Squeaks and Laughs

Madeleine discovered she can now squeal while she laughs! She's putting that skill to work while she sits up, which she's been doing for roughly three weeks now.

Along with sitting up, she has TWO teeth poking through on the bottom, of course I can't take a picture because her cow tongue is in the way. She had her 6 month appointment on Peter's birthday...any guesses on how much she weighs? 13 pounds 14 ounces...13...at her SIX MONTH appointment-that's 1 pound a month. Everything went as well as could be expected with shots and all.

Friday the three of us went to Clint and Ambrie's cabin near Koosheram- never heard of it? Yeah, neither had I! I'll post those photos later. We had a blast shooting guns, four-wheeling, and playing card games!

*Happy Easter*

Yummy Easter basket from my parents!!
For Easter, Macie took pictures of Madeleine as an Easter gift! This was the most thoughtful thing...we will miss her when she's back in California this summer. Macie has been an absolutely wonderful addition to our family and Baby couldn't be happier! Talk about great 6 month shots!

We had a great Easter yesterday; everyone came over to our place for a BBQ but Peter had to leave before we ate:-( We were busy before everyone came over playing outside and putting together patio furniture for our new "outdoor living space."

Traveling with a sick child...

As many of you know, last weekend Mark, Madeleine and I went to visit our good friend Wade who lives in the Bay area. We were fortunate enough to use his car and stay in his condo a great cost savings considering where we were visiting! Well, a few days before we left Madeleine became sick; minor case of RSV and an earache. The doctor gave us the OK to travel with her along with bubble gum tasting medicine and ear numbing drops for the plane...she said the fresh humid air would be good for her. Luckily, Madeleine is a seasoned flier so she did just fine on the flight. You can tell by looking at her pictures she's not doing so hot the first couple days. Her nose was so stuffed we had to buy a "mini dust buster" for her nose...she HATED it.

Thursday
We were in San Francisco for the day taking in the Golden Gate Bridge, Piers, Cable Cars (one of the "1001 Things to do Before You Die", eating sea food, looking out over Alcatraz (we had already been there so no need to see it again), and visiting Ghiradelli Chocolate.

Friday
Monterey Bay was beautiful! We enjoyed more sea food, the Monterey Bay Aquarium (a MUST see), 17 Mile Drive where the golf mecca Pebble Beach is located and disgustingly big homes.

Saturday
Santa Cruz is somewhere were Mark would NEVER want to live; I on the other hand, LOVED IT! Maybe it was all the hippies and free spirits, but I could really fit in with the Teva wearing, canvas bag toting people:-) I don't think Mark's "Imagine No Liberals" shirt would be a welcome sight. Saturday we took a steam train up into the Redwoods...really pretty cool!
