Happy Moooooo-nday!

Mornin' hens! I thought you might like some more inspiration for those of you who haven't submitted your TKT entries yet! Isn't this card great? Man, I'm LOVIN' those cows! They're part of a set called Chubby Chums from Paper Smooches. Remember me tellin ya that I was only seconds from subscribing to her monthly club? Well, guess what? Yup, I took the plunge! I LOVE her images so much I just couldn't resist. So you hens will be seein' a lot more of them in the future.
Ok, now onto today's card. Seriously, this card was super simple. Hmmm, simple and adorable?Ok, ya can't beat that! I stamped the image five times onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored their little noses with my Copics. Then I punched some grass and a fence with my MS border punches. I ran the Kraft CS through my printer for the sentiment and then glued all the elements down. I finished with some gingham ribbon across the bottom and some Glossy Accents on their eyes. Whadaya think? Moooooo-velous, right? LOVE it!

Okee dokee, now it's your turn! You've still got plenty of time to play along in my That's Krafty Thursday challenge. The deadline isn't until 7:00pm EST on Wednesday, so let's get on the moooooooove! LOL! I can't wait to see your KRAFTY entries! {{{hen hugs}}}

Recipe Swap "In Print"

Hiya hens! Havin' a good weekend are ya? Well I've been sitting' in the hen house playin' today, so you know I'm havin a good one! Tee-hee! Today's card is part of the Quick Fire round over at Catered Crop and this week's FEATURED INGREDIENT is PRINT! As luck would have it, one of the designs in my new little paper pack from My Minds Eye looks just like a newsprint too. Woo-hoo! How perfect is that? I've been itching to make one of these paper flowers, so I decided I was gonna give it a go today with some of this newsprint DP. Not sure if I did it exactly how I remembered seeing it, but I think it's cute! This little image is called Cupcake Ruby from Ladybug Crafts Ink. Isn't she pretty? Now I must admit, when Kerry first asked me to be a guest designer for her, I said "Oooooh, I LOVE Magnum & Lily!" cuz you hens know I LOVEEEEE funny! But she wanted me to give Ruby a try too, so I said, "Ummmmm, I don't know Kerry... I can't do PRETTY!" She was like, "come on, give it a try!" Ok, so now I'm hoping you hens will tell me I did OK with PRETTY!

Here's the card details: First I started by cutting out four 2.5" scalloped circles from the newsprint DP using my Nestabilities. I crumpled them up and added some distress ink to the wrinkles. Then I sprayed them with some Shimmer Mist and let them dry. Next, I added a glob of white glue to the center of each and then pinched the centers as I stacked them on top of each other. I finished by adding a coordinating circle of DP and pearl brad to the center and set the flower aside to dry. I stamped my image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics. I added some sparkle to the image with my Gelly Roll metallic pen but I'm not sure if you can see that in the photo. It's SUPER pretty IRL. I cut her out with my scalloped oval Nestabilities and sponged some chalk ink around the edges. Here's a tutorial on that technique if you've never seen it done. As for the design, I followed the Viva La Verve sketch here. I've seen several hens use this design this week and I just LOVED it!

Well that's it! Now it's your turn to hop on over to the Catered Crop and give it a go yourself. Linda has tons more inspiration to get your MOJO up an running! Okee dokee hens, that's it for me today! I hope you all have a great rest of your weekend and I'll see ya back in the hen house real soon. Don't forget, you've still got 4 more days to enter my That's Krafty Thursday challenge! YOU just might be the new KRAFTY CHICK! Awwwwkkkkkk! {{{hen hugs}}}

That's Krafty Thursday #57

It's THAT time again!! Ready to play along in another That's Krafty Thursday challenge? Woo-hoo! I know yer just itchin' to get that Kraft Cardstock out aren't ya? Well, let's get to it and to start things off, here's some inspiration for ya! Woo-hoo!

