing Glaucoma! He was so relaxed and professional. So proud of him!

It's Like a Big Blue Watery Road...

Ahhhh, we're feeling quite relaxed after a 7-day Eastern Caribbean Cruise. I'm sure our parents aren't feeling as relaxed as they were our amazing babysitters/housesitters/dogsitters!! Eric and I had a blast on Freedom of the Seas (Royal Caribbean). This was our 3rd cruise together and we definitely think our next cruise will be a Disney cruise. Although we were quite impressed with how much our ship was tailored toward small kids.

We ate a lot. Then we ate again. Then we drank wine. Repeat. Repeat. Then we had a fruity drink. Repeat. Repeat. With some relaxation thrown all in between there. We both read the same book called Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Totally recommend it. It was awesome!

On Monday we were scheduled to be in Cocay, Bahamas but the weather was pretty nasty, so we blew right on through there and had a gorgeous day at Sea. Not another rain drop the rest of the trip. Beautiful weather! We were in St. Thomas on Wednesday where we went to Magen's Bay (Top 10 Beach in the World!). So beautiful!! Thursday we were in St. Maarten and went to Orient Beach (another totally lazy beach day) with a bunch of shopping thrown in there. Let me say that we did a bunch of shopping on both islands, but didn't buy a thing (except for a cute outfit for each kid.).

We laid in the sun for just a little bit each day and then would move to the shade (we don't want skin cancer or leathery skin.) where we'd read (or nap). Ahhhh, such fun.

My heart ached every single day for Cole and Caroline. We were able to use our cells all day in St. Thomas (virgin island!!), but otherwise it was a fortune to call. But, I did talk Eric into letting me call one of the days and text another one.

We are having major withdrawals from our amazing head waiter, Dane. We had such respect for him as he's from Jamaica and has 2 little kids and a wife at home and is on a SEVEN MONTH contract with Royal Caribbean, so he luckily at least gets to see his family every other week when the ship stops in Jamaica and he gets to see them for a whopping two hours. Can you imagine?? What an honorable man for doing what he has to for his family. He was awesome and I'd love to hire him full time. But then he'd be even further from his family.

We are back home to 1 course meals and on a total alcohol detox for a while. Most importantly, we are back home to our babies that we missed severely.

Huge huge shout out to our parents. We never would have left our kids if we didn't know they were being spoiled and loved all over. THANK YOU!

Our pictures aren't great. We just used our iphones and did a lot of self-portraits (you know, the ones I despise that are all over facebook!).

Pina Coladas for the "Sail Away" Party!

On the balcony of our room. Can't really see the water, but we had a lot of fun hanging out on the balcony!

We sent this picture to Caroline to emphasize how big the "Big Boat" really was.

Maybe had a little too much wine Friday night??!

Disney Ship was behind us in St. Thomas.

Formal Night

After dinner Scotch

Magen's Bay

ahhhh....
gorgeous. calm. relaxing. I'd like a house right there in Magen's Bay. Surely they need an Ophthalmologist??

I don't remember where this is. St. Thomas?

Not the most exciting pictures, but we've already been to these islands and didn't feel the need to take a million pics.

Back to reality...Cole is waking up from nap!

STL Zoo!!!

Eric and I have sooooo many memories of the St. Louis Zoo. It's such an awesome Zoo and I saw several signs that said "America's #1 Zoo". I'm not sure who voted on that, but I'd have to agree that it is pretty darn sweet. We were really excited to bring our kids there and enjoy a day together.

This swam right up next to the kids and it was soooo huge!!!

Sea Lion show!!!
