Halloween 2010

Happy Halloween!!!!!!

I know it has been months since Halloween, but I finally have time to update my blog. This was our first Halloween in Oakland, and it was great. There was the church 'Trunk or Treat' and Carnival, school Halloween parades (yes, they allow costumes here!), Halloween parties, and of course, trick or treating. Here are just a couple of pictures of these events.

Dallin makes a great Vampire!

Camryn as a funky Dragon Witch!

Blond Brad - I think he was a Secret Agent.

Felicia as a Boxer - yes those are her own training gloves.

OK - I was Hermione once again. Maybe next year I can come up with something new.

Jared as an inmate - he likes to relive the past:)

Here is Dallin marching in the Halloween parade with his class.

Unfortunately, Camryn ended up being home sick and missed out on the parade.

Halloween!

This was taken on Halloween right before they went Trick or Treating.

We went to a friends house for a great Halloween Party.

We made these 'eyeball' deviled eggs. Felicia actually did most of the work.
We defiantely had a great halloween!

Apple Picking 2010

We did our annual apple picking on September 25th. It was a lovely 90 degrees out as we were doing our fall festivities. Although, I prefer it to be hot out, it was strange to do apple picking and go on a hayride when it was that warm out. We had a lot of fun, although there were very few apples left on the trees. We had the fun of our niece, Mackenzie, joining us. It was her very first time going apple picking!
Camryn and Dallin love to pose for pictures.

Felicia and Kenzie with some random lady in the back:)

Dallin, Jared, Brad, and Cam enjoying the hayride.

Jared and Dallin could not wait to get to the apples. I think it's pretty cute the way they run the same way!

We had to work to get to the apples. The farm was crowded and most of the trees had only a few apples left near the top. It meant climbing the tree or lifting Dallin.

Yes, I made them all get in the tree for me. I love this picture!

Felicia climbing in one of the trees.

Brad, stopping to look my way.

Camryn in an apple tree-notice-no apples!!!

Dallin found some apples!!!!

This is Brad's most favorite picture because it shows how much taller he is than me!

Felicia, Kenzie, and I - Done picking and ready for a photo shoot.

Jared wanted to make sure Felicia was smiling!

Camryn and Dallin on the hayride back!
I think these are their excited looks.

DON'T TOUCH MY APPLES!!!!!

Felicia is now in 11th Grade.

Brad is now in 9th Grade.

Camryn and Dallin are now going to Dogwood Hill Elementary School.
(This was taken on day 2 of school!)

Myrtle Beach August 2010

We were able to take our first family vacation in 3 years! Our amazing friends, the Wysslings, took us along with them to their time share in Myrtle Beach. We had a wonderful time! I know this is probably too many photos, but I just couldn't help it.

This is one of the pools at the resort-the water was like bath water! They even have a small water park for the kids-and yes the adults went down the water slide too!

Felicia made some friends at the teen club, Karma. They are from Poughkeepsie and were able to meet up with us at the beach.

Yes, I allowed my picture to be taken! I could stay all day, everyday at the beach if I could.

Jared and Brad had a lot of fun playing football on the beach.

Dallin and Nicolas love the sand!
It's amazing how many hours they can spend just digging.

Goggle Girls!!!!!
This is Camryn with Nicole in one of the pools at the resort. I only wish the ocean water was that blue.

We all had some fun playing pool, mini-golf, ping pong, and volleyball. (I was only able to get pictures of the pool though.)

We spent a lot of time at Broadway at the Beach. Here Cam and Dallin are having fun on the boardwalk feeding the fish.

Dallin wouldn't get too close-he was worried the dinosaur inside the box was real.

Anyone who knows Dallin will appreciate this picture. We all enjoyed the Pina Colada drinks at the pool. I think this picture would be great in a resort brochure!

Fourth of July 2010

This year we decided to do the same thing we did last year. Luckily, it is totally cool! Laz parking manages a condo building in West New York, NJ that overlooks the Hudson River. This year we had a condo/balcony on the 26th floor. We could see everything! Although it was a little stressful for me (complete fear of heights!), it was a wonderful day. We had some friends from Sparta; the Wards, Eleanor, Carl, Michael, and Patricia join us which made it even better. Last year we found a women who does amazing face painting on the street corner. We found her again, and she remembered us!!!

After face painting, we headed across the street to a park that has an amazing view. It was over 100' out, so the fountain was very tempting! The next couple of pictures show part of the pre-show.

All six barges are set and ready! I love to see the line of boats ready for the show.

Joni Ward always brings candy to play the candy game. Dallin and Camryn could not wait!!! You have to roll a 7 or 11 to be able to get a piece. Then other people can steal them away. The blue peeps were the big hit with the kids-they were stolen many, many times.

The fire boats spray red, white, and blue water as part of the pre-show.

Here we go!!! I took a lot of pictures this year-don't worry I only posted the best ones. There were some unique fireworks that I tried to get on film. I think the smiley faces were one of the favorites with our group!

This is Camryn and I on the balcony. As you can see-it was very high up!!! We had a great time and look forward to next year.
