I realize I am months behind in blogging. I have accepted the fact that I will never get caught up, so I am just going to start back with what's happening NOW!
Caroline has been excited ALL SUMMER about starting Kindergarten. In her mind that means she is a very big girl. She's still my tiny little baby girl, so I had a hard time accepting it, but was ready for her to start. After all, C & C have fought all day everyday for 2 months.
When her letter came in the mail that told us her teacher's name and Kindergarten Orientation time, I realized it was actually happening. I actually thought I would be more emotional than I was, but she was so happy and excited that it was easier on me.
I wanted to start a tradition that I could do every single year that would mean something to all of us when she graduates high school. I designed her a t-shirt with her graduation year on there in an Adult Small shirt. Every year i'll take her picture on the first day wearing it. Now, I just have to keep track of it for 12 more years.
We had Orientation a couple nights before school started and I forgot to take a picture of her in the classroom or by her locker. #momfail
Her teacher is super sweet and Caroline already loves her after 2 days of school.
Cole was pretty excited for Caroline to start. Earlier in the summer I thought he would be lost without her, but all they do is bicker; so I think this is a good separation!
(Cole thinks he is a pirate. A real pirate. He has a sword down his pants AT ALL TIMES, a hat, and eye patch. Almost always has his spyglass handy, too.
I pray that Caroline has an amazing year and grows in so many ways. She is such a joy to be around and I know her infectious smile will wear off on others.
The second grade teacher came pouring out of me while I had chalk markers and a chalkboard. Three minutes later this is what I came up with.
Our first impression with her school is that it is super nice and everyone is incredibly friendly. It's behind our neighborhood, so we walked on the first day! We have a lot of friends that go there and her best little friend Claire is actually in her class.
Cole starts school after Labor Day. I hope for a happier school year for him than this past year!
