Seaside, OR

Saving all energy for the beach!

It was warm swimsuit weather, but too foggy to see the beach! I don't really know if that qualifies as "a great day" to go to the beach. But hey... there was no rain or wind... so it must have been a "pretty good day" to go to the beach.

Playing in the sand...
Shaking it off...

Chasing the waves...
(Look at that big cheesy grin!)

And running away!

Random Videos

A few posts ago I posted the pictures of Malia trying to put her daddy's flip flops on. Well, since then she has now begun to "walk" with big people shoes on.
Exhibit A:

I also wanted to show you, in action, Malia saying goodbye to someone. She blows kisses and waves her hand above her head. It is too cute!!!

Exhibit B:

A gift from Great Grandma and Grandpa Brewer

We couldn't pass up a perfect photo opportunity with Malia in her new dress from her great-grandparents. There are a ton of pictures, but too cute to not post!

A tender moment...

Searching for the perfect flower to pick.

I can't tell if she is smelling or blowing... the funny thing is that Malia picked a dead flower.

"Stop taking pictures of me!"

Precious...

Mommy and Malia

"Hooray! No more pictures!"

Great Grandma and Grandpa Brewer

We enjoyed having our grandparents in town over the past weekend! Thanks for visiting, and we hope to see you again soon!

Our garden is beginning to fluorish!

Farmer's Market

We don't get to go often, but we just LOVE our Farmer's Market! It was such a perfect day for fresh fruits and vegetables, for admiring unique art and flower displays, and for people watching (Aaron's favorite part).
***
We went with Aaron's cousins from Seattle, Spencer and Lisa.

Malia was just so cute and happy!

It was pretty warm, so we took Malia to the little fountain area in Esther Short Park.

Our beautiful bouquet.

The fam enjoying a day out together!

Here is a video we took later of Malia "smelling" the flowers.

Iceblocking!

A big THANK YOU to the Wishards for putting together our cheap entertainment for the weekend. For only 2$ a couple we went iceblocking! We had a blast despite the bumps and bruises, grass rashes, and whiplashed body parts.

(Malia didn't get a very good nap on this day so she was very much against Aaron and I having any sort of fun without her being clingy and present at ALL times!)

You have to watch this awesome video!

I hate "teething"...

Malia "teething" is a nightmare: sleepless nights, high fevers, inconsolable crying... it is AWFUL! However, when teething produces such a happy smile, maybe it isn't so bad as it seems.
This last teething episode was exceptionally awful since her molars are coming in. As a result, Malia wouldn't take her pacifier... we think it hurt her mouth to suck on it. We decided to run with the no pacifier thing (despite her being better from teething) and now Malia is a big girl! No more pacifier needed for nap time or bed time! Instead we just have to make sure that she has her green blankie and her penguin Mr. Louie. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be to break her from her binkie habit. It only took a few days, and about 5-7min of crying before nap and bed time. Now she goes down like regular (which is no fuss) minus the binkie! Hooray!

Brewer House Renovations

We've got Deck stairs! Thank you Andy for all of your help. We LOVE them! It sure is convenient being able to walk straight to the back instead of around the entire house. Now we can actually enjoy our beautiful back yard!

I guess I should throw in some pictures of our garden boxes. We've never gardened before, but it's a start! It seems to be moving a little slow, but just today I saw a green pepper growing! it really has been an exciting adventure.

We planted zuchinni, cucumber, bell peppers, green beans, corn, carrots, onion, green onion, lettuce, wax beans and pumpkin! We will have to keep you posted on what actually produces.

Happy Fourth of July!

Aaron, Malia and I ALWAYS look forward to the 4th of July. We have a fun parade here in town during the morning, and then the spend the rest of the day with the neighbs! It was a memorable block party here in Cedar Ridge!

Malia cooling off with an otter pop before the parade.

We usually try to get matching shirts from OldNavy as tradition, but I sadly bought Aaron a girls size XL instead of a man size XL. Oops... He didn't feel too comfortable wearing it outdoors, so we were a mismatched patriotic family. Here's some of us from the hood out to enjoy the parade!

Malia and Ava make some cute patriotic gals!

Don't you just love the sleeves rolled up look?

4th of July is known for its terrible weather... but not THIS year! It was beautiful, but way too hot! Malia enjoyed lots of pool time.

We came inside for a quick break and discovered that Malia knows where big people shoes belong... on feet!

Here's the gang outside. Thanks Steve for getting the canopy! Boy was it nice with the heat!

Handsome daddy in his mismatched shirt.

Yup... she's a poser...

...but she sure is cute!

What a great 4th of July! Can't wait till next year!

Long Luscious Locks

Malia's hair has finally reached ponytail status! It is so much fun playing with her hair... well, when she doesn't run away from me.

I thought this was a perfect series of pictures to show you what Malia does when I try to take pictures. She runs! Her favorite place to run is over these meter cover things on the sidewalk.

The night after discovering Malia's ponytail I found a pack of hair bands from Target in the $1 bin. I think they are adorable!
