21st Oct - Sketch

It is the second challenge of the month, which can only mean one thing, it's time for another sketch! Valerie has made this sketch from a lovely layout Tessa made for a previous challenge.
Here are the design team's creations!

Anna
I kept quite close to the sketch, just changed the hearts for circles. This is my cute little
nephew pretending to be a doctor!

Daphne

When my friend was visiting me in the UK a few weeks ago we drove to the coast. KC is one of those girls who HAS to put her feet into the water - no mater how cold it might be! So brave! I wouldn't have done that even in summer! Instead I took lots of pictures of her enjoying the coldness and cut the pics down to squares to fit with Val's sketch!

Emi

I just love Val's sketches. All elements fits together.
And they are also very inspiring!
Scrapping is very easy with her!

Kat

And a close-up:

I loved Tessa's original layout so much, that I actually stuck pretty close to the sketch.  Why should I mess with a good thing?  :o)

Katherine

The title came from a free silhouette die cut and the page grew from that - with one of my bursts of sunshine in the centre :)

Kim

Jules

Here's my take on the sketch - I swapped the hearts for a tag and a wood veneer circle, but other than that I think I stuck fairly closely to the sketch. I love this one so much I think I'll be using it again!

Petra

I just discovered that I can use the distresses on masks - yes I know I am very late discovering this ... been misting and using acrylic paint up to now - and I just love the effect. Here I used 3 different masks and distresses. the big hearts I converted into many small. The pictures are of my crazy cute kids that love to be face painted... they have very specific demands on exactly what the face paint should look like and then they start some sort of roll-play being the new creatures.

Tessa
I discovered that scraplifting yourself is not an easy task. To get over my creative block, I decided to stay true to a few elements and then have fun with the rest. Giving myself a little freedom was all it took to bring it together.

Valerie
I loved Tessa's page so much I did not deviate very far from the sketch. I did replace the heart shapes layered beneath the photos with some more rectilinear layers.

I even used one of Tessa's hand made flowers to complete my page!

We also have a couple of layouts from the Teresa Collins DT to share with you...

Don't forget if you enter this month you could be in with a chance of winning a great prize from Teresa Collins!

Can't wait to see what you do with this sketch, happy Scrapping!

7th Oct - Family

A new month means a new challenge so today Amanda has set us all this challenge: The meaning of family. Create a page based around what family means to you. Who do you consider to be your family? Do you have a humorous family anecdote to scrap? Get creative :)
As well as the design team, we are lucky to have extra inspiration this month too as some of the Teresa Collins design team have joined us and we also have a great prize from Teresa Collins up for grabs for this months challenges too!

Amanda
I decided to document one of my favourite wedding memories for this challenge. The title is "Family means... a little bit of healthy competition" and it refers to the duck race we had on the river with little rubber duckies dressed in formal attire ;).

I used the Teresa Collins Vintage Finds collection to create my page. Love this collection!

Anna

It's become a family tradition is the last few years that we all go on a family picnic once a year. We all take different things to eat to share with everyone so we end up with a great spread!

Daphne

I always wanted to have a chicken... a chicken? Yes! Meet Daphne - our new family member! Daphne lives not with us, but at Kingston Lacy (Dorset, UK) with eight other funny feathery friends! She was named after my suggestion I put in a Naming Competition box. So every weekend now she will be visited by the "real" Daphne (me) - that is the least I can do for a new member of our family!

Emi

Family means a lot for me!
But when I'm thinking about family,
I see my lovely MOM.
She's my number one!

Jules
As soon as I saw the 'humorous family anecdote' part of this challenge, I knew exactly what I was going to scrap. When my sisters and I were little, we spent our summer holidays as a family in France. This particular photo was taken on the beach at Saint-Jean-de-Monts, where we became fascinated by a jellyfish that had washed up on shore. The three of us were gathered round, leaning over it when my Dad's voice came from behind...'you do know jellyfish can jump?' I don't think any of us have run so far, so fast since!

Kat
For my layout, I decided to focus on the fact that I added 4 amazing people to my family the day my husband and I got married.  I love my husband's parents and sister and was so glad that I was able to officially count them as part of my family.  To highlight what a happy occasion it was for me, I used a ton of bright colors.

Katherine
We don't tend to have loads of family photos taken, but we did manage one on our holiday - the holiday was our dream family holiday - we went to Florida and all had a fantastic time, so I wanted to document that in the journalling.  I used some texture paste, mists and sequins, sandwiching my title in the middle.

Kim

Petra
This is my family; 2 parents and 3 kids. It is not well styled studio photos. It is catch the moments whimsy, crazy, everyday moments together like this summer car trip to the beach. I wanted to create a page that reflected this.

I used the Tell your story collection from Teresa Collins mixed with Pink Paislees mistables, Twine and You Do tape. I used the TC Stamp maker to make the title stamp with one of Teresas Collins frames and my own text.

Tessa
My family is my life, but I have an extra special connection to my sisters. People comment all the time about our tight bond, and how they wish they shared a relationship like that with their sisters. I feel blessed to have these girls in my life. We love doing things together, especially with our mom, like the bridal shower we recently threw my baby sister.

Valerie
For me, family is all about the 3 people on this page with me:

Thanks to Cheri, Stacy, Yvonne and Rachel for joining in with us for this challenge, they really created some beautiful projects!

What does family mean to you? We would love to see what you came up with for this challenge so please link your creations up for a chance at winning a great prize from Teresa Collins!
