Sleepless in Seattle

(Wow… this is an old post now!)

We had a combo anniversary/birthday celebration in Seattle with Laura, Collette and almost Uncle David! We had an AMAZING, busy and sleepless weekend! We stayed up WAY too late Friday night playing games, laughing, and reminiscing of old times. Saturday we awoke to a beautiful day, enjoyed Auburn by drive, and went on a mini tour of Tacoma.

It was so refreshing to enjoy the crisp air and sunshine. The waterfront was beautiful!

Malia loved hanging out with her Aunties and had fun throwing rocks with almost Uncle David (Collette’s FiancĂ©).

We took Laura out for her birthday to this super fabulous restaurant called CI Shenanigans. They had great food and a spectacular view!

Afterwards we went to a fun duck pond/park where Malia got a kick out of feeding the ducks her fishies. It was crazy how they walked right up to her and ate them from her hand! (I would have had more pictures but they were all blurry from Malia happily freaking out.)

BTW… Auntie Collette gets talked about non-stop by this little girl for the ‘fun trip’ she planned!

On Saturday Aaron and I celebrated our 6th year wedding anniversary! We thought it would be fun and special to celebrate at the Space Needle. Neither of us had ever been up inside it before.

The view was spectacular!

It was fun to feel like we went out on a ‘hot’ date and even dressed for the occasion!

How romantic! (I know… sick right???)

This is my most favorite picture.

We do have to say that though the environment or atmosphere of the Space Needle was incredible, the food was NOT! I mean seriously… at $60 a plate, it better be the most amazing meal I have ever tasted in my life. Unfortunately it was not the case. But, they did sell one scoop of the ‘orbital sundae’ for $10. Wow… what a steal.

On the way home we stopped by Pikes. We LOVE people watching, the interesting gizmos, and the cheap beautiful bouquets of flowers!

We really had a fun trip! Happy Birthday Laura. Happy almost wedding Collette. And happy anniversary to US! (And a big THANK YOU to our wonderful girls for making it so easy to travel around and do fun things!)

Spring time Photo Shoot!

Malia Ku’uleikeanani

DSCN3035

3 years & 1 month

31pounds 6.4ounces – 3feet .75inches

Malia is such a joy to have around and has such a funny little personality! She really is a great toddler. We are so thankful! Most of the time she is a good listener, but she does have her moments. Some might say she is a little spoiled but, that’s Amy’s fault. Smile Just kidding… Amy (our neighbor that babysits) is such a blessing to have around and the kids LOVE and adore her. Malia loves chasing around her poor animals. Malia’s speech and vocabulary is growing at an enormous rate. She talks non-stop and is always asking ‘what are you doing?’ She is very observant. She loves playing pretend with her toys. Unfortunately she is still a toy hoarder and sharing is something we are still working on. Malia can be a little OCD when it comes to putting things away in their ‘exact’ place and order. It can be a little freaky. She does not like eating breakfast, but is becoming less and less picky (with bribery of course.) She helps herself to the fridge and pantry. Malia is still a good sleeper, she sleeps 12-hours at night and still takes 3-hour naps in the afternoon. She is fully potty trained and loves collecting stickers for waking up dry. She loves taking care of Allie and likes to help feed her. She is very good at including her and we love hearing her say “hi pretty girl!” She likes to see how cute she looks in the mirror after getting dressed. She is dressing herself and picking out her own outfits. (She is becoming more independent and demands “I do myself!") Malia is wearing 3T. She knows all of her big A,B,C’s and most of her lowercase, and also knows all of the ‘sounds’. She can read the first two books in the BOB book series. Malia has an amazing memory and never forgets a promise. She loves reading books. She loves singing to herself. Anytime we turn the radio on she grabs her tutu and starts dancing. She also loves dancing and singing with her annoying ‘music’ toys. Oh, and if Aaron is getting her dressed, she will dance with her pants. One of these days I will get a video. Malia is still a t.v. addict and right now is on a Thomas the Train kick. She sometimes speaks with an English accent because of the dumb show. But, we are amazed at the amount she pays attention to shows when she yells out answers to the questions from the characters. It’s pretty funny. We really enjoying playing with Malia, she is such a crack-up and we laugh at the funny things she says EVERY day!

