A couple weekends ago (i know, i've been slacking on the blog-front), it was FINALLY warm enough to go for a walk outside!!!!! Poor Luke had forgotten that there was such a thing. He was itty bitty the last time we walked around the block. Well, maybe not itty bitty, but it was so long ago, that his memory can not access those images...Anyway, it was so glorious just to be able to walk around the block and not risk getting frost bite.
YAY! We're outside!!!
Once we started walking, Luke was in heaven.
This is how he rode in his stroller the WHOLE time:
You gotta problem with this?
It wasn't long before we ran into our neighbor Katie (one of Luke's biggest fans) and her little friend (name unkown).
Luke was thrilled to have the attention of such cute older women.
He thought they were as hilarious as they were cute.
(To see the utter adorable-ness of Luke in this moment, click on this pic and make it bigger so you can see his smile. My heart is now a lump of melted goo.)
We continued on, making a stop on our route to say hello to Dakota, our friendly neighborhood dog. We are great friends with her, but have not once spoken to her owners. They are NEVER outside, but they let Dakota play in the front yard for hours at a time. She is obviously an extrovert stuck in a family of introverts. Anyway, she is the nicest dog who loves belly rubs, chewing up tennis shoes (they throw those out into the yard with her), and pulling all the stuffing out of stuffed-animal ducks and watching it fly all around the neighborhood. We love her.
Luke was very happy to be reacquainted with Dakota.
Getting a kick out of Dakota begging for a belly rub.
Enthralled. He could have watched Dakota forever.
(No need to worry. That is not the Unabomber behind my baby. That's just Phil trying to adjust the seat back to an upright and locked position.)
Lucky for Luke, as we neared our house Katie and her friend were waiting to see him one more time....and they treated him to a game of peek-a-boo---one of his FAVES!
He looks all-business here, but he really did love it. He laughed and laughed right there in the middle of the street.
Since then we've been on a few more walks and there is no longer even a trace of snow on the ground. We even went swinging today. Oh thank heaven for spring!!