This here's a little card I made for the Lil' Chick! I'm a little late with it but I don't think she'll mind. Have I told you how much I WUV my Lil' Chick? She's the BESTEST Lil' Chick in the whole wide world. I could not be more PROUD of her. Let me tell you what she did for Christmas. Well, my parents are getting older (aren't we all?) and my Mom has always been like the hub of our family wheel, but Christmas shopping is getting more difficult each year for her, so the Lil' Chick takes it upon herself to do ALL her shopping for her. Now, this is in addition to ALL her own Christmas shopping too. So, she goes around to ALL my family (and mind you it's pretty large) and asks each person what they wanted. She compiles the list and starts shopping. Then she takes my mother on a day outing and buys a few little items with her and they eat lunch together. Then she takes the items she bought that day, along with ALL the other stuff she already bought for everyone else, and labels each item so my Mom knows who they go to. She did the same thing for Christmas dinner. She coordinated the whole thing on who needed to bring what so my Mom wouldn't be overwhelmed with Christmas dinner. Now, it may not sound like it, but this was a HUGE undertaking. She worked on this from Thanksgiving forward and made sure she stayed within budget for each person too. I get all teary eyed just thinking about it, because I think that was just the sweetest thing to do. So I decided to make her a THANK YOU card from ALL OF US!

Ok-ok, enough proud Momma stories. Tee-hee! You hens ready to play along in my challenge? Come on, it's fun! Here's the RULES OF THE ROOST: Make a card and use Kraft colored card stock on it some where. That's it! Easy peasy! Submit your card below by February 1st at 7:00PM EST and I'll announce my TOP CHICK PICKS the following day on February 2nd. Just think, YOU could be the next KRAFTY CHICK! Ready, set, GO!!!!

How MICE of you!

Tee-hee! Isn't this a sweet image? I have had this image for.... well a LONG time! I can't even remember buying it! This is Millie the Mouse from My Favorite Things. I finally decided to use it today as a Thank You card for a special Christmas gift I received. And I found this cute sentiment in my stash that goes perfectly with it. It's from an older CHF (Kim Hughes) collection so I don't think it's available anymore, but Kim has her own company now and it's da bomb! The company is called Paper Smooches and I just LOVE her style. I think I'm only one second away from becoming a monthly subscriber. *SIGH * I know, like I need more stamps! But I do - I do!! Tee-hee!
I stamped the image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics. I matted her with alternating pink and brown CS and then adhered her to this cute DP from My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose collection. The brads weren't the right color so I colored them with my Copics! And ta-da!! A perfect match! To finish, I added a little shine to the bow on her tail with some Glossy Accents and colored a few of the letter in the sentiment to match. How Mice!! LOL! Have a Tee-Rif-Fic Tuesday! {{{hen hugs}}}

Stamps - My Favorite Things, Kim Hughes; CS - SU Early Expresso, Pink and Neenah Classic Crest White; DP - My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose; Glossy Accents; Copics, Brads; Circle Punches - EK Success

Worm Wishes!!!

Eeeeeeeeek! Ok, I normally HATE worms, but I do have to admit, this little guy is SUPER CUTE! Tee-hee! Check out his little pom-pom on his birthday hat! (snort) Ever seen a worm with a birthday hat on before? Me neither, but he sure does make me giggle! This little guy is just one of the super cute images in the Birthday Buddies set from Paper Smooches.

I started by stamping my little guy onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored him with my Copics. I stamped a skinny oval on the DP with some Distress Ink and then cut my little guy out and adhered him on top of the oval with several dimensionals. I added his little pom-pom and applied some Glossy Accents to his eyes. I added the sentiment with a few brads and tied some jute twine around the base for a little added interest. SUPER funny but OH SO CUTE! Okee dokee hens, that's it for me today. I hope you have a GREAT rest of your day! {{{hen hugs}}}

Mornin' hens! Well, the Catered Crop DT is back at it again and we're startin' this year off with a BANG! Linda has tweaked the FTR challenge and made it super easy for you hens to play along with us. So, how do you play? Well, here's how simple it is.... You only need to use the "featured ingredient" of the week on your project. That's it! Now it doesn't get any easier than that. This week's featured ingredient is none other than BUTTONS!! Oh and did I mention there are PRIZES? Uh-huh! This week's prize is, not one but TWO, super cute images from Jellypark. Hot Diggity Dog! Ready to play? Heeeeere we go..... Button, button who's got a button? Tee-hee!

My little card today is another guy card, I seem to have a lot of those lately, which incidently are perfect for buttons (since guys don't like any of that frilly-ribbon-prissy sorta thing). This is Cecil, from JustInkLined. I made this card for my BIL and believe it or not, he still likes me! LOL! Isn't that button cool? I just love those little stripes. Did ya notice the hair on his legs! Looks like mine! Bwah-ha-ha-ha! Oh-oh, and here's the inside.....
Ain't it great?? Ok, now it's your turn. Be sure to get your project linked up over at the Catered Crop by 8PM EST on January 21st so you can be sure to be entered for a chance to win those super cute images! Good Cluck!

