Horseback Riding OR Crafts?!?

Ryan had the great opportunity of going with a few of his co-workers to St. George over the weekend. They left Thursday morning. When they got down there they settled in and went for a ride ont he horses. I don't know how things like this always happen to Ryan but he got bucked off...on the FIRST day! He landed on his back pretty hard and bruised some ribs. Poor guy. The rest of the trip he and a friend stayed off the horses and went up the mountains to shoot clay pigeons and what not.

I decided while he was gone with the guys I would go up to Kaysville and spend the weeknd with my mom and sisters. I went to a matinee with Tricia on Saturaday afternoon too see Confessions of a Shopaholic. I also went with my sister to the dollar theater on Saturday night to see Twilight for the 3rd time. I am addicted to the movie and have already pre-ordered it on Amazon.com. The rest of the time we spent making cards on my Cricut that I got for Christmas. We had to much fun and are planning on making more this weekend. It's my new addiction along with sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. The cards are for sell for $1.50 each and requests are welcome! Haha!

All in all it was a very fun weekend and I was glad to share time and make memories with my sisters and mom (ok..and nieces and my little newborn nephew). Thanks to Sara for the movie and the Pomegranate Italian Chiller. Thanks to Shannidoodle for being a baby hog (jk) and your creative card ideas. And as always, thanks to my amazing angel of a mother for a place to stay and morning breakfasts of grapefruit and boiled eggs.

Lasik Anyone?

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year AND Happy Birthday to Ryan! On January 2nd we went for a little trip to Lasik Plus to have Ryan's eyes done. The first picture of him being scared (ok...pretending to be scared for the camera) when we were pulling out of our driveway. The 3rd picture is just before surgery, 4th picture is just after surgery and the 5th one is Lasik Plus sending him home. While he was on the table getting they surgery done I watched through the glass window. It was pretty crazy and GROSS to watch but fascinating at the same time. They gave him a stuffed monkey to squeeze while they did the procedure and afterwards he said how glad he was that they let him hold it. It just makes me laugh because apparently lots of people need to squeeze the poor little stuffed monkey. He had to wear those eye covers all day long and then every night to sleep in for the first week or so. We had a follow up appointment yesterday and they said that one eye is 20/15 and the other eye is 20/10. I would say he can see pretty well. Now we have a year to pay it off and then hopefully I can have mine done. Glasses and/or contacts since 6th grade is just not ideal any longer! Any of you that have the chance to have Lasik I say DO IT! Ryan had a really good experience and is happy to not have to wear glasses for swimming, taking pictures, hunting, etc. I seriously am jealous and can't wait for MY TURN!

New Year's 2009

New Year's was a blast. All the kids thought it would be fun to go around the room and blow dry, cut and comb everyone's hair. Everyone was being good sports...especially Grandma! We ate lots of food, played games and made homemade ice cream. Najib was a party pooper and fell asleep at like 930 or 10. I don't know how he slept through all the chaos. Five minutes after the ball dropped on t.v. we were all heading home to bed. That is what happens when everyone starts to get old! :)

Holiday Catch Up

The holidays were amazing. I can't even believe they are over and that time flies so fast. We specnt Christmas morning at the in-laws. They seriously make you feel like a kid all over again. We helped them carry out all the presents on Christmas Eve. The whole downstairs room was FULL of presents. We had all of Ryan's sibling there along with the two girls and little Asher. Grandma and Uncle Ron were also there. So, with 12 adults and 3 kids you can imagine all the presents...oh wait...you don't have to becuase I have pictures!! We gave Asher the basketball hoop for Christmas and he loved it! It is still at Grandma's and every time he comes over he wants Grandpa to go downstairs and play with him. It is so cute! It was a nice, relaxing day and many great memories were made.

Still waiting for pictures...

I know..I am HORRIBLE at posting pictures on here. I need to take a lesson from Heather Smith and carry my camera around with me in an Altoids container. However, I think my camera is a little too thick for that. I know I still need to post some before and after pictures from my breast reduction surgery so I promise I will do that before too long. Don't hate me. It's not like I have kids and stuff that I am constantly taking pictures of like all you mom's out there. No disrespect by any means but mine and Ryan's life is pretty dull and boring in comparison. Keep posting pics because I really enjoy checking out all of your blogs. I will try to do better.