I know we have said it a million times, but we LOVE having two girls! When I was pregnant with Allie we had hopes for a boy so that we could have one of each. But now, there is NO way we would trade Allie for a baby boy. Even Aaron loves being a father to a houseful of girls. We love that they each have a sister to share life with. I am sure they will have girl drama growing up, but they really do love each other. Hearing Malia talk to Allie is the sweetest thing imaginable, and the way Allie watches her big sister is so fun to experience!

Allie Kalilinoelani

DSCN3071

8 months OLD!

At her last 6mo. visit she was 16pounds 13.6ounces 26inches long and is growing huger with every passing day!

Allie’s smile is so infectious! She loves watching her big sister play and loves being the center of her attention. She withstands Malia’s roughness and gets upset if she can’t see her in the room. Allie is a super good baby. Lately she has been a little fussy, probably due to being constipated from all the new foods, but hopefully prune juice will solve the problem. Allie grunts when she is hungry. She loves food, and you can tell that by her size. She has pretty much tried everything. I like to make her baby food day to day with my new Bullet blender. Malia LOVES feeding her those little Gerber dissolvable snacks. Allie likes to stand and lean-up against furniture. Allie is super squirmy and will let you know if something is just out of her reach. She is really close to crawling, Audra (Amy’s daughter) comes home from school and works on it with her. Allie can push her self off her belly, but doesn’t have the knee bend quite yet. She can happily scoot side-side and towards the back, though sometimes I find that she can scoot herself up too when I get her out of bed in the morning. Allie sleeps from around 8:30pm to 8:00am with a feeding at 5:00am (to empty me so I can work-out). Allie has to have a special ‘feely’ blanket and her musical seahorse to sleep. She also likes to have a blanket close to her face to snuggle into. (Some mom’s might gasp at the thought.) Smile She takes 2-3 naps during the day (two of those naps can be quick: around an hour, and usually she has one good 2+ hour nap.) Sometimes the girls’ naps coordinate which is AWESOME! When I am not at work, she will breastfeed 3 times during the day, with one more feeding before bed-time. Allie wears size 4 diapers, which is crazy to believe because Malia finished in size 4 diapers before potty training. Allie is also wearing Malia’s old 12-18month clothes already too. Allie plays very well independently; she loves her play-mat and excersaucer still. When the T.V. is on, she is hooked like her sister. Allie takes a binkie only when she is super tired and fussy and getting ready to fall asleep. However, this usually only happens if we are out and about and disrupting her normal routine. Usually she can put herself down for nap and bedtimes. Oh, and we just noticed that Allie ‘bobs’ to the music, especially when Malia is dancing around. It is so cute! We love our little Allie!

I had a lot of fun taking these pictures of the girls outside my mom’s place. I have been so bad at taking ‘regular professional’ pictures of them. When Malia was a baby, we were at Flash every couple of months! Oh well… I didn’t feel like editing them all, so hopefully a collage will do!

March MADNESS!

January was a S-L-O-W start to the year for us. But NOW… It is so hard to believe that it is almost April!!! Not only that, but in a couple more months, Allie will turn ONE! Crazy huh?

Here are some random photos of a little of what we have been up to.

Getting packed up for Aaron’s snow campout. It was a little colder than expected: –6degree temperatures!

We celebrated Auntie ZZ’s bday by getting her ears pierced!

We bought a new truck! We can’t wait to take care of yard stuff on our own time (without the hassle of borrowing a truck) and can’t wait to go camping without piling our gear on top of the kids! It’s a Dodge Dakota, V8, 4x4, seats 6, has leather interior, two DVD players, a Tonneau cover… it’s super sweet!

***(picture to be posted soon)***

We cleaned out the garage to fit the truck and finally put together the picnic table that the girls got from Grandma and Grandpa Brewer for Christmas. Right now it is inside and they LOVE playing kitchen with it!

It ain’t summer yet, but that doesn’t stop us from bundling up and finding time to hang and play outside!

We spent lots of time with Nana before her big move to New York!