...and here's the #2 card (literally)!!

Bwah-ha-ha-ha! Now tell me this isn't the perfect card for your brother? Right? My mom asked me to make him a card for her to give him so this is what I came up with. Pffft! My Mom is like, "not from me!" Eh, too bad! I just can't make nice cards for a guy, especially my brother! Have I ever told you how many times he use to sit on me when we were little and breathe his horrible morning breath in my FACE?? And I couldn't get up! What a meanie! Well, it's payback time bro! So there!! Hmmmph! Now you have to admit, this card is great, right? {snort} This is a Whipper Snapper Designs image that I've had forever! It's SO me! Tee-hee!

Happy Birthday Bobby!

Morning' hens!! Did you all have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's Day? More importantly, did you MISS me? Tee-hee! I took a little time off to enjoy the holidays and it was so nice. Ah-hem, not being away from the hens, but the time off, that is. {snort!} Before I get to today's card, I just HAVE to tell you what Santa brought me... ready??? FLOYD! What's that? You don't know who Floyd is? Ok, that's understandable since some of you hens haven't been with me all that long. You see, last year for Christmas, Santa brought me Maxine (my iMac), so this year he brought me Floyd (my iPad2). And oh boy, am I ever lovin' Floyd! You hens do know who Maxine & Floyd are don't you? They're the Shoebox Greeting characters by Hallmark. I so LOVE Maxine! She's such a hoot! Her dog's name is Floyd! Tee-hee! I know, I have a twisted sense of humor! Ok, so now my Christmas tree is down and the house is all back to normal, that means it's time to get back to business right? Well first up on the agenda is my brother's birthday, which BTW is TODAY! Happy Birthday Bobby! And I made this little gem for him! Isn't it great? WOWZER!! I love this card! My brother is also a pilot so I thought this little Flying' Ace from High Hopes Stamps would be the perfect fit for him! I know he'll love it! My SIL has this bulletin board in her kitchen that's called the "Jeanie" board, and it has All my cards on it that I've made for them! Did I mention I LOVE my SIL? Mwah! LOL!
Ok, well that's it from the hen house today! I'm headed to my brother's house for a BBQ and some YUMMY birthday cake! "smack" I hope you hens have a wonderful weekend! {{{hen hugs}}}

Santa Claus is coming to town!

Mornin' hens! Are you hens as pooped as me? I don't know about you, but Christmas always seems to sneak up on me! Why is that? Well it certainly isn't like I don't know the date, but I have to say, once Halloween passes, it's like POOF! - Christmas!! Well, if this sounds familiar, I bet your Christmas cards never seem to turn out the way you'd planned, right? Yup, that's me! I have all these great ideas and then I'm so pressed for time, I can't do the cards the way I wanted. Are you hens all nodding' your heads? Ok then, The Spotted Chick comes to the rescue!!!
Here's a little card I made in mass quantities. Now, I'll be the first to tell you, I usually hate to mass produce cards, but for this time of year, it's the ONLY way to go!! LOL! So here's how to make this little cutie! First, cut your SU Real Red cardstock in 8.5 x 4.25 and then score and fold them in half to make a 4.25 square. Using your largest scalloped Nestie, cut through both pieces of the folded card stock making sure you leave 2 scallops partially outside of the die on the fold line. This will allow the two scalloped circles to remain attached. Then cut 4 smaller regular circles from your Nesties in alternating SU Very Vanilla, Real Red and some Christmas DP. I actually decided to emboss the smallest circle to add a little texture behind Santa's face. I cut multiple Santa heads from white, SU Real Red and some flesh colored card stock and then added some shading to each with my Copics. I added some shimmer to the white with some sheer shimmer spritz. Once dry, I assembled all the Santa heads.

