Playin' Ball!

Jackson started Bingham Baseball this year.  In years past he has played T-ball with a rec league but this year is machine pitch and much more organized.  In the rec league, the boys would each get a turn to bat and then switch teams--outs didn't matter.  Fielding was done by two boys who were allowed to run after the ball and who usually ended up piled on top of each other trying to be the first to get it.  In Bingham Baseball they had tryouts and a draft.  Every kid made it, but the teams were meant to be much more even skill wise.  The boys all play a position and baseball rules apply.  Three strikes, you're out, four balls, you walk. Surprisingly, the boys are not too bad at hitting.  Their fielding needs work but it is fun to see them learning the game of baseball.  Plus kindergartners just look so darn cute in their uniforms!

At his last game, the coach asked Jackson to play catcher.  He has never done it before so it was super cute to see him standing behind the batter waiting for the pitch.  He needs a little work at catching the ball, but at this age it doesn't really matter.  As one of the smallest kids on the team, the catcher gear drowned him but he was still so cute!

Thanksgiving Point Tulip Festival

We went to the Tulip Festival while the kids were off track.  Dalton, being in Junior High now, still had to go to school and so missed out on the fun.
I took way too many pictures, but I couldn't help myself.  Everything was so beautiful!

The kids loved that we saw a real owl nesting above the waterfalls.  Jackson wasn't quite sure it was real or not until he saw it move its head around.

The smiles are starting to get a little bit forced!  :)

I love this picture because it is rare that I get a genuine smile from Jack when we are taking pictures!

I started playing around with the macro setting on my camera.  I don't know really what it does, but it took some beautiful, close up pictures of the flowers!

Jackson was clearly done with me taking pictures!

It was an absolutely beautiful day and I loved spending the day with Holly, Allison and Jackson!
