We had so much fun celebrating this weekend for Miss Malia: EVERY day was a celebration… no joke! (And her birthday isn’t even until Tuesday!) The older she gets, the more animated and excited she gets, and the more she knows and understands, the more fun it is for us to watch! She was so cute in her request for pink and purple balloons, special plates, and best of all… PRESENTS!
FRIDAY
The night before we put together party favors, blew up balloons, set out Dora themed papered goods, and put up streamers and a happy birthday banner. Malia had fun getting ready. I asked:
“Malia. Are you so excited for your birthday party tomorrow?”
Malia replies: “Yes! I so excited! My friends come over for my Happy Birthday! Um, Collin… Hadley. Landon & Laelle & Charity!!! And Katie! Katie has biiggg belly! (Collin and Hadley’s mom. She is due April 1st). My friends come over to play with me and I share my toys. I big girl now. I turning fwee!”
After lots of play and yummy snacks to nibble on, it was time for the best part… the ice cream sundaes! (Malia does NOT like cake or cupcakes, and most definitely does NOT like frosting.) We scored on a bunch of valentines day mark-offs (to go with the pink/purple theme) and decorated our sundaes with lots of sprinkles and m&m’s.
“Happy birthday to Malia… Happy birthday to YOU!”
Poor, poor Allie… no ice cream for you yet! But you sure look cute!
Malia got some awesome presents from some amazing friends. You have to admit… It IS the best part of any party!
I love how you can NEVER get all the kids to look in the same direction at once. But… Malia would have to agree that it was a fun party!
SATURDAY
It was such a beautiful day Saturday that we headed out early in the morning with not a clue what to do! After running around all morning it was time for a late lunch. It just so happened that we were close to Red Robin, (Malia’s favorite… “Look Mom! The Wed Birwd!”), so why not stop in for lunch AND get Malia a free sundae while we were at it!
It was Allie’s first time in a highchair.
Malia was so shy when they came to sing, but once she was no longer the center of attention she was all smiles again! (And… lucky for us, Malia only took a couple bites of her yummy hot fudge sundae!)
SUNDAY
Malia was really excited for the family to come over and celebrate. Both girls LOVED playing with the balloons!
I guess I was a “Malia hog” with the camera because I have zero pictures of all the family who came! We had some great company, we ate yummy pizza, birthday ‘pizookies’ (an oversized, soft and gooey warm cookie with ice cream on top) and were thoroughly entertained by our animated 3yr old as she opened her presents.
“THANK YOU Nana for my new kitchen accessories!”
“THANK YOU Aunties Collette and Laura for all the fun stuff I pack away in my newest most favorite accessorizing bag!”
“THANK YOU Papa for my new singing toy!”
“THANK YOU Grandma and Grandpa for my new books!”
“THANK YOU ZZ for my new cookie monster who went to timeout for not closing his eyes!”
Being a parent can be SOOO much fun! Happy 3rd Birthday Malia! We love you!