Craft Master? I'd say NOT!

I have been doing a lot of craft projects lately. I went and bought paper mache letters that spell GIVE THANKS and BELIEVE. I guess I should say Jenn and I went and bought the letters after we went to numerous stores and I even called my sister Sara to Google me some places that might sell them since everywhere was out. I worked with Angie and Jenn (both sisters-in-law on Ryan's side) on them and we covered them with scrapbook paper and antiqued the edges using a black stamp pad. We are still missing some of the vowels because Robert's was all out at the time so I really need to get the rest of them so I can actually display GIVE THANKS before it is too late. I have also been working on 2 other craft projects that I can't really talk about because a lot of you will be getting them as little holiday gifts. I hope you all will love them as much as I already do.
Ryan has been ADDICTED to video games lately. He was playing a game called Fable II but then one called Fallout 3 came out and he has been playing it ever since. He plays it constantly so I am basically banned to the bedroom to watch Football and all my weekly shows. Good thing I like to be alone sometimes otherwise we might really have a problem on our hands. I did make a bargain with Ryan yesterday though that if he helped me finally clean out one of the spare bedrooms for 30 minutes to an hour that he could play his game the whole time I got ready. I have to admit that I did take my time to get ready because after cleaning that nasty room I felt gross. Hence the long shower, lots of lotion, and watching Lipstick Jungle in between. Needless to say that he did help me and we can now get the bed from Angie that they have been wanting us to store so they could turn their guest room into the twins's playroom. I am more than happy to take the bed because I am hoping that someday we will actually have guests that won't have to sleep on the floor or the couch! After cleaning and getting ready for the day yesterday we met up with Angie and Najib and the babies for lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. After that we ventured to the mall (I know..we are BRAVE). Mervyn's is having all of their stuff on sale since they are going out of business. I bought me a few christmas presents and one for Ryan. Then we got the heck out of there because there was WAY TOO MANY people for my liking. I came home and took a nap while Ryan played his game some more (I know...shocker). We then went to Jenn's house for more of a craft night and we played a game on the Playstation 3 called Little Big Planet. I hope it comes out on the Xbox because it is so much fun and I actually enjoy playing it. You should all check it out.

So we finally meet again....

Well, I guess I better do an update since all I ever hear from everyone is..."I really think you need to update your blog." So...a lot has happened in the past few weeks. I have had something going on every single weeked. In October I had a Women's Conference that I have gone to for the past 3 years with my mother-in-law Dianna and my sister-in-law Angie. They feed you breakfast and lunch and have a drawing for prices. It is an all day event and we get to hear talks on different subjects realting to women's health. I really enjoy going every year. Ryan and I also attended the annual Halloween party that my dad and his wife LeAnn throw. There is always lots of food, pumpkin carving and lots of good company. Our friends Casey and Jenny and their daughter Addy came with us and Casey was sweet enough to carve a Mickey Mouse pumpkin for Addy since that is her favorite. Ryan helped me cut the top off mine but he was not having any of that! I carved a ghost and I have to say it was probably my best carving ever. I am very excited for the holidays and I have even started listening to Christmas music on Kosy 106.5. For all you out of staters---feel free to google them and you can listen live. I am happy to say that I have a lot of my gifts and presents figured out and I am going to be done early this year. I love the holidays!

