Sunday Funday

We have had a lot of fun staying inside on this rainy, yucky day. We've been singing, dancing, bouncing, rolling over, reading books, listening to music, smiling, swinging, sleeping, laughing, eating, jumping, watching the Cardinals, playing with the pugs, and surely I can think of one more verb to tell about our day....yes... LOVING being home together this weekend. (yes, that was one big run-on sentence!)

Almost nap time

Getting ready to roll over

Look at me sit up in my Boppy! I fell over after a couple minutes, though.

I love my teddy bear that GG Davis gave me!
Playing with my puppies

Listening to Momma sing me some silly song

This is the coolest play area!

Laughing at Momma dancing. She was trying to get me to smile.

I just had to post this picture b/c she looks like she is thinking "Ohhh My Gah!" Oh and gotta love the Cardinals outfit!! We love the StL!!

Rolling Over!

Caroline has rolled over a few times, but everytime I have the video camera handy she won't do it. Well, today she showed off for the camera!! She does her trick at about 0:20!

Playing Catch Up...

I feel like I've been "on the go" for weeks now, so tonight I'm playing catch up around the house. I figured I better upload some new pics of Caroline before I get in trouble from our family 'Up North'. :o) We had a great weekend with Aunt Courtney visiting. Caroline sure enjoyed spending some quality time with her.

Celebtrating Mommy's Birthday at PF Changs!

Aunt Courtney loves me!

Look at my big blue eyes!

Happy Birthday!!

Yesterday was Eric's 28th birthday. While I was at work he got to play all day with Caroline and his sister Courtney. He took a vacation day to spend it with his sister and luckily it just happened to be his birthday! They had a great day with Caroline. Then last night we went to Sekisui for some delicious sushi!! If you haven't tried the Bama Roll from there, do so immediately! I'll post more pictures later this weekend, but here are a couple for now.

Isn't this the cutest picture ever??
Gotta get pictures on the phone!!
Just got back from dinner and I'm hungry!!
Nope, changed my mind. I'd rather sleep.
Pool time!

So I haven't been very good about blogging, and I definitely can't promise I'll get any better. Work, Caroline, and home life has definitely been keeping me busy. I worked all weekend long on lesson plans and fortunately have the first 3 weeks completely planned out! This will help me from having to stay late at work everyday. I know I'll be anxious to go pick up Caroline. She is liking daycare (I think). They seem to be taking very good care of her. I think her day consists of sleep, eat, sleep, poop, eat, pee, sleep, eat, poop. That's our girl! :o)
We are very excited for Courtney to come down next weekend. She'll be here on Thursday night. Eric is taking a vacation day on Friday (his birthday!) and will keep Caroline at home with him and Courtney. Caroline will enjoy spending some quality time with Aunt Court.
Well, it's off to work on more school stuff. Here is a slideshow of this past week.

14 Weeks

I knew that once I went back to work I wouldn't have near as much time to take hundreds of pictures of Caroline or to document everything she does. So far Caroline is doing great at daycare. In my opinion, she's the cutest one in the class! :o) I have done very well this week. Much better than I expected.

Here are a few pictures from this week.

She loves eating her hands!!
On our way to daycare!

This is her first day of daycare outfit. Too bad they had to change her after 1 hour due to an explosive diaper!

So sweet!!

Daycare

One day last week I took Caroline up to daycare just to meet her "teachers". Well one of the sweet teachers asked if they could hold Caroline. I thought that was very sweet. Well, as I handed her over I started crying...really hard. I just wasn't ready to do that. Caroline left with me and I sobbed all the way home. I knew that taking Caroline to daycare was going to be REALLY hard, but I just wasn't prepared.

Yesterday I took Caroline to daycare just so I could go grocery shopping. I thought this was a good way to ease my way into it. Well, I left her with the sweet girls at daycare and made it all the way to Walmart w/o crying. THEN, I sobbed down the soda aisle. I missed her like crazy and raced my way through Walmart. She was only at daycare for 50 minutes yesterday.

This morning I took her there and laid her down on a boppy pillow and she was just smiling and laughing at me. Tears rolled down my cheek as I left, but I knew I'd only be gone a couple hours. I went to my classroom to work for a whlie. I picked her up exactly 3 hours later and she was being rocked by one of the teachers. She smiled really big when I bent over to pick her up. That made my day!!

So to all of you ladies who are getting ready to do the same thing...it's HARD, but I think with time we will get used to it. I know Caroline is in good, experienced hands. I will just miss her like crazy!!

She will start full time on Monday. Say some prayers for me ( i know she will be fine!).

Caroline's First Trip

Caroline took her first trip out of Birmingham all the way up to Bethalto, IL!!! She did great on the plane. Here is a slideshow of our trip (excluding baptism pics b/c i already posted those!!!) I think you can click on the slideshow to view it as an album instead of a slideshow.

3 Months

This summer sure did fly by. Caroline turned 3 months old yesterday and she is A LOT of fun right now. I think 3 months is definitely my favorite age so far!! Her hair is turning very blonde. Her eyes are BRIGHT BLUE. She looks EXACTLY like her daddy. It's hilarious how much she really does look just like him. Caroline is such a sweet baby. She is smiling ALL the time now. If you get close to her and talk to her she will look right at you and smile at you. She is tracking things very closely. OH and she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES her hands. They are in her mouth all the time. We can't believe how big she is getting. We estimate she's about 11.5 pounds. Also today, Caroline played in her Jumperoo for the first time. We had to put one of Eric's thick medical books underneath so her feet could touch! She had a good time!

She took her first plane ride last weekend to St. Louis. She got to meet lots of extended family that she hadn't met yet. We were worried she'd be one of those babies that screamed the whole plane ride. We should have known better b/c she is such a sweet natured baby and really doesn't fuss a whole lot. She slept the ENTIRE flight to and from St. Louis. Thank goodness!

Here is Caroline's picture at 3 months old:

Rodgers Pics

Wigton Photos

We have lots to blog about, but probably won't have time until this weekend. I wanted to add a couple slideshows of some professional pictures our families had done last weekend. I only had time to upload the Wigton family pics. I'll upload the Rodgers pics tomorrow.

Caroline's Baptism

Eric and I were fortunate enough to be able to have Caroline baptized at Zion Lutheran, the church that I grew up in. We were very pleased that Pastor Mark was able to do it. He married Eric and I five years ago! We had six sponsors stand up with us during the baptism--Courtney & Robert, Kaci & Mark, and Kraig & Michelle. We are very blessed to have such amazing siblings, all of whom we would trust to raise Caroline in a Christian home. We had two pews full of people there to support Caroline!

During church we sang my FAVORITE childhood song. It is called "They'll know We are Christians By Our Love". I thought it was an appropriate song as we were dedicating our child to the Lord.

After church, The Wigtons had a luncheon for their family to honor Caroline. We were so happy that Great Grandma Davis and Great Grandpa Wigton were able to come meet Caroline. Also, Caroline got to meet her Great Aunt Carla, Great Uncle Dan, and Great Aunt Joanie.

Enjoy the slideshow of the Baptism (you can click on the album to view them individually):
