What would you do?
I would first like to say that I do not have any sort of problem with gay people. I think are great people and although have a different outlook on life than I do, I do not discriminate or judge them. So don't leave me comments about hating on gay people, because I'm not. Having said that......There are several guys that live in our complex that are gay. They are open about it and certainly not ashamed of it. Yesterday at the pool we were there and they had brought their Ipod with some very loud techno music and laying in the shallow part of the pool where all the kids would normally be playing. They had a girl with them and the three of them were talking very loudly and sharing stories. In their conversations they were swearing and using the F word constantly. There were about 15 young children playing around them and could hear every word they were saying. The girl that was with them starting telling VERY graphic sexual experiences. With men and women, using very inappropriate words for parts of the human anatomy. She didn't hold anything back and we could all hear her. They then decided to start kissing each other, first the guys kissing each other, then the guys kissing this girl. It was very graphic. I hesitated saying anything just because I knew if I did they would put up a fight saying we were "discriminating" against them for being gay. But truthfully, I don't think it's appropriate for straight couples to be talking like that and making out in front of children either! And this girl was huge! She could have killed me in one punch! So instead of getting confrontational we called the HOA and they called the cops. :) I didn't want to get directly involved. Why is it that they feel like they are allowed to do anything they want and if anyone says anything about it then WE are immediately being judgmental and discriminatory?(is that a word?) I don't want my kids around that language and behavior, ever, no matter if you're gay or straight. Their attitudes were so haughty with their loud music and taking up the whole kids area so they could lay out in their tiny speedos (which leave nothing to the imagination by the way and my kids don't need to see that either.) I just didn't like being in the position where I felt protective of my kids but also felt like I wasn't allowed to have a say in the situation. Maybe if my husband was with me I would have been braver, but I was by myself. Even though I know every other mom felt the same way I did and would have backed me up, I hate confrontations. The police were able to talk to them and notify them of their inappropriate behavior. Hopefully they don't do it again.

The boys decided to be super manly and jump in the river by Vivians Park. That water is straight up melted snow so it's REALLY COLD. But they did it and now they are men I guess. And then poor Rylie thought it would be fun to jump it too. She's a brave soul.

I love when I get funny pictures of babies. They make the funniest faces and capturing them is hard sometimes, we just so hapen to be on a roll today. The picture below is of her doing her scream laugh, yes she's laughing, not crying, which is why it's so funny.

Apple Pie
I am not much of a baker, actually, I hate baking, I always screw it up. But I found this recipe and tried it and it was surprisingly easy and very very good. It's all from scratch. I've had several people ask for the recipe and how to do it, so here it is. I've always been told that making pie crust from scratch it very difficult, but his recipe is fool proof, trust me, I did it so it's got to be easy. It's super flakey and yummy. And baking this pie will fill your house with an awsome cinnamon and clove smell thats to die for!!
Crust-
2 1/2 C flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 C butter (2 sticks) chilled and cut into small pieces
1/4 to 1/2 C ICE cold water
In a food processor or kitchen aid combine flour, salt, and sugar. Add butter pieces and process until the mixture resembles coarse meal. While machine running, add ice water until dough holds together without being wet or sticky, do not over process! Devide dough into 2 balls and flatten into disks and store in fridge to chill for 1 hour.
Apple mixture-
10 granny smith apples, peeled, cored and sliced
3/4 C sugar
Zest and juice of 1 lemon (I just used store bought lemon juice)
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
pinch ground cloves
2 Tbs butter
1 egg beaten
2 Tbp flour
Combine apples, flour, sugar, lemon juice, and spices. Toss well.
Take chilled dough out of fridge and roll into circle that will fit generously in your pie pan. Fill with apples and dot with butter. It may seem like you're putting way to many apples in but they will cook down and fit perfectly. If the dough gets to soft and hard to work with, just put in back in the fridge for 10 min and it will harden up perfectly.
Roll second ball of dough out and cover apples. USe clean kitchen scissors to cut off excess dough, leaving a half inch to crimp.
Fold dough UNDER all around
Use your fingers to crimp edges
Brush on beaten egg mixture and sprinkle with sugar around the egdes. Cut a smill hole in the top to vent
Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 1 hour and it will cook perfectly!

bangs
From Recently Updated |
I just get bored with my hair. All. The. Time. I love changing it. I've done the bangs before, but decided to revive the look due to my hair loss situation. It does a great job disguising the bald spot on the sides of my head. I was talking with a friend the other day about going blond....I've never done it before and have no idea how it would look...I've done black, red, hot pink, and had blond highlights, but never blond. I'm totally scared to do it and probably won't but once in my life I WILL be blond. That's a fact.

Cardio? How about cardi-NO!
I have putting off the inevitable for almost 4 months.....the post baby work out routine. I have been doing some weight training but I literally have not done a real cardio workout since before I got pregnant with Olivia. First I was so sick, then the baby was hurting my crotch to bad to even walk, then I was on bed rest, then she was born, so there was no time to even try and work out. I've been wanting start jogging, but I don't even have time to take showers anymore, let alone, an hour to go jogging. So this morning I thought I would try and see if I could do a simple kick boxing workout and see how I did. Uhhhhh, about 10 minutes into the workout my lungs were burning so bad and I thought I was gonna puke. I could only do half of the workout! I had to stop because my quads were shaking so bad. Wow, I am so out of shape. I have a long way to go! I knew this would happen which is why I've been putting it off for so long. But it's all about baby steps.....small, tiny baby steps. I'll do just 5 minutes more every time I work out and hopefully get to the point where I can finish and actually feel good instead of wanting to die. Who wants to bet that tomorrow morning my legs are going to be so sore I won't even be able to walk???? I'll put $5 on that. And all from a 15 minute workout! So sad.

I got a full on belly laugh from her today! She's been smiling for a while but I haven't been able to get her to laugh...but today I guess I was funny enough! That's true happiness right there, hearing little babies laugh, I love it! She is SUCH a sweetheart....when she's not crying. She's getting this little personality and it's so fun to watch her change almost daily. She sleeps like a champ, she goes down at 7pm and sleeps til 7am and then eats and then goes back to sleep til 10. So I'm loving that! She doesn't really like to take naps during the day, it's kinda sporadic, mostly because my kids are so loud and wake her up, but I would rather have her sleeping better at night then during the day so I'm still grateful. She still has to be held all the time and still hates her car seat and swing. She screams every time we're in the car and won't stop till I take her out of her car seat and hold her. My arms are seriously getting ripped....no joke. She starting be a little thumb sucker! Which I love! My other kids are thumb suckers and I totally prefer that to binkys. They can find it themselves and put themselves back to sleep. It's just tricky to get them to stop doing it when the time comes....oh well, we have a few years to worry about that. The picture below is her sucking her thumb. It melts my heart! She hates the bottle and only nurses, which I'm fine with except for when I have to come home halfway between my date and feed her. But I finally figured out nursing which was one of my goals for this year so I'm really excited about that! I basically changed everything I thought I knew about it and it worked out! We get to start rice cereal in a few weeks but I don't want to...it means she's getting older! She's fat enough, I'm sure we could hold off on that and she would be fine. She barely fits in 3-6 month clothes which are getting tight and fits into some 9 month clothes, but she has size 0 feet. She literally has the fattest legs and tiniest feet I've ever seen. I held up her feet to a friend of mines baby who was just born and they were the same size. She doesn't even fit into the newborn shoes I have, they are to big! I got so many cute little newborn flip flops and she won't even get to wear them this summer!
