Saturday morning we woke up bright an early (thanks to our silly baby girls) and decided upon a trip downtown to the Vancouver Famer’s market for some fresh fruits and vegetables… items that our crappy little garden FAILED to create for us. We had a relaxing day, and after tasting so many delicious fresh fruits (the peaches were our favorite), we let the kids play on the playground and in the water spray/fountain area… an out of the ordinary activity due to the high volume of human debris. But, hey! The population of people isn’t so bad when it is only 9am!
It was just last Thursday that Allie decided to FINALLY walk, which has made playtime so much more fun for our girls! It’s almost like Allie harnessed the ability until she knew she had it perfect, because once she started, it was like she had been walking for months!

Allie has become so independent… she knows exactly what she wants, when she wants, and even knows how to do so many of the big girl sorts of things. Even such things as finding her way to the top of a big slide and going down herself!

Which reminds me… I do have to enter a funny memory here:
{On Wednesday, I was on the phone with an old friend during nap-time. There was a point during our phone call where I walked up the stairs to put something away and smelled poop. “Great…” I thought to myself, “I have to change Allie’s diaper while continuing our conversation-now-turned-argument…” (Allie likes to make a lot of noise during diaper changes- especially when I put her back down for her nap- and I wasn’t looking forward to her interrupting our heated discussion.) But, not really a big deal though right? Well… I open the door and find an opened, look liked it had been peed in, diaper on the carpet. I look up to see Allie (who was facing away from me) playing in poop that was spread everywhere on the mattress and crib; it was even rubbed into the spindles. As I look around I see little chunks of little turds all around, and that’s when I saw her pacifier… It seriously had a chunk of poop stuck to it! I silently freaked out while trying to hold the phone to my ear with my shoulder, and while trying to maintain composure as I was being picked apart by someone who I thought was my friend, I grabbed Allie to throw her in the tub and that’s when I noticed that she seriously had shiz all over her mouth, nose, cheeks… even her teeth!!! G-R-O-S-S! That put an end to our conversation (well, our friendship actually… but that’s a whole ‘nother story), and oh my gosh!!! I washed that load of laundry 3 times… still to find dried pieces of undigested fecal matter that were probably cleaner than my toilet.}
Nice story huh?
Malia loves that her sister can follow her around everywhere she goes now. She’s always like “Sister! Come here!” And she is so good at praising her baby sister for doing such a good job walking.

I had a little bit of time to edit a few of my favorite few photos…

It was such a beautiful day that it was hard for us to head home, so we grabbed lunch at Muchas Gracias and had a picnic on the waterfront before heading home.

Allie was asleep in the truck… windows opened… but it was so nice just laying out and enjoying the scenery as a family.

And again… here are a few of my favorite edited pictures… it was fun just to mess around with settings. It’s not often I get this sort of time!

I love my family!
