Happy Thanksgiving!

We started out Thanksgiving with our first annual Turkey Trot! For the past five or more years we have always played in a Turkey Bowl, but not this year… we wanted to try something a little different and boy was it fun! Fun to beat Aaron that is!!! We wagered a month of no laundry for the winner, and I have been happily filling my time with other things (mostly other sorts of chores…darn.) But nonetheless, I ran in at 27:45, and Aaron at 31 something, or so he says. We have another run coming up this Saturday where he swears up and down he will beat me, so we will just have to see! We captured our end moments from my phone, so the quality is not the greatest:

I snagged some pictures of the girls in their matching Coug gear before leaving for dinner… but of course no one can just stand still and smile… EVER!

On our way down to Aunt Celeste’s the girls got to enjoy their new car seats! We went ahead and turned Allie around (in the hopes that she’d stop screaming on all car rides and have something more to look at), and Malia got her very own big girl booster! (which doesn’t appear to look very comfortable…)

Yum! Our bellies left happy and full.

And this little girl was much too cute not to take another picture. I could eat her up if I hadn’t been so full! LOL.

We have so much to be thankful for!

Best Dressed

This is how you find Malia most days: shirtless and pantless, with some snot dripping from her nose and a tutu. She says she needs her outfit “for dancing.” Not sure why she has to be naked, and it’s not like she’s ever dancing anyway. But whatever. Some days it’s just not worth it to fight her to put clothes on. In this particular picture she is showcasing something she made and sent to her Nana.

Not to spoil…

We had fun using the gorgeous colors right in our backyard for this awesome picture. One minute we were staring out our window checking out the back, and then suddenly the sun set on the trees so perfectly that we were like “who cares if its 30 something... lets go outside and enjoy it!” I don’t even think I was wearing any make-up… and we were probably only outside for like 15minutes before we got too cold. You might be lucky enough to find this and more in your mail soon!

Mini (very mini) road-trip!

Last weekend’s forecast was a miserable, wet and cold one. With nothing fun to do here at home besides the usual house chores, we jumped in the car and drove up to Seattle to spend the night at my cousin’s place. We had such a great time! Not only did Collette and David make for perfect company, but we had a yummy and delicious dinner, watched some fun movies, played a competitive game of phase 10, and even made and decorated sugar cookies!

These girls were too cute the next morning before heading out to the super Mall. We couldn’t really think of anything else to do and with the weather, it made a lot more sense to hang out indoors. Plus, it gave us a chance to browse around in preparation for Christmas shopping!

Before heading home we headed just a little further north (which unfortunately left us stuck in terrible traffic) to visit Matt and Jeralyn. It was fun to let the cousins play; we hung around, enjoyed a very scrumptious dinner of bbq Salmon, and went for a beautiful (and cold), walk around their place. Of course I took a lot of pictures of these cute cousins!

Whelp… that was a fun little get-away from ‘the usual’!

October 31st

Aaron did it again… for two years now he has won best-costume at work! Gotta love the news… they sure offer some great ideas of some crazy peeps. In case you don’t get it… He spent the day “occupying” his cubicle… sleeping bag, tent and all.

DSCN6661

At my work we dressed up with a sport theme. I’ll be honest… I didn’t put a whole lot of effort into my ‘costume’; just threw on a jersey, some shin guards and indoor shoes.

DSCN6663

Here’s some of us at work! A couple of us were smart enough to wear long sleeves… not I unfortunately. I didn’t not realize how much spit and spatter touched my fore-arms until I could feel it all! Let’s just say I was grateful to go to work on Tuesday and wear my usual scrubs and jacket.

I was so excited to get off early and get the girls ready that I totally left my camera at work. Malia came along for the ride, took a tour of the office and LOVED the cute little pumpkin the front-office decorated for a pumpkin contest.

After some dress-up and a little bit of makeup we were ready to take our two princesses out for the evening! And what a beautiful evening it was… clear skies, slight chill in the air. First on our agenda was a fun dinner/party with a lot of families from our neighborhood and church a few houses down from us. It was a fun way to get together for the evening before taking all the kiddos out trick-or-treating.

DSCN6672

Malia was so excited and full of smiles. Allie I am sure could have cared less… but they just looked so cute!

DSCN6675

What a beautiful Belle princess.

DSCN6685

Danielle and her husband, cute little strawberry shortcake’s parents, threw quite the party! (unfortunately this is the only pic I got… I tried to get a group picture, but it didn’t turn out…)

DSCN6686

This is the only trick-or-treating picture I got too… I suppose I wasn’t on the ball that night with my camera. I was too busy trying to hold Allie and keep her warm. A chill certainly set in that made both girls grumpy and cold. Malia was done after only a few houses, but still enjoyed every bit of it.

DSCN6692

Of course we stopped by to visit Amy! She is so awesome with the girls and truly loves them as her own. We are so lucky to have her!

I just thought this picture was so funny. Both my girls (Malia’s in the background) were sitting on these porch steps devouring candy. I just love that Allie know what to do with a candy bracelet. I mean… really? I never taught her that it was even candy. Too funny…

Every year these kids get older, the more fun traditions like these become! Happy Halloween Smile
