Oh, the horror!

I love my baby. he is so funny.
He tries to scare me, and loves to be
silly.
Can you hear him growling?
Mommy says, "No, Tobes, don't get me."

My OSCAR buddy

Mom, I'm so tired this is so boring.

lining up all the cars in thier parking places?

Here they are re-aligned. and again, on another line.

and now we are going to bed. So are the cars.

The Oscars are over.

Literally, Mr. T was falling over a few times,

so tired, but so wanting to still play cars.

I offered several times to put him to bed,

or for him to come lay by me...but he needed

to play.

Thanks for being my sweet Oscar buddy.

I love you Tobes.

do you throw those annoying Box Tops away?

Please tell me NO. we save ours. We put
a ziploc bag up on the fridge with magnets, and
I cut them out right before I throw the box or pkg
away...and then we send them to school once a month
or so.
My 6YO came home from school Monday and in a
panic said, "Mom, we gotta turn in our Box Tops, so
that we can keep music."
sure enough, on Tuesday, I found out that the music
program at our Elem. school has been cancelled because
they can't pay the music people. I am really sad, as are
both my children. They love music.
So, PEOPLE. Turn in your box tops, you never know
what those little annoying rectangles could save!
If you don't have a place to give them...send them to me.
We'll love you FOREVER!

Have you ever seen Lincoln's cabin?

Well, now you have. Was it on your bucket list?
LOL
Dusty made this cabin. he wanted trees and
a flower garden and snow and icicles...
he did a great job. he had to give an oral project
with 4 facts on Lincoln. He ended up giving 6 facts on
Lincoln....here they are in his words...
When Lincoln was a little boy he lived in a cabin,
and loved to play outside. His friends called him Abe.
He also delivered mail.
Lincoln became the 16th President of the U.S.
He got assasinated. (he was gonna say "he got dead.")
We got his grade yesterday...he got 100%. WooHoo

OK, 1 more post today!

Here's what I bought at Michaels yesterday for
30$. I know it sounds pricey, but this is a lot of ribbon,
and I had to buy the cork for 6$. I had a 40%Q for the
cute red frame...ended up being 14.xx

Here's my cute toddler all FRAMED up...lol

and here's the final product...my own memory
board with cork, ready to hang in my kitchen....
all the colors I would want. I purposely didn't make
it look all criss cross and perfect...just random.
I looooove it. I love red, yellow and orange.

Hubby's Valentine present

Here's what we started with...

and here's the final product.
It was so fun to be crafty again, though, it's
a totally easy one...I haven't crafted in at least
6 months.
Happy Valentines' Day to all of you. Hope you
get to spend some GREAT time with your loved
ones.

My Funny Valentine...

Christmas 2007

above- New years eve 2007
left- Memorial day/Ry's Bday weekend 2007

above- June 2007 in Mexico

San Diego 2004 or 2005...i can't remember now. ugh...
my then 5YO daughter took that pic. impressive right?

I love looking at old pics of Ry and I...even though these
aren't really old. My scanner is not plugged in so I can't upload
wedding or engagement pics.
I feel so lucky to have met and married my best friend.
I love how comfortable we are together...
I love that he's my soft place to fall when things aren't easy.
I love to hear him walk through the door every night.
I love that he LOVES for me to cook. He is very encouraging.
I love that he listens to me, or when he just can't listen to me,
(I'm a talker...if you don't know me...) he lets me know.
I love that he's always willing to help me FIX something.
I love his brain...he's so smart, and inventive. always having
new ideas.
I absolutely love him. After 12 Valentine's days with him,
I'm sure that I love him more, each time this day comes around.
Happy Valentines Day honey. (i'm sure he won't read this...but just
in case...) I wanted to put it out there in the universe....
Cheesey I know...but, just like I promised, right?
by the way, I love this song. reminds me of Ryan.
NOTE: B and I just noticed that Ry and I always stand
a certain way to get our pic taken. Ry is always on the L
and I'm always on the R how weird. just trivial info, I guess.

somewhere over the rainbow....

I backed out of my garage this morning, and
this was my view...double rainbows? wow...

the rainbow lasted more than an hour, and it was sooo
bright. I don't have a great camera, and it was so
dark outside...just imagine how bright it was IRL.

This is on a remote street...dead end.
I almost ran through the field to try
to find the pot of gold...Doesn't it look
like it ends right there?
It was a full arch...we could see where it
touched the earth on both sides...amazing.
my kids loved it...once gone, Toby asked,
"wher'd Rainbow go?"

"The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain."
Dolly PartonCountry singer and songwriter.
I love this quote. I love rain, but long for
rainbows....especially as bright as today's was.

Scratch and Sniff

It's raining, It's pouring, the cute girl
is hoping...to catch some rain...

This is a small puddle outside our front
door. The rain smells soooo good.

To the scratch and sniff...cuz it's raining, B wants
some homemade chicken noodle soup...so here's what
we got...no celery, bummer...so scallions instead, carrots,
a bay leaf, elbow noodles (no wide egg noodles...bummer), and chicken
broth. the chicken is poaching on the stove...
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
It smells so good in my house.
Hope you have a yummy dinner too.

The Santa Barbara Mission on Friday Jan. 30th

My Girl in the Garden. She is doing her Mission
report on Santa Barbara...like you couldn't guess
that one, right. I love that this cactus was almost
her same size. She is still so petite.

Toby wearing my sunglasses. Cutie Patootie.

All my kids and Brynne's best friend, just inside
mission's garden.

My 2 oldest and B's friend on the front steps.
It was absolutely beautiful. I wish my boys would
have been more cooperative. Ry and I could have stayed
there another hour, at least. We love this kinda thing.
I urge you all to go. It was amazing. It's still a LIVING
mission. 12 Friars, direct decendents.

Random Pics of Spring

This is a flowering cactus. It was so
beautiful. both floral pics were taken at
the Santa Barbara Mission. can you see the bee,
just lower than dead center?

I loved this pink flower. It reminded me of a mini-
cherry blossom. I took several pics of this.

Here's Toby, hiding from me.
Seriously, hiding. He doesn't know I can
see him. Hilarious...really.

Signs that Spring is on its way?

we found a bush, right outside our front door
that was filled with Ladybugs on Friday.
I've never seen anything like this. Is this a sign
that Spring is coming? I really want to know. If
someone knows will you say something?
This is one branch that had a yellow ladybug
with black spots.

These are my two oldest's hands, each holding
one lady bug.

Here's a VERY dark red ladybug with NO spots.

and here's another yellow one. I'm telling you, there
had to have been like 30 ladybugs on this tree, with
lots of cocoon looking things...

I'm sorry to say that this little guy didn't make it.
That's what happens when 2 year olds pick up bugs.
...bug guts!...