Once you have all your pieces cut, it's time to put the whole card together. First, glue the cream circle to the front. Now take some ribbon and fold it in half to make a hanging loop. Glue it down on top of the cream circle and continue adding the remaining circles on top. Lastly, add Santa with a few dimensionals and add a bow at the base of the ribbon. That's it! Honestly, once you get all the pieces cut, the assembly process goes rather fast. I printed a bunch of the greetings for the inside and cut them out with the same circle Nestie I used for the front. Ok, well I hope this helps you with some of your own Christmas cards and of course that PINCH for time!
Don't forget, you still have today and tomorrow to enter my That's Krafty Thursday challenge. Have you seen all the fabulous entries???? I see another LOOOOONG night in my future!! Tee-hee! Have a Tee-rific Tuesday!! {{{hen hugs}}}

It's another DUDE!!

Mornin' hens!! Can you believe it, ANOTHER DUDE!! Tee-hee!! I couldn't resist resist using SUPER TROOPER TRIPP from Dude Time Doodles for my BIL's birthday card. Shooowee, ain't he a CUTIE?? Look at them arms!!! *swoooon* I even gave him a little 5 o'clock shadow too! LOL! My kinda man!! I printed the digital image onto some Neenah Classic Crest card stock and colored him with my Copics. I stitched the image panel to some SU Basic Black card stock and then adhered him to this great DP from Cosmo Cricket's Joy Ride collection. I printed the computer generated sentiment inside a speech bubble and attached it with a few pop dots.

Here's the inside: snort!

To finish, I punched a small hole in the image panel and threaded some stitched ribbon through for a cool "highway" look. LOL! Now, I'm off to the mall cuz it's BLACK FRIDAY! Woo-hoo!! Maybe I'll get lucky and SUPER TROOPER TRIPP will pull me over!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and the number one thing we do on Thanksgiving is - EAT!! Yup, that's right, I'm gonna be busy EATIN'!! Oh, and not just a little, nosiree, we eat a bunch!! Did I mention this is one of my favorite holidays? LOL! Uh-huh, this hen LOVES to eat! The main entree at Thanksgiving is of course, the TURKEY! Yum!! Me love me some turkey. Hmmm, a hen eatin' a turkey???? That's kinda like being a cannibal though isn't it? Eweeee, maybe I better give that some more thought. *snort* Ok, enough of my silliness, onto today's card. Which needless to say, is all about Thanksgiving. Meet Heath Hunter! Heath Hunter is one of Dude Time Doodles newer images and I just LOVE him to bits. Ain't he a catch? Bwah-ha-ha-ha! Check out those teeth! Pfffft! Ooh-ooh, and here's the best part.....

The inside: Tee-hee! Ain't it a hoot??

Did I mention that I'm in the SPOTLIGHT today over at the Dude Time Doodles blog?? Yay!! I was so exited when Tammy asked me to be their spotlight designer. Yippee-skippee! So I thought, what better time to start a new That's Krafty Thursday challenge!! Right? Now you hens know the drill, but for all the new hens just visiting the hen house for the first time, well shuck your shoes and put your little hen feet up and sit a spell. Happy Birthday Ryan!

Mornin' hens! This little card is for my nephew Ryan. He turned a whoppin' 7 years old last Thursday. He plays a little Bball with his church so I thought I'd personalize a card just for him. After some searching, I finally found this image over at Digi My World. It came as part of a set but I loved the image and felt it was perfect for Ryan. The colors of his team are Gold and Blue so I colored the image to match. This DP is from an older Sassafras Lass paper pack and I just used my Cuttlebug embossing folder on some rust colored card stock to make the textured panel behind the image. Hopefully, it resembles a basketball! LOL! Okee dokee, that's it for me today. I hope you hens all have a wonderful Monday! {{{hen hugs}}}

So "Beary" sweet!

Mornin' hens! Isn't this card CUTE? How could you not fall for this cute little guy? Makes me wanna {{squeeze}} him! Tee-hee!
I made this card for a friend who needed a card for a baby shower. The mother is expecting a BOY and her theme is Bears. Isn't this the perfect image? I just love it when a plan comes together! Yay!
Ok, I stamped the image from the "Baby Baby" set from Ladybug Crafts Ink onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored him with my Copics. I cut the image out with my Nesties and sponged some chalk ink around the edges. I popped the image up with a few dimensionals and tied this coordinating ribbon around the panel. I stitched around all the panel edges and added the Baby Boy's name below the ribbon in the shape of a banner. I can smell the BABY POWDER now! *sniff-sniff*

