Best Friends

Caroline has admired her baby brother since the first day she met him. She loves to "help mommy" with him. He is 17 pounds. She is 26 pounds. But, she definitely thinks she could carry him around the house. I am pretty sure she just thinks he's a live doll for her to play with. He just looks at her and giggles. I am so happy they love each other. Here's a few pictures to go along with my theme of Best Friends!

She's trying to teach Cole how to clap his hands and dance with her.

Look at her sweet arms wrapped around him. I think he was eating her doll. And she still loves him.

Loves to hold him. She is a little rough, so of course Daddy's hand is right there ready.

Those sweet arms again! Love them.

She has really been enjoying feeding Cole. Although he was eating Carrots/Pears and she kept saying "caroline bite" and she ended up finishing off his baby food. Gross, weird, but kind of cute.

She wanted to be like her brother and wear his bib. She hasn't worn a bib in at least 9 months.

Gorgeous Weekend!

My parents came down for the weekend. We had a lot of fun. They kept the kids home on Friday while Eric and I worked. Friday night we went to Taziki's and Gigi Cupcakes! Then we got up early Saturday and headed up to Mt. Laurel for family pictures. There's a sneak peek on Facebook, but I'll put all of them on the blog once I get them!
Saturday afternoon Cole wasn't feeling too hot, so we ended up st aying home in the evening. My mom and dad took Caroline to Baha Burger and brought us back some dinner. The weekend was short, but we had a great time and already miss them!!

We went to Buy Buy Baby on Saturday and Caroline got to pick out a toy. Naturally, she went right to Dora! Thanks, Gigi.

Gigi with one-half of her grandbabies.

Gigi & Papa with their Alabama Grandbabies. At Thanksgiving all the grandkids will be together at our house in Alabama! I. Can't. Wait!

After my parents left, we took the kids to Railroad Park. What a gorgeous day!!

Chilling while his Sissy plays at the park!

This is amazing. She clearly played really hard at the park. She FELL ASLEEP IN THE CAR! Doesn't happen often.

The Bangs

Before I begin writing about the tragedy of "the bangs", obviously y'all know that we think Caroline is the most precious & beautiful thing ever. Ok, with that being said, I took her to Salon 150 last Saturday for a last minute haircut (first mistake. I couldn't get in with the lady that did it last time.) She was happy as could be until we sat her in the chair, so I had to sit down and put her on my lap. She asked what we wanted done and I told her, "I don't want her to have BANGS, but we need a little trimming around to keep it out of her face all the time. She turned us around so Caroline couldn't see the scissors (second mistake), and 42 seconds later she turned us around and she had SUPER SHORT Bangs. I couldn't tell just how short until we were going through Walmart. YIKES. ANyway, they would be fairly cute except that they are completely uneven. The worst part, we have family pictures on Saturday. Hoping a barette will pin them back with lots of hairspray.

Looks cute here, but....

Look how uneven they are! Obviously a horrible pic of me, but she wouldn't smile until I did.

Cole is SIX months!

This was BY FAR my favorite age of Caroline. It's the age where they don't know a stranger, smile at everything, babble all the time, sleep 12 hours and actually want to go to bed early, still sits in a carseat when you are at the store and restaurant, when they wake up they are smiling and so happy, etc. etc. I loved newborn, 2 month, 4month, 5 month old Cole, but I am REALLY loving 6 month old Cole. Such a delightful little thing.
He is on 3 meals a day of baby food and 4 bottles a day. He will still only take the liquid Similac Alimentum where if I don't have a coupon, it's $9 a day. Yes, I mean $9 A DAY! Luckily I've had a coupon everytime. If anyone is willing to let me sign them up for some formula coupons, e-mail me at katiewigton@yahoo.com! I'll take you up on it! :o)

We had Cole's 6 month appointment yesterday. He has gained a pound since his 4 month checkup. He is now 16 lbs, 4 oz. w hich is only the 25th percentile (Just like Caroline)  He is 26.5 inches long, which is the 50th perecentile. He still spits up quite a bit, but it's getting better.

He can now sit up on his own, babble many sounds, plays with toys and can switch hands with them, giggles often, has eaten a few Cheerios everyday, and has started sippy cup practice.

We are getting the kids' pictures and a few family ones next Saturday! Can't wait! We dont have any professional  family pics with Cole in them. I bought a groupon deal the other day for a big canvas photo, so i can't wait to order that and hang it on our wall!!

Cole's Monthly pic at 6 Months Old:

Yes, Caroline has "Mall Bangs". OMG, whole new post coming soon about it.

Kansas City!

It's been a week since I last posted. We've been very busy! Last Friday, Eric's mom "Mamaw" flew down to keep the kids for a long weekend while Eric and I went to Kansas City for a job interview for Eric! The best part about the trip was that we got to stay in Overland Park with Courtney and Robert (Eric's sis and bro-in-law). They have a gorgeous house in a very nice area! We went on a Boulevard Brewery tour and ate at a BBQ place in a gas station (it's delicious and was on Man vs. Food).

The "interview" was great and we really liked it, but not quite sure it's the right job for Eric. We'll keep you posted on that news! They did wine and dine us, which was a lot of fun and paid for the entire trip, so it was very nice to head to KC to at least visit Court and Robt.

Mamaw had a great time with the kids, but I'm sure she was exhausted by Monday evening when I got home. We are soooo thankful that she is retired and willing to come keep our babies. Thanks, Mamaw!

She may hurt me later for putting this picture up, but it cracks me up!

Happy Happy Lil' Guy!!

He has started holding his own bottle!! Hallelujah!! Caroline didn't do this until almost 12 months when she got rid of the bottle anyway!

Kansas City!
We went to a great restaurant called "North". It was amazing!!

We went on a Boulevard Brewery Tour on Saturday night and enjoyed some free beverages afterward!!

Rain, Mr. Frank, & The 2 Hour Bath...

We had quite the stormy Labor Day as it poured down rain all day long. That didn't stop us from having fun. Eric took Caroline to the mall to look for new shoes, toys, and to ride the choo-choo train. A little while after they got back we all 4 sat with the back doors wide open and watched the rain. And then Caroline decided to put her hands out and feel the rain which led into her running out in the rain, stripping down to her pull-up and running out into the rain.

Which then led to a wild & hyper little girl jumping around in the puddles and Mommy & Daddy cracking up laughing at her.

Soooo sweet.

We lost power around 5pm while dinner was in the oven. So we had nothing else to do but give the kids a bath. Cole didn't last long and I got him to sleep (with a cold bottle & no fan...he must've been tired!!).  We had the iPad going with some fun music...Frank Sinatra. Caroline LOVED "New York, New  York" and kept saying "Mr. Frank Again." She danced her little heart out in the water with daddy on the outside of the tub dancin with her. She had a blast and we took about 100 pictures of this silly girl having so much fun dancing to "Mr. Frank". ohhhh, and some "Sweet Caroline" of course!

She finally let Mommy dance with her for a little bit!!!

Oh and we still don't have power at home. I'm at work even though school was closed, so i can charge my phone and put these cute pics up online! I guess I'll plan some lessons, too! :o)