FINALLY an update

Well, I guess I better do a quick update since I haven't posted in awhile. Things are going really well. I have started on Christmas gifts because I can't stand to wait until the last minute. I have to start thinking about it in July so I can start preparing. Good times. I can't help that I like to make most of my gifts because it just makes it a little more special in my book.
My boobs are healing good. WARNING--nastiness ahead! Most of my scabs have fallen off now and there are a few spots where you can actually see some of the stitches pushing their way through to get OUT of my body. Most of the swelling has gone down and I can even sleep on my sides now. So...to answer the question from my previous post....YES, it is worth it! My back still hurts when I sit at the computer all day but in a few months I think I will be as good as new. Ryan has been "busy" working for American Fork city. They "make" him drive up the canyons, watch hunting videos all day long and occassionally he even has to fix a sprinkler or two. What a hard job he has. At least he doesn't come home grumpy so I am fine with that! Work is still going good in the drug testing business. It has been a busy month which makes the time go by extremely fast. I did watch the last debate the other night and thought McCain held his own. I am still undecided on the 'who to vote for' front. Maybe Independent? Well, the next couple weekends will be busy so I will update on those cuz it is FUN stuff happening.

Hunting Season Yet Again....

So, Ryan decided he need to spend a few days out on the desert looking for deer. This week is the hunt and he took Wednesday-Friday off of work. Well, last weekend he went out and decided he needed to get a head start and find where the deer were so that he could be ready for this week. He didn't have much luck, BUT...he did find a nice coyote he decided he should shoot. These pictures have been photoshopped for the stomach sensitive ones as they were orginally pretty bloody. He is very proud as this is his FIRST coyote he has shot this year. He cut the tail off and is going to do something with it though I do not know what. Hopefully sell it for some big money...like $25. haha! It was pretty disgusting but it is what he loves. He was very proud so I guess I was too.

Breast Reduction-Worth It?!?

So...most of you know that I decided to have a breast reduction. Well, on September 9th it all happend. I showed up to the hospital at 10:30 am. I then sat in the little room with an IV in my hand until 1:00 pm because the anesthesiologist got held up at another surgery. They finally took me back to surgery and Ryan went and met up with his mom. They waited together. They were told my surgery would only last a couple of hours. Well, after 4 hours they hadn't heard anything so they went to the nurses station trying to get information. After another hour of that, with still no update, someone finally came and told them that the surgery took longer than normal because they found a tumor the size of an EGG. They said they seemed to get it all and it came back benign which is really good. After post-op and recovery I finally got to go home and by then it was about 10:30 pm. That was the worst night ever. I had drains coming out of my armpits and I needed help to even stand up and/or go to the bathroom. I finally got a sponge bath on Thursday after 3 days of nastiness. Friday the 12th I went to the doctor for my check up and they removed the drains and cotton and bandages. Then they gave me this surgical bra that I have to wear for the next 3 weeks...night and day. Good thing Ryan is such a good husband. He has been helping me change my bra, shower, washing my hair, helping me get dressed, etc. It has been a rough week and a half to say the least. I finally got my appetite back a few days ago. I also went to another doctor's appointment today (the 19th) and he said everything is looking good and healing good. He gave me persmission to drive come Monday....finally!!!! He did however tell me that they would be somewhat swollen and misshapen for the next 3 or so months! YIKES! Not looking forward to that by any means. I know you are all anxious to see pictures so I will get some posted as soon as possible. I went from a size E (or close to) to a C. Pretty much in half...good times and hopefully in a few months I will be happy with my decision.

My very FIRST entry!

So, I have been wanting to start a blog for awhile now but I always thought "what would Ryan and I have to post about?" Well, the answer to that is ANYTHING WE WANT TO! So here we go.... Last night Angie (Ryan's sister) called us and said they were at the store and they had a Wii Fit. I have been wanting one forever! So, they bought it for us and we paid them back and I decided it would be my birthday present (which my bday is on the 28th). So, Ryan and I hooked it all up and went through the set up process. It told me my BMI is too high and that my posture isn't very good. lol! What can I say..I sit at a desk all day long. Anyway, I did some strength training and aerobics and it seriously kicked my butt. I was sweating, which is disgusting, but I felt really good afterwards. I think this is going to be a great purchase! I recommend them to all who want to get in shape AND enjoy themselves all at once. Ryan and I couldn't quit giggling about it. Along with last night we did watch more olympics (which I am ADDICTED to and watch all hours of the night). We saw Misty May and Kerri Walsh win their second consecutive GOLD MEDAL in beach volleyball. It was awesome. Other than that it was my second night in a row where I got very little sleep and tossed and turned all night long. Lame-o!