Today's card is also a MID-WEEK reminder for my That's Krafty Thursday challenge. The challenge doesn't close until November 9th at 7:oopm EST, so you've still got plenty of time to play along. Just make any ol' project using some Kraft colored card stock, then link your project below on my That's Krafty Thursday post. This is for my Lil' Chicks fella, AGAIN..... Yup, this is his THIRD card!! Lil' Chick say's, "don't worry Mom, he's savin' all of 'em!" Good boy! *snort* Anyhoo, he just closed on a townhouse and I wanted to send him a CONGRATULATIONS card. So I thought this image would be PERFECT! The inside reads, "Congratulations on "scoring" your new home!"
Great huh? This image, called "Penalty Pete" is from DudeTime Doodles. I think he's FAB and can think of several occasions to use him for! Ok, so I printed the image onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored him with my Copics. I stitched the image to some SU Chocolate Chip and then adhered it to this DP from My Minds Eye. Woo-hoo!!

Now to git you hens in a KRAFTY mood, here's a little somethin' that I whipped up for my niece. This is "Chicken's Balloons" from Whipper Snapper Designs. I just LOVE all their chicken images. Seriously, I could spend my paycheck in a flash if I was to stay there long enough. Siggghhhh.... I stamped this little gal onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored her with my Copics. I stitched her to some scrap brown CS and then made a couple of cuts on either side of her balloon so I could thread the ribbon around the panel. Then I adhered the image panel with a couple of dimensionals, to this DP from MME's Odds and Ends collection, and there ya have it! Super simple and I LOVE it!! Goo Goo for U!

Mornin' hens! I know, you've probably been wondering where'd that Spotted Chick get off to, huh? Well, the DH and I "flew the coop" and took a little VACATION! Yup, we sure did and boy did we have a blast! We've been "on the go" for the past two weeks but each day had it's scheduled NAP too! Tee-hee! Uh-huh, I'm practicing to be the PERFECT "retiree"! *snort*

Ok, so even during my busy time off, I was thinking about the hens (really - I was!), so I managed to fit in a few hours of crafting too. So here's a little card I made for my Lil' Chick's good friend who is expecting her first baby. Just a congratulations card for her BIG news! This is a set I've had for quite some time now. It's a Kim Hughes set from Cornish Heritage Farms. They're no longer in business but Kim has started her own business now, Paper Smooches. I just LOVE her style and her handwriting is the CUTEST ever! Be sure to stop by and check out her SUPER CUTE sets.

For my card, I stamped the stork onto some Neenah Classic Crest CS and colored it with my Copics. I stitched the image to some SU Basic Black CS and adhered it to this older October Afternoon DP called "Ducks in a Row". I love the soft colors in this pack. The flower embellishment was done using the My Favorite Things rolled rose die-namics. I thought it added such a sweet and soft touch to this card. To finish, I added some glitter to the stork's sack and then added the sentiment with a few of the letters colored in with my Copics. So SOFT & SWEET! Have a GOO GOO GREAT day! {{{hen hugs}}}

Guess where I've been? Well, I just got back from a cruise to the Bahamas. It was just a GIRL cruise with the Lil' Chick, my Ma, my Sis, SIL and a good friend of hers. What a GREAT time we all had. I gained FIVE - uh huh - FIVE POUNDS!! And I enjoyed every minute (make that bite) of it!! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha! The Lil' chick said we ate like we were goin' to the electric chair! LOL! Seriously, they must feed you a dozen times each day and it's a bottomless pit! They just keep servin! Ahhhhhh HEAVEN!! *snort* We did have a really good time and I still can't get over that water. Oh my, it's like an aquarium! Just beautiful!

Sisters by chance...

...Friends by choice!

This was a card I made for my Mom to give to her sister. They're VERY close and I thought this was a perfect little image to use. This is a Suzie's Zoo image, which I totally LOVE. All the little characters she creates are SO adorable.

I stamped the image onto some Neenah Classic CS and colored with my Copics. I cut the image out with my circle Nesties and sponged a little chalk ink around the edges. The grass is done using my Prismacolor pencils. The frame was made by first cutting a scalloped circle and then cutting a regular circle from the center afterward. I stitched around the edges of the DP and then tied a bubbly bow using this pretty organza ribbon and added a little tag underneath. I adhered the DP using several pop dots, creating this great 3D look. I finished by adding a tiny brad to each corner and there ya have it! TOTALLY TWEET!!

Hope you hens have a MAH-VALOUS Monday! {{{hen hugs}}}
