Saturday with Uncle Mike!

A big thanks to Mike for his 50% discount! We had a yummy dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack and enjoyed both the company of my little bro and the beautiful waterfront Saturday. It was a super relaxing evening. I would definitely have to say that this restaurant makes for a perfect setting with kids… our girls were so good!

After dinner we went for a stroll, and for the first time I actually had to admit to myself that “yes… summer is over and it’s fall time!” I hadn’t yet realized that the leaves were changing and falling.

Malia sure had a blast.

Love how zonked out these girls were when we got home! Sure makes for an easy bed-time routine!

A Girl’s Day Out

We went to the zoo today with some girls in the neighborhood… amongst the four of us women, we had 7 girls under three! It sure is an estrogen factory here in the ‘sac.

Marlo, Sophie, Ava & Malia were having so much fun running from animal to animal! They were a crack-up.

zoo1

Outside the monkeys we tried to get a pick of everyone including Emmy, Allie and Lilly… hey… that’s a lot of end in “ie” sounds! LOL.

zoo2

We definitely got us some monkeys on our hands. Marlo, Malia & Sophie.

zoo3

Allie’s favorite part were the big ginormous fish and turtles. She kept breathing in making this silly squeaky noise, then would exclaim “wow!” Her facial expressions were priceless.

zoo4

Now that Al walks, you can tell how happy she is to keep up with the other kiddos.

zoo5

That’s Jenna and Lily in the background… It was so cute that we captured their picture taking! Allie obviously was not paying attention to the camera. What is that face anyway?

zoo6

We really got to see the Lions in action today. So beautiful.

zoo11

Lily, Allie and Ava. It’s funny how Lily and Allie could almost be related by their looks.

zoo7

Petting the goats is always a hit… Allie was trying to ‘talk’ to Mr. Goat.

zoo8

We headed back to see if the Sea Lions were out… this was most definitely the girls’ most favorite part.

zoo9

Cute bums!

I thought this picture was funny… it almost looks like a two-headed giraffe!

What a fun zoo trip. Going with friends is always so much fun!

2nd official haircut EVER @ 3 1/2 years

Malia has a little friend Hadley who chopped like 8inches off her hair a couple weeks ago. Since then… this little girl has been begging for a hair-cut! I LOVE Malia’s beautiful hair… the thought just made me sad. But, combing her hair has become quite a chore lately; and it’s not like it’s all that difficult… Malia has just become a whiny little pill screaming about how much we are hurting her when we comb her hair out. Uggh… After watching a movie on Sunday, Malia pointed out a woman who had ‘above shoulder length hair’ and asked for her hair.

So… we set out today for quite the surprise…

good things come in pink boxes

voodoo

Aaron and I have a differing opinion… but to me, the line is completely worth it for these super yummy and c-r-a-z-y donuts! Gotta love P-town.

Family days are the BEST kind of days!

Saturday morning we woke up bright an early (thanks to our silly baby girls) and decided upon a trip downtown to the Vancouver Famer’s market for some fresh fruits and vegetables… items that our crappy little garden FAILED to create for us. We had a relaxing day, and after tasting so many delicious fresh fruits (the peaches were our favorite), we let the kids play on the playground and in the water spray/fountain area… an out of the ordinary activity due to the high volume of human debris. But, hey! The population of people isn’t so bad when it is only 9am!

It was just last Thursday that Allie decided to FINALLY walk, which has made playtime so much more fun for our girls! It’s almost like Allie harnessed the ability until she knew she had it perfect, because once she started, it was like she had been walking for months!

DSCN5837

Allie has become so independent… she knows exactly what she wants, when she wants, and even knows how to do so many of the big girl sorts of things. Even such things as finding her way to the top of a big slide and going down herself!

DSCN5838

Which reminds me… I do have to enter a funny memory here:

{On Wednesday, I was on the phone with an old friend during nap-time. There was a point during our phone call where I walked up the stairs to put something away and smelled poop. “Great…” I thought to myself, “I have to change Allie’s diaper while continuing our conversation-now-turned-argument…” (Allie likes to make a lot of noise during diaper changes- especially when I put her back down for her nap- and I wasn’t looking forward to her interrupting our heated discussion.) But, not really a big deal though right? Well… I open the door and find an opened, look liked it had been peed in, diaper on the carpet. I look up to see Allie (who was facing away from me) playing in poop that was spread everywhere on the mattress and crib; it was even rubbed into the spindles. As I look around I see little chunks of little turds all around, and that’s when I saw her pacifier… It seriously had a chunk of poop stuck to it! I silently freaked out while trying to hold the phone to my ear with my shoulder, and while trying to maintain composure as I was being picked apart by someone who I thought was my friend, I grabbed Allie to throw her in the tub and that’s when I noticed that she seriously had shiz all over her mouth, nose, cheeks… even her teeth!!! G-R-O-S-S! That put an end to our conversation (well, our friendship actually… but that’s a whole ‘nother story), and oh my gosh!!! I washed that load of laundry 3 times… still to find dried pieces of undigested fecal matter that were probably cleaner than my toilet.}

Nice story huh? Smile

Malia loves that her sister can follow her around everywhere she goes now. She’s always like “Sister! Come here!” And she is so good at praising her baby sister for doing such a good job walking.

It was such a beautiful day that it was hard for us to head home, so we grabbed lunch at Muchas Gracias and had a picnic on the waterfront before heading home.

Allie was asleep in the truck… windows opened… but it was so nice just laying out and enjoying the scenery as a family.

A bit of boating…

We were on our way to the beach on Labor Day when we had a last minute change of plans. The word on the street was that traffic was super bad, and after a phone call from Dan, we decided that we couldn’t really get much closer to a beach setting than hopping on a boat only 5min away and parking it on an island! We had a lot of fun with Dan, Amy, Darren and Audra.

It was Allie’s first time with sand!

DSCN5803

After her fill of it, I think she grew tired of the grainy taste and texture.
