Pittsburg, PA

While in Latrobe for the training camp, we decided to spend a day in Pittsburg. It wasn't at all what I expected. The city is kept very clean and there's tons of water. I don't know why that never occured to me. We went on a duck tour, during which they let Andy drive the boat. She loved it. We also ate at the famous "Primati Brothers". It was like no sandwich I've ever eaten. It was a just a pastromi, but there coleslaw and fries come on every sandwich. After that, we walked down the strip district for some shopping. We'll definately go back for a weekend sometime, maybe for a football or baseball game.

Steeler's Training Camp, Latrobe, PA

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GREG!!!! For Greg's birthday we went to the Steeler's training camp. The drive took us 4 hours and was beautiful. We left Friday after Greg's work and made it to the high school there for a scrimage game. Just before the game we got Hines Ward's autograph and then took pictures of the 6 Super Bowl trophies. The practices the following days were fun to watch. We brought our chairs and blanket and camped out on the hill, watching them run trick plays and all sorts of stuff. After practice everyday they hang out to sign autographs. This was Syd and Andy's favorite part. They would hand thier football to the players and ask them to sign. When the players passed by, though, they'd cry because they wouldn't stop to talk. Andy even yelled at a player for not saying "your welcome" after she thanked him for signing. We had a lot of fun.

4th of July in Boston

This summer we're doing several small trips instead of one big one. We decided to spend the 4th in Boston. I hadn't been back since Greg proposed, and couldn't wait to show the kids my favorite places. This trip we were lucky to have Audrey join us. She never visited when I lived there, so I got to give her the city tour too. Now that I've been back, I just want to move there again. Hopefully the girls will attend Harvard or MIT so that I can go more often :) The girls both loved Frog Pond, Syd loved taking the subway everywhere. She still tells me daily that she wants to go on a train ride, and also wonders when we're going back to Boston because it's her favorite city in the whole world. Andy still talks about how beautiful the fireworks were...and although Syd had a rough start with them, she warmed up after a while. We had a blast. I can't wait to visit again!

Happy Father's Day!!!!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! Today we celebrated Greg. He got a new watch and tie, cinnamon rolls, meatloaf and mashed potatoes, and banana cream pie. He also watched several hours of golf and didn't have to lift a finger for the kids or clean-up. This is definately his favorite day of the year.

Cooking

Syd and Andy love to cook. They are at the point now where they have to do all the mixing by themselves. This time they happen to be wearing the tutus that Grandma Cindy made during her last visit. Basically, it was their perfect day...dancing and baking.

The National ZOO

The National Zoo is always a great place to go...it's free, and now that we have a parking pass we will be going much more often. Most recently, we met up with a bunch of friends and spent the day hanging out and picnicing. Syd's favorite was the lion, Andy liked the monkeys, and I liked that we had a day out of the house since there has been so much rain.

Happy 4th Birthday Sydney!

Against my will, Syd got to have a princess party for her 4th birthday. All her friends came dressed to impress, and thank goodness Grandma Cindy was there to help out. We played games, danced, painted nails, colored, and everything else we could think of to entertain our little princesses, and prince Carson :) It was a bit much for me, but Syd was in heaven!

The Outer Banks, North Carolina

This April, we were lucky enough to be invited by our friends, the Deans, to spend some time at their parent's beach house in North Carolina. Since I wasn't allowed to travel to a beach last summer (pregnant with William), or the year before (pregnant with Andy), this was Syd's first time there. She was asking us to take her from the moment she could speak, and now that she's been, she continues to ask when the next beach trip will be. We were able to spend a few days on the beach, then went driving around town and saw the house that "Nights in Rodanthe" was filmed at, saw surfers, kite surfers, went to the aquarium, and found tons of shells. We had a blast and can't wait to return sometime.

Happy Easter

Easter Sunday was beautiful here. It was a little cold and windy in the morning, but late afternoon was perfect for our Easter festivities. We had friends over for an egg hunt, then while the kids ate candy we had an egg toss (thanks to allen family tradition). After the games we had ham and potatoes for dinner. Thanks to the Kellers, Loveridges, Arps, Christensens, and Amy Krieger, the party was fun and memorable.

SNOW IN MARCH?!!

We had quite a snow storm last night/this morning. Thankfully, our neighbor has a snow blower to help Greg with the driveway. The girls can't wait for some sledding :)

Super Bowl XLIII

Sorry pics from the party are so late....we had a blast. Thank goodness it was a good game, or I wouldn't have made it through. We had BBQ Chicken and BBQ Beef Sandwiches, 7-layer dip, salsa, egg rolls, cupcakes, chips and dip...basically everything that's not good for you. Greg and I made Syd and Andy game shirts, and everyone left with their own superbowl ring :) We can't wait til next year!!

Pictures!!!

My friend Amy came over to take some pics of the kids. Syd proved to be the most difficult person to photograph ever! William, of course, was by far the easiest. I'm glad we got them done. Thanks Amy!

Finally SNOW!!!

The girls have been asking every day that we've been back out east when they can play in the snow...and after a month of a few random snow showers that never stuck, we finally had a good snowstorm. They both love making snow angels and playing with snowballs, and this year they got to sled down the hills in the front and back yard. They absolutely loved it! There was actually too much snow and I couldn't make it up our driveway so I had to spend a good couple of hours shoveling and salting because we are on such a slope, but watching the girls play was worth it.

Martha Stewart LIVE

For Christmas Greg got me tickets to watch the taping of Martha Stewart in NYC. Thanks to our great friends, we were able to leave the kids overnight with them and head up for a day. The set was amazing and watching how it works behind the scenes was way cool. We were seated on the floor in the front row about 10 feet from where all the action is. Martha lived up to her reputation of being a bit abrasive, but both of us would definately go again. After the show, we walked through chinatown and went to lunch and that was about it...a whirlwind trip and worth it.

GO STEELERS!!

As most of you know, Greg is a die hard Steelers fan. These pics of us are from a couple of weeks ago watching the AFC championship game. Although we are from AZ, Greg will still be cheering on his team...along with the kids. Syd and Andy know to yell "GO STEELERS" whenever a football game is on.

William is 3 Months Old!!!

I can't believe that he's three months old already. He is still the best behaved baby I've ever seen. He is sleeping great. He goes down at 9:30pm and wakes only once around 5:00am to eat and goes right back to bed. I am hoping that he'll sleep through completely in another week or so.

Grandma's Jacuzzi

The girls got to take a bath in grandma's jacuzzi tub. They threw a huge fit at first and screamed for about 15 minutes, until they realized how fun it was. Now they want to take a bath in it every night.
